I think she just got lucky. Robert Kardashian was her stepping stone to the good life. Money, prestige, mingling with the right people. When they divorced she married Bruce Jenner she capitalized on his name. She knew he was a " Brand" in his own right. Her hard work started to show and make her famous ( and rich) when Kim had sex tape get out and then Kardashian show. So..... may have started out with luck but she turned that luck into $$$$.
