If only Kawasaki offered aftermarket parts like HD and also the infotainment upgraded this would be a hands down winner

That is my only complaint about the metric bikes. I own an Ultra Limited. If the metrics had the aftermarket options like Harley I would go with them. The round saddlebags are due for an upgrade as well.

infotainment is a good feature to say you have that feature. but truth is when you're riding, you're not staring at anything. hook bluetooth up , start the music, and roll. if you need to see a gps, mount it to the handlebars. no stock or aftermarket gps does as well (in areas where you get at least an intermittent cell signal) as google maps/waze. And as far as aftermarket parts. ... why pay 70% more for a bike just so you have the option of spending even more on it? this bike has a few factory optional parts available, and third party aftermarket is there... what more could you honestly want for your bike?

I had the 2000 Vulcan Classic, best bike I ever owned and after 65 years of experience it would be my last so I'm so glad I went out on a high note. Rode it as both solo and sidecar tug, more often in the latter mode since my wife is a nurse and I had to take her all over Brooklyn, Queens and NYC to visit patients. We used to call it our Bentley because it was such a high quality comfortable ride yet had a surprising agility and power. Kawasaki lets the good times roll, love their bikes.

@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA Thanks for the reply man, After getting hit by a drunk a few years back it had me with a fractured disc/tibia/fibula/femur. The seating position on my current cbr1000rr and cbr600rr is a bit aggressive (the angular bend of the leg) and it puts my leg in a weird dead pain on long rides. I'm looking for a cruiser actually, i might check it out when it comes out here in South Africa.

I have an 2019 Voyager with an Ivanized ECU. That tune unleashes hell within those 2 cylinders! I love it. Like other owners I went bang for buck and my Kawasaki has not disappointed. Recently, I’ve experienced going down the road and the bike just shuts down. Gotta turn everything off and turn all switches back on and it will restart. Don’t know if it’s an ignition problem or a clogged fuel line. Other than the fact it happens randomly I just don’t know. Thoughts? I’m due for a service and may have to take in early with this random shut down issue

Just an FYI, the K ACT and the Anti-lock breaks are actually 2 different things. Anti-lock breaks are just that, they prevent you from locking up the breaks in an emergency stopping situation as where the K ACT on the bike actually and automatically activates both front and rear brakes at speeds over (I believe 35 mph) no matter which break is activated, meaning that both breaks are given the appropriate amount of breaking stopping power as they should have and it is all computer controlled. Not to much front break and not to much back break.

I sold many Vulcans to people in the market for Harleys. That's why we always put our dealer customized Vulcans out front so people could see them driving by. Many stopped in thinking they were used Harleys. My dad actually saw the new Voyager and mistook it for a Harley, lol he sold Kawasaki for 30 years. The sound on the 1500cc Kawasaki was very very close to the EVO.

I’ve got one. It’s a solid bit of iron. On the negative side.....it’s not a hot weather bike, real heat cooks ya nuts, real tight corners at speed require very good skills. On the positive side, this bike is super safe. Ride to the conditions and your skills, you’ll have THE best riding experience. Cold weather, I’ve ridden behind trucks to avoid ice, shut the vents, I was warmish, solid on the road, completely protected from the elements. Plenty of gear space, all lockable. Good conditions.....sit back, cruise control, music, 360 klm to a tank, fill up when ya arse gets sore. Watch the view, no adds. Beautiful!!!!!

Not hardly double the price. This bike would be comparable to a Road Glide Ultra. Which is what I traded my Voyager for. The price difference is about $10k. For that $$ you get everything the Voyager has plus Navigation, better lean angle, 2 more speakers, better fit and finish etc. It’s all in what you want or can afford. The Voyager is an awesome bike. I loved mine. But the HD is better in every way and you have to pay for that.

That was worldwide numbers sorry. But in the 601+cc market in the US for 2018 Harley has 51.1%. Which means in the market they compete in, they sold more than ALL other brands combined. You can’t compare 50cc dirt bikes sales to Ultra Classic sales. Of course Honda sales more bikes. But a lot of those are dirt bikes or 600cc or under.

The seat height on a Softail Deuce is 2” to 3” closer to the center of gravity on that bike than any other Softail. It’s a leverage thing. Add 3” to a socket wrench and you get a lot more leverage, the same with lifting a bike off its stand.

Does one have more bells and whistles? Sure. But it is still just a car that will depreciate two minutes after you leave the lot. You can lose ten grand out of the chute or a grand, it's up to you. I absolutely loved that bike and to this day it's still the best all round bike I've owned in 40+ years of riding. I loved that bike so much that I'll likely will own another. When I heard that Kawasaki was bringing back the Voyager, (they introduced it in 1988 and kept selling t he same bike till 2003), I couldn't wait. When it was announced it was going to be a V-twin, I was so disappointed. I don't understand why Kawasaki thinks they can out Harley. I doubt it would. 600 bikes while fast, do not have enough torque. I started on an mt09. 3000 miles now and I love it.

Don’t see many Kawis around here. I’m not really into the aesthetics of this bike but if it gets u down the road then good on ya. As for all the HD hate I rode a Heritage Classic and an Ultra Limited and “suffered” none of the horrors being tossed around in this thread. Great bikes. Solid. No mechanical issues. Look fantastic. Hold resale value. And when I’m out riding we all wave no matter the bike so all this hate is mostly online, tough talkin bs from what I can tell. At the end of the day nobody really gives a shit what’s in your garage; only what’s in theirs. So Knees in the breeze and enjoy life.

Nice, but I would still choose my M109R every time. It has less gadgets (and sadly no ABS) but it’s more edgy looking, has more power, and it also has all that comfort and unexpected manoeuvrability for an 1800cc bike that weighs nearly 900 lbs. I guess it’s more more of a cruiser-muscle bike crossover with some sport bike technology built in. And it’s more refined, more reliable, faster and better value than any Harley. If I was going for a bike of a similar genre from a “heritage” brand, it would be the Rocket 3 (Triumph were making bikes before even HD) in fact I almost dud but the slight difference in seat height turned me off. I am 5’8” and didn’t want to be balancing nearly 900 lbs on my toes at the lights!

The only thing I never understood is why they didn't use the 2K Engine vs the 1700. Unless it's because of the natural progression from the Nomad line. Never understood why the Nomad never had the 2K either. I know the 2K is almost impossible to find.

you can take it off, but it's not quick release or anything. and once it is off, it's not the best looking as the exposed "under structure" of the tour pack is easy to see.........looks odd wish they had an after market kit to "hide' that stuff so you could ride with or with out the pack as an option.

Thanks for the quick replay guys. Not being able to quick remove the trunk is a downer. its one of the reasons I didn't like my Yamaha Venture. I have been looking at the Harley Road king or the Electra Glide. Thought i'd just take one more look at the other brands before committing. Thanks all!!

Kawasaki Voyager - all the beauty, features and comfort of a Harley, without that pesky $40k MSRP, that 2x Dealer markup, or the 110-extra things you have to purchase AFTERWARDS to make it run like it should have when you left the showroom. (not to mention, a year-more OEM warranty!)

As long as people buy Harley because of the image, they don’t need to build a good bike for the money. Buy the bike / car, not the badge. Image has no substance.

They aren’t a bad bike. Especially for the price. But I traded mine for a H-D Road Glide Ultra In 2018 and it’s no comparison. The HD is way better. But at $10k more. So if money is an issue the Kawasaki is the choice. But if you can afford it, the H-D is better in my opinion.

The only thing I dislike about my Kawi, 900 LT, is the Rake & Trail. Makes it harder to maneuver at low or walking speed. I can sling my Pop's Heritage around like it's nothing even though they are very close to the same weight. Same with my friends SG. and that thing is over 100lbs heavier.

nice bike but i am finding the big weight an issue, at 795 lbs I can't handle that anymore, I am downsizing to the 500 lbs or less category bikes, my 2005 vulcan 800 is ok for me but the most fun I have is on my 125 cc yamaha scooter, but the only negative is I am developing bad habits on the scooter that doing same on that 795 lb Kawasaki would get me killed
