The Education Secretary should have been a teacher and gone higher up the ladder. Not a woke agenda, classrooms need to be smaller, and focus on STEM. Vouchers are good for choice. Public school funding is flawed and harms children in poor areas or rural communities. Pay to Play is horrible for children and harms children who can not fork out that kind of money. Public schools have gone down hill and dumbed down education and taken away Sports and other activities unless the child pays. The children are left out and behind when parents can not afford to pay for band, sports, art, music, choir, and more. These programs were included, one may ask what exactly is your tax dollars paying for, because academic and sports and the arts are not included anymore.

@ I disagree that the voucher program harms children, if a family is Christian and wants to attend a Christian school, a voucher should travel with your child. Special needs in certain schools are better than near the family, why suffer. Schools need to start focusing on academics, the voucher program will incentivize some schools while others are just failures.

I don’t know anything about her? But don’t understand why no prior education experience??? Just gut opinion!! I’m appalled at the public education!! I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with this…. ( my son is 52) but I have BIG concerns about children today!! Not every parent can afford to send their kids to private schools!! What about public schools??? There is no longer small classes, sports, art, music all the important activities that my son was able to attend, enjoyed & was able to learn about!!! Public education needs to stay ahead of the game and re- think it’s approach consider eg project based learning , hands on skills, customize education to fit the child eg magnet school in MS and HS eg engineering, medicine, tech , the arts etc Keep providing language programs eg Spanish , Chinese , French etc We are in the corridor to the future
