For the first time ever, (G)I-DLE has missed the mark with the release of their newest album 'I Sway'. The title track "Klaxon" and all of the b-sides failed to garner the attention that (G)I-DLE has been used to receiving. It is truly the end of an era.

Imagine having a #2 song with wins and over 1 million unique listeners called a flop. The standards are so ridiculous in kpop. Meanwhile, all these commenters sitting at home, procrastinating before they go to work at their minimum wage job they hate. High standards for eveyone else except themselves. 😂

Klaxon is rising currently charts: #7 FLO (=) #7 Bugs (=) #7 Genie (+2) #15 MelOn (=) I know antis are deseperate for them to flop but you cant stop them Gidle are a top tier group 4th gen leaders wit 0 payola you like it or not 😌

@@sarabeshwar1109 AFTER they made a challenge for it, and started promoting it like a title track. I was there, and I saw it all happen. They started with releasing the dance challenges, they made like 12 videos on that song alone with just the members and THATS when it blew. They had to show interest in the song for it to blow up. Ask yourself why some of their other bsides didn't blow up too....... because ding ding ding, they didn't promote them or make challenges for them. You think it just blew up just because???

Tbh, I was a bit disappointed but it grew on me so much. I love gidle’s summer concept! I remember how dumdi dumdi got so much hate, but I understand some people not liking it!

++++ I think that even though they do not resign with cube, either they will stay together in another company or do something similar to bp, in the sense they will remain as a group but will do solo promotions for a while

If you're selling concert tickets, you're making money. If you're making money, your act is not dying yet. Also they have a history of fame and exposure that doesn't disappear.

In what way did they break the streak? Gidle's song have never showed perfect all kill the moment it gets released. Because cube lacks in promotion, not many people knew they were having a comback. Fate achieved its success 2 months after its release. So did queencard. Klaxon is showing similar trend as queencard in terms of its uls. Soyeons vision is far greater. Never doubt her

They make music for the people, not for charts Charts is not the only parameters. Do you think 'Fate" was charting at first ??? Do you think Super Lady hit the mark ??? No, but they bring impact, and that is not chart. the fact that it did poorly on charts compared to their other comebacks already demonstrates that the audience didn’t enjoy this title track. it’s a very shallow song and feels a little cheap compared to what they’ve released in the past. i’m sorry if this sounds harsh but this is genuinely how i feel

😭 Is it bad that I actually loved this song at first listen? I didn’t like Super Lady, Dumdi, Queen card or tomboy at first listen but I really fell in love with this song. I actually dont see how it’s not doing as well as their previous

Unpopular opinion I guess, but Klaxon is my fav G-idle song, its the perfect summer song and it lifts my mood every time I hear it🌻

The only reason why klaxon received less attention than tomboy or nxde or queencard is because of the concept change. Klaxon doesn’t have that woman empowerment theme which is why people weren’t instantly in love with it.

In relation to rap, with title tracks sure I agree, but I disagree when we bring the bsides into question. Her raps in the bsides have only gotten better imo. There's so much range due to the interesting subject matter of each song, and the interesting flow she imploys in each of them (she can saultry, playful, hard-core etc) plus songs like my bag and wife still showcase how her rap writing skills have also improved (she didnt rap those verses but the fact that she wrote them and they fit so well with each member leads me to conclude that she has improved) shes not as hard-core on recent title tracks, Superlady rap needed to be extended too cuz it almost brought her back but yeah. Otherwise this was a fair crtique, really glad it wasn't mean spirited. Also the song reached top 2 in almost all the charts so I think Idle might still maintain their streak

i dont know much about music theory and speak mainly from my point of view, but i agree with you... klaxon was meant to be a light summer song, but its just not catchy at all so no wonder it didnt get the recognition they expected

To be fair, I disliked the song after one, two, three times of listening to it. But as a neverland, I played it almost everyday until it really grew on me. It's catchy, not as catchy as queencard but the more you listen to it, it's a bop. But music is preference so I get it. Still, I believe that Klaxon deserves better.

Tbh even super lady failed but due to their bside fate they still charted on charts , klaxon is a disappointment becoz of their pattern of making tiktok songs rather than genuine good lyrics. If you see their songs before tomboy were actually good lyrics.

Heres the funny thing-- most title tracks are supposed to be catchy. Thats it. They are what hooks people and makes them want to check out the rest of the songs. And yeah, many are shallow. Lets look at BlackPink. All of their title tracks are superficial "Im a bad bitch" songs. Like whens the last time Jisoo got into a fight? When did Rose pull up on anyone? But theyre catchy and danc-able. The bsides have some depth. Well some of them. And theres not that many, but still. Biggest girl group out there. Even older groups did this when I was growing up. You think "Hot for teacher" was a deep song? "Pour some sugar on me"? "WAP"? "7 Rings"? Half the kpop songs out there are silly. Even if they do have some meaning, the lyrics are so.... eh. "Cheese"? "Cat and Dog"? "Sexy, free and single"? Beyond that, fun songs have a place in the world. Not everything has to be serious. Nobody wants them all to be serious. Who wants to be crying or thinking deep philosophical thoughts while cleaning the house or drinking beer at a BBQ? Fun songs uplift and let you let off steam. You can just let go and have fun. Now, im not saying you have to like the song. Far from it. But the idea that every single song needs to be some deep meaningful song or have complex lyrics is wild.

@@xex872 fr none of them were tiktok songs. "Super Lady failed", no it didn't. It still won awards, the highest sales for them, and had done super well on charts.
