I really love this man Bob Aladeniyi. I’ve always loved him and his wizardry on the guitar knowing he was the main guitarist to which KSA takes the credit (expectedly so anyway being the leader). But I’ve never had the opportunity to have a plain truth of event that played out until now. I’ve always love KSA for his success in the industry and the grace of God upon his life to still continue up till now and the great gesture towards Bob. It’s very uncommon from a mortal man despite the rebellion of the past. I wish Bob well only that I really missed his combination with Sunny on the stage. Great interview!!!

Breath of fresh air. I commented straight after watching Rasaq Aladokun and Abiodun Fatoke's interviews on King Sunny Ade's treatment of former band members. Rasaq Aladokun had to abscond while on tour to get a better life. Selfish? I don't think so.These band members are part of KSA's legacy.This interview is heartwarming. Maybe the King can extend similar gesture of goodwill to these former band members who stood by him when he was ill in the 90s. King Sunny Ade is a good man.

Bob Aladeniyi didn't betray anybody in this case. He tried his luck on Baba Abioro but lacked the sophistication that was needed for the deal. However, one thing usually naturally happens when a less powerful person goes in between two more powerful beings, it always happens that such individual get injured at the end of such encounter between the powerful gladiators. Now I thank God for the magnanimity of KSA and I love Bob for his understanding of the whole situation. May God preserve the lives of both of you in Jesus name AMEN.

Fantastic interview. Sadly we lost Kennery band legendary bass guitarist Chief Sunday Adeboye popularly known as Sunny Adeboye few days ago. He was one of the tripod legs of Chief Orlando Owoh music.(Orlando-voice, Ade conga- conga, Sunny Adeboye- bass guitar) May their souls rest in perfect peace. This is why it's very important to hear from these legends before they pass on. Alagba Bob Aladeniyi was frank and factual in his story. He is a great talented artist. How I wish KSA could replicate same kind gesture to the remaining surviving band members. Please interview the last surviving foundation member of late I.K Dairo's band, Pa Gabriel Ojo Fasoyin aka Bros Guinea. Eire and crew are doing a very good job and history will be kind to them.

Otunba Sunday Anthony Adéníyì Adégẹyè (MFR) is a destiny child. I can't even count the torrents of battle he contented with within and without for so many years and he won them all. His spiritual life must be studied. This session with Bob Aladeniyi has, in my opinion, vindicated KSA in many ways and has further nuanced his relationship with other disgruntled ex-band members and I'm happy about it. That said, no one can deny the place of Bob Aladeniyi in history, especially when names of top guitarists in this part of the world are called for scrutiny. There are also few innocuous miss of fact from him in this interview. The "Ẹ Kìlọ̀ f'ọ́mọ ọdẹ" isn't actually KSA song. It was Ambrose Campbell's song. Aside, the time KSA used the song was in contrast to when Empror Pick Peters blossomed with his Ọmọ Ọdẹ hit. Ditto for the song he surreptitiously claimed KSA used to ditch him, " Mo rí Sisi méjì níta faji....." which ended with " Juju lẹ ó fàbọ́ sí ooo.." It was one of those old Babas songs. May God preserve the lives of KSA and Bob Aladeniyi.

Dr Orlando Owoh praised Bob Aladeniyi in his album Jealousy jealousy in which he sang Aladeniyi tewo gba ire Owoh nile Baba re Bobby mi da. Sometimes I wonder why Baba Nigbati would only say Sunny ade and Obey are the two prominent musicians. You've all forgotten that Dr Orlando Owoh played major role in music industry. Good point but the interview was clearly about BA's time and relationship with KSA and his band. It wasn't about musicians from Owoh. Bob had a deciding moments with KSA and the records he made with him were epic, especially e kilo fomo ode. The guitar works in the records is second to none. The other band members who felt aggrieved may not get anything, unless they repair the relationships with KSA. You cant be fighting somebody, left his band on fights and grudges and you expect him to pay you a pension that was never on paper. They should come around the settle with him. Clearly KSA's relationship with those other band members was different to the one he had with Bob Aladeniyi who was instrumental in raising his profile to have become a name in Juju music in those early days. He is also a man who goes around seeking spiritual guidance and who without doubt had been given spiritual messages of his debt of gratitude to BA. That said, it is crystal clear that KSA and BA's separation from each other was down to the devious and self-serving scheme of Bolarinwa Abioro - he did the same to Emperor Pick Peters. What a man! Whilst the 1982 ill-fated KSA's band trip to Japan seemed to have been the catalyst that damaged KSA's relationship with the others irreparably - breakdown of trust. Hearing all I've heard from so many people on both sides now, KSA does owe a debt of gratitude to ALL of those other band members. He ought to recognise the fact that they weren't his subordinates. They were his PARTNERS in the Band. Comrade Rasaq Aladokun encapsulated this point beautifully in the interview he made with Ejire recently. I pray KSA make amends with these people before it is too late for him to do so.
@ultimateone2 жыл бұрын
Another great and enlightening interview, courtesy of Ejire and Nigbati TV. Given Bob Aladeniyi's reputation as the leading and pioneer guitarist, it would have been nice for Ejire to have asked Bob Aladeniyi as to why KSA in those days called himself and was popularly known as "The Master Guitarist" when it looks obvious from all of these interviews that KSA himself neither played lead guitar nor seems to have played much of it at all in his released records. It'll be nice to know this.
@idowumohammed4689 Жыл бұрын
In the juju genre, KSA was arguably the best guitar player among the band leaders, so the title Master Guitarist was well justified. It is difficult to be the singer and play lead guitar. The lead guitar automatically has to go to another professional. Otherwise, KSA himself is talented enough to be a lead guitar in another band. And KSA was without question the most talented instrumentalist and the best musician of his generation. He was able to play every instrument and drums in the band decently. Shina Peters' dexterity with Guitar was as good or better than KSA, but SP was not KSA's generation, and he struggled as a singer, and barely rose beyond his Guitar playing past under Prince Adekunle, and in his short-lived partnership with Segun Adewale.
@bunmiade9767 Жыл бұрын
KSA is truly a master guitarist and a pioneer of the most danceable guitar in vogue. He is the one that played Shikira onisekuse tun de, not that Bob Aladeniyi could not play it. But the sound is King Sunny Ade's lead guitar. To Bob Aladeniyi's credit, He has become so famous before Ekilo Fomode, where Shikira onisekuse tun de was played. Bob Aladeniyi's guitar work in Sunny ti de, Oro tonlo, Afai Bawonja, and Sehinde has already put him in the limelight. Bob Aladeniyi is not in the class of Monday John at all. Shina Peters can not play guitar better than Sunny Ade. Quite Easily Done (QED)
@idowumohammed4689 Жыл бұрын
@@bunmiade9767 No ma or sir. The lead guitar after Bob Aladeniyi played *Sikira onisekuse tun de* You see most of the guitar work in KSA albums was automatically attributed to KSA by us, his fans, whereas most were done by the guitarists in the band, without credit. With respect to Guitar playing alone, it is a disservice to compare KSA to Shina Peters (revising my earlier opinion). I have had countless opportunities to see both of them in play, and I can tell you authoritatively that there is no comparison. I first saw Shina Peters on Saturday April 1, 1972, a 15 year old kid, and he was the most outstanding star of General Prince Adekunle band. That was the first time in my life where a guitarist rather than a singer carried the show. He was being sprayed as much as Prince Adekunle throughout the night. The 2nd day April 2, 1972 (Sunday) was when Nigeria changed from Left Hand Driving to Right Hand Driving. We went to that party on LHD and returned in the morning on RHD, but the roads were mostly empty with soldiers everywhere trying to ensure the change went well. Shina was in the class of Aladeniyi, and was primarily a guitarist. He struggled and still struggles with singing and lyric composition.

Go and listen to Segun Awe interview on Agbaletu. KSA played lead guitar, Bob played solo while Ohiri played tenor. Awe did all the analysis. Awe wasnt in KSA band, he was in Obey band, but he knew all of them cos they were contemporaries. Awe analysed e kilo fomo ode, and the major guitar works there, how KSA, Bob and Ohiri were replying eachother. KSA is a guitar wizard. You can check his old albums cover and see the instrumentalists there, you will understand who played what.
@blessingajisafe6915 Жыл бұрын
I wont argue whether SSP plays guitar better than KSA. SSP is a wizard as well, but he couldnot sing with guitar, KSA did effortlessly. Meanwhile, Bob was something else, but for proper classification, KSA played lead guitar in his own band when Bob was there. Bob was playing solo while Ohiri tenor. KSA album mart even cleared that.@@idowumohammed4689

God won't help KSA to do that as God is busy with many more important things. It is KSA himself that has to do a bit of soul searching and reach out to those people and make peace with them, however little. What for example could be wrong with him inviting all of those former band member for a Xmas get together this December so they can felicitate together, air their views openly and the reach a settlement which he can fulfil? Nothing except for the will to do it. Hearing for example that he refused to answer calls (and gave run arounds) to the likes of Baba Femi Owomoyela with whom he grew up as a child in Osogbo was saddening and heart breaking. It made me see KSA in a very different light. Even his old compatriot Apoola King, Evangelist Idowu Animasahun said the same thing when he said "Sunny o ni adehun". How unfortunate for this flawed legend?

No wonder I now realise that all those people talks were as a result of envy because he has done for one, and what they are thinking is that whatever good for the geese is also good for the gander. He must have done for them but not as he had done for Bob Adeniyi.

Chief ABIORO has never been mentioned in good light with various interviews of different personalities.

What is killing juju music is politics .

We completely agree! Politics can have a huge impact on the music industry, and it's unfortunate to see it affecting juju music in particular.

What you did has no other name other than betrayal, more so coming at that very time Sunny Ade fell out with Abioro and got banned by the court from recording for six months. The height of treachery

This man a is big time betrayer and he has no shame about his treachery. The question is, what did they become with all those Abioro equipments?

He was tempted to leave Sunny,and we see the outcome of the traitor. The gifts of Sunny brought Bob to limelight. Eniti Olorunda,kose farawe

There's no betrayal. There was a working relationship, and there's nothing stopping the other person from moving on, to greener pastures despite that that may turn out to be a mirage.

I think Bob Aladeniyi betrayed KSA and about the accident that happened to you sir it was because you have it in mind you want to play late Abioro, he took you to buy instruments which is not for free, you supposed to pay him back and i think about the accident you caused it. May the soul of the departed rest in peace and thank God that you are alive sir .ASEGBE KAN KO SI

Betrayal is relative, think what you have personally did to others.

You are terribly judgmental of BA when you have no more idea that a goat, all that happened. I'd suggest you stay neutral rather than cast judgment on things you weren't part of and that you don't know fully.

I hope you are leading a rich and successful life; but if you are not, It would be safe to assume this attitude of yours is why you haven’t gone far in like Debolek or whatever you call yourself.

did you listen to the interview or you read people's comment. from what he said it obviously lack of communication. he didn't betray him, was there an agreement about the instrument? this man was open through out in the interview
