I have found that a lot of players honestly don't even notice if a minion is attacking them, so you really don't even need to do as much of an immediate engage once you get into range. You can genuinely just attack them as the minion probably 3 or 4 times before they notice, especially if they had just pulled normal minion aggro.

@@clemens8715 This guy is correct. I use this to fake backs or to bait engages. Looks really convincing. More clone tricks as a mid main: Constantly take a form in lane to give your opponent and enemy jg trouble tracking your resources since you take bars of your ally. Swap out the adc as both in bot recall and surprise bot lane with your CC. If you have a duo who you’ve been as the whole lane, have them swap places with you to surprise mid as minion. They’ll think the ally is you. If people get used to your stealth ganks, bait cooldowns with a cloned minion or ally. Constantly be the ADC during teamfights to make it hard to target the backline correctly. Use the clone to fake movement over wards. My favorite is walking over a ward while disguised then send it back over the ward to make it look like you turned around. then gank as a jungle monster to bypass close by control wards to the lane (jungle camps can’t be seen). You can mix around these and combine them to make yourself nearly impossible to predict. She is the ultimate stealth champ.

I do have to say, as someone who loved playing Neeko before the rework, I did not think that the rework would fix the issues with Neeko as a character, but they seemed to have fixed them a lot better than I expected. In my opinion the problems Neeko used to have are: she is one of the only 'close range' burst mage without an easy way to approach the enemy (Lissandra has E, Vex has R, the only exception I remember is Annie), none of her abilities have a short enough cooldown to be used multiple times within combat (While other Burst mages either deal more damage with their combo or have short cooldown abilities such as Syndra) and her Ultimate was difficult to hit due to standing still as the stun came down. The issues with her ultimate have been mostly fixed, and some players are able to engage better than before with her, but even though she is more fun at the moment, I still think she is not as perfect as she could be, and still relies heavily on high damage numbers instead of mechanics.

People say count the minions but here is the real thing you need to get good at: realizing she’s no longer on the map. Just like a lot of high-pressure champs, if they can’t be seen, you need to be cautious. This is why things like Fiddlesticks, Shen, TF, and Nocturne get people. People are going to ignore your comment simply because they're more focused on particular situations rather than her general impact on the whole game. Everyone's not going to stay in their lane for even 20 minutes into the game to farm lane minions neither will enemies be 100% there to assist Neeko because she functions more as an engager than a burst mage. You spot her position on the map and keep track of it, you have pretty much countered her. I don't understand why people are into the idea that she's a champion that is present in the whole map. She's different from Evelynn and Nocturne, she needs you to be stupid in order for her thing to work.

Neeko was already playable in the jgl before he rework, its just not a pick player like in general so shes not used, the same as morg jgl, they are both similar, if you couldnt play her before its very likely you are a low elo player like plat or something and your macro isnt good, so this minion gank thing wich is very easy to set up might compensate the lack of macro. But overall i think the minion and ward disguise are very bad, it force peoples to do it and the neeko sacrifice too much if it doent work. peoples would do much better with a normal path-ganking-gameplay. In my elo shes 48% wr, and i see in every elo below shes like 45%. The problem with this minion gank is that it doesnt work like all the time, you just have to check the wave coming by letting your cam on your map, and when the minion cheese is not working for 1m your neeko loose 1.5/2lvl 500 gold average and game is over bcs shes too behind. The winrate clearly shows it, this rework force neeko player to make too much macro mistakes. So yeah you will always find some idiot that wont be able to ward forward their lane and check wave so youll get fed, but overall i think the champion is much worst than before and less playable if you use the minion and ward mechanics.

once the lane piles up, it's nearly impossible to check if there is one extra minion, even if u realize Neeko is hiding among them it is also hard to figure out which one is Neeko. I think a nerf to this playstyle is necessary

Notice how the minion trick only works when there is more then one wave present. Ive had neekos try to sneak midlane and its really obvious when the fresh minion wave suddenly has 4 caster minions lol.

The difference between low wlo and challenger is that you need flash more often for a successful gank. On low elo you can literally just run up whenever.

Nerfs: Actual cooldowns for transforming. A limit to transformations* (you can only mimic the same thing once every minute or something or you just mimic something else before an object can be mimicked again (like how aphelios must cycle through weapons before he can access specific weapon again).
