If you're a fan of Knocked Loose and Korn, there's a 90s hardcore band called Disembodied who are sick as fuck. Isaac even played guitar for a cover of the Disembodied song "7 Stitches" for Two Minutes To Late Night. Definitely check out their ep "If God Only Knew The Rest Were Dead", and work backwards from there.

While still in the realm of hardcore music but not in the same vein as Knocked Loose you should check out the band Mindforce. It's just 1 Bass player and 1 Guitar player but the way the mix the two you'd swear it was more. Excalibur and New Lords are two good songs that showcase their sound, imo.

I really enjoyed this interview. It's great seeing a guitarist who fully understands everything that he's doing (theory, tone, clearly-defined goals of the band). Contrast it with similar bands whose guitarists are openly proud of knowing nothing about theory.

2:10 I totally got this vibe from the last record of theirs. Ridiculous, laughably crazy heavy riffs with sickening vocals. It felt like their previous albums were their artistic statements and this last one was them showing off just how brutal they could get. Especially with how Bryan did so many squeals where previously he only kept that for live shows.

Fans like me that found Knocked Loose before A Different Shade of Blue knew how chaotic their smaller shows would get even when I saw them play in 2019. And then we felt them get heavier soon as they switched from Drop G to A Standard which I think was one of their best decisions for their sound!

I always called them chaos chords when I was a kid about 10-15 years ago I was putting them in drop C on my 6string. I remember sitting in a studio in MA where the guy mixing our cd looked at me and went “ughhh that’s f-ing gross… play that disgusting thing again!” We laughed a ton and it stayed in the song. It’s so awesome seeing people other than myself and the crowd at the time grow so much. This music has come so far from my underground days. ❤
