If you glue it all closed there's a good chance of infection, best to leave the ends unglued, I have a little experience with this, lol. Cool vid, thanks!
@ChuckNorrisUltra
@ChuckNorrisUltra 5 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. What if you clean it with something (alcohol, peroxide) before you glue it up? I thought gluing completely kept infections out.
@apocosy
@apocosy 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, cleaning doesn't keep it from exploding , lol. A wound needs to breath, if you seal it up it can get really bad. Had a few explode before I figured it out. When they use it in surgery they leave gaps for weeping.

One can also go to a farm supply store and pick up a few stitching kits. When sewing up it feels like a bee sting. I was out in the middle of the Bob Marshall wilderness hiking and a found an old arrow the hard way. It put a good gash on my thigh that needed stitching up. Ran into another hiker and he fixed me up. Still had to go in for a tetanus shot though. Never been without one since.

As a former construction worker for 15 years, I have found hockey tape to be invaluable. It sticks like duct tape but is fabric tape so allows me to grip my work like normal.

I used to run a saw production cutting steel flatbar into thousands of little parts and I would slice my fingertips all up on the burrs. I started coating my fingertips with glue in the morning before shift and re-applying at lunch. The coat eventually flakes and cuts through, but it would last a while.

Can I make a suggestion, how about not playing five finger fillet with a large scalpel sharp knife. Then you won't have to worry about going to the hospital/urgent care or trying to take care of a nasty(stitch worthy) cut yourself. Also your shop looks to be anything but sterile/clean, I would have went inside your home to the kitchen or bathroom and washed the wound better before trying to patch it up!!! Why duck tape? Removing that duct tape is going to be a real painful pain in the ass!!!

My entire family is blue collar. I just told my girlfriend I grew up without Band-Aids but always had electrical tape. However a few years back guy got a cut infected bc of the glue and whatever else on that side of the tape. So now what we do is stick the tape to the other side of where ever the cut is and twist it so the back non sticky side of the tape lays over your cut go around a few times twist it back so it will stick and rip. But the super glue is literally basically 99.9 the same shit as liquid bandaid. Just watch the tape we call it back taping

@@ChuckNorrisUltra It was because I fainted in the shower. Knocking my self out. I burned my leg, butt, and upper back. The faint was caused by diabetes. Like blood, sugar was in the 500s. I did not know I was diabetic. The knocking out part caused a bruise on my brain. I was in rehab for 4 weeks. The plus side is immature. I am going to have that cool guy scar. The downside is that I fight for little victories. I limp around all day and just straightening my left leg. I am looking forward to taking a normal shower again. Learning about how to live with diabetes is my next goal after the burn heals. I agree with Kaila's attitude when it comes to wounds. You need to be tough about it. Fix it and get it over with. Does that make you care? :)

Lmao i just got my 5 stitches out of my left index finger 2 weeks ago, compliments of the Cold Steel Spartan, now i have the blade outline permanently tattooed onto my body, lol. But im in Canada so the stitches are free here, well not free, but $65 bucks for a ride there and a finger splint is nothing! The tax payer's fit the bill for the rest.......but i had to go my finger was literally halfway off and i was seeing bone, so that was no good. Hope yours heals up just fine and dandy, but fyi you should have washed it out b4 gluing it up, you dont want an infection to set in, and a round of some antibiotics would be a good too. God Bless.
