Personally, I believe that “Let You Break My Heart Again” describes a “situationship” that’s currently being experienced. With the perpetuality of the lyric “one day, I will stop falling in love with you”, I feel as though she’s never really moving on from the relationship. Saying this, the other person in the relationship doesn’t seem too bothered to move on either, considering the unrequited love that we can hear in the song. They are satisfied with what they get from the relationship without caring about Laufey’s feelings.

damn. you talking about limerence made me kind of question my life, holy shit I remember when I listened to "let you break my heart again" for the first time, around 2 months ago, and I NEVER related to a song THAT much, like, it's crazy. I more than once had the thought "if someone told me future me wrote this song, came back to the past and gave it to laufey to sing, I could almost believe them". like holy shit I don't even know how I came up with this thought process, but it was one of the few songs that made me cry like a child who just saw their favorite toy being run over by a truck or something. no wonder this is my favorite of her songs, the bittersweet kind of favorite. great video btw :))

The thing I love about bewitched is the difference in the love songs thematically. “Must Be Love” is a more grounded take on discovering a real love and has a somber nature of having to deal with vulnerability of love and how it can make you almost lose yourself in them, while “Bewitched” is like a totally idealized take on love, that is whimsical in nature

This is by far one of my favorite video on KZbin and I’m glad it was in my recommendations. I’ve been a fan of laufey since she uploaded KZbin jazz covers and she’s my most personal artist, her songs feel so relatable and it connects with me so much and I had these same instances in my life. Recently I had to make a tough decision in my love life and when I was in this dillemma, I can feel how much media had influenced me to make the fall inlove the more glamorous way and to idealize it so much. I’d love to see you cover some of mitskis albums! Because I feel while people compare her to laufey they both touch on the themes of bitter love differently and uniquely. Laufey focuses on a lot of the youthful yearnings as you wake up to reality when as I feel like mitskis music is closer to the harder more rough pains of love. In mitskis case I feel like she covers “love” as a whole taking her song Class of 2013 it covers the raw pain of lo for one’s family and not wanting to part with childhood to soon. And several of her other songs are sad and touch in such complex aspects of love itself another one I recommend looking into would be “your best American girl” and even the iconic “fransis forveer”. Anyways absolutely amazing video I’m about to subscribe!
