I found this franchise one night bored and scrolling through Netflix. While mostly everything was cheesey about the movie, the clowns themselves were terrifying, fun, memorable, and amazingly well crafted.

I recorded this movie when it first hit HBO back in the 80's when I was a little kid. I can't even tell you how many times I've seen. I actually still have that tape and every once in a while for nostalgia sake I'll hook up the VCR and watch it. I had no idea the movie had so many new fans until I saw all the merchandise in Spirit Halloween this year. While I think a sequel would be cool I'm too afraid they'd mess it up like they do with almost all classic horror IPs.

You should definitely cover Hereditary, its one of my favorites. Maybe even how Toni Collette was snubbed for some awards. But I do enjoy your breakdown, commentary, and take on stuff. You seem to like horror, but you could branch out into other genres slowly. All up to you. I'll be here watching haha =) Also did you like Midsommar? Because I didn't 😅

Hopefully now that the popularity is snowballing, the Chiodo's will finally get the proper backing to get the movie off the ground like they want. I heard the SyFy deal fell through because SyFy wanted to do it for only $2 million, and MGM and Chiodo's both said "no way" because they knew it was worth more and could be done bigger and better than what they'd put out for $2 mil. Hopefully the game coming out is that final push to get execs to notice and invest. Maybe Netflix? They seem to like to fund a lot of stuff.

I think you should have mentioned that it was the first killer clown horror movie. It’s rise in popularity is probably because of how popular scary clowns have become mostly due to the recent It movies.

I really don't think it's ever once lost its popularity, nor did a dvd release make it a cult classic. If you knew about it when it came out its never left you, it's always been apart of you. Some may have just learned about it and it's grown more popular, but it's really always been popular and never forgotten.
