I miss the manimal as a nuggets fan. But his place on the team slowly faded away as the nuggets were moving towards a different direction in team identity. In the long run, it turned out great for the nuggets but I can't help but to remember all the great moments he had for the team. That 2012-2013 was magical.

Kenneth Faried was a beast and used to be my favorite player! Always hustled and never gave up on a play. Was a big Nuggets fan and watching him and Corey Brewer go all out on every play was awesome to watch, unlike star players today who give up on plays and don't like to do the dirty work

Hustle on every play but didn't hustle to pick up any other real skills. He couldn't play defense to save his life. He couldn't stop a real big. He couldn't shoot. It takes off the court effort to have skill. People look at those two things in the absolute most backwards ways.

Faried played very well for Houston in the playoffs with his limited minutes. Great efficiency and good scoring per 100 and great rebounding rate. They were also positive when he played. Cutting him was not based on his own court production and probably had more to do with skill issues exposed in practice. But even then teams take fliers in guys that put up his stats. May be some personal issues that keep teams away.

I think Faried entered the league at a very unfortunate time when the role of a big man evolved pretty drastically. In the early 2000's a big was expected to be big strong and dominate the paint with big time effort plays and/or massive size. Back then a center or power forward was rarely expected to shoot beyond the occasional mid-range and almost no bigs had any perimeter game. Contrast that to today's game, a starting big has to be both a shooting threat and a force in the paint. Faried just doesn't have a reliable jumpshot and he is not defensively sound enough to defend other bigs that have a decent perimeter game. If he had come into the league about 5-10 years sooner, I think he would have had a much longer and more successful career playing against guys like Ben Wallace, Chris Webber, Jermaine O'Neal, etc.

nobody seem to remember but here’s what happened. But I did since i’ve become a Denver Fan around this time. Denver signed Paul Milsap. Kenneth Farried got angry cause by this signing he will be playing behind Paul Milsap. Everybody thinks Paul Milsap’s signing was a bad idea. Kenneth Farried starts talking in the media on that offseason about that. But then they start winning games with Milsap. For some reason, Malone just stopped using Kenneth Farried and even have Trae Lyles playing more mins than him on that season. That’s the start of him being gone on the league.
@rjcarless
@rjcarless Жыл бұрын
Probably because Lyles was younger (more potential) and also he could shoot better. It's really hard to survive in the league as an undersized big guy who can't really handle proper C's, can't switch onto guards, and also can't shoot threes reliably. He might be ok as a small ball 5... But you can't do that if you've already got Jokic.
