My mother once related a story on how my dad locked the keys in his car at a shopping center. A complete stranger helped him get the car unlocked and upon leaving he said "God bless". I asked my mom....so you obviously know that he was a religious guy. She agreed..then i asked her even though he believes differently than you is he deserving of death at Armageddon? She was dumbfounded and said well we can't read that person's heart condition only God can. I told her but that's not what we are preaching now is it. Complete silence after that.

Caleb please check out author Amber Scorah. She wrote “Leaving the Witness” an exceptional book about waking up as a foreign missionary in China. She had the EXACT same thoughts as you when she was introduced to the beautiful culture, and people. She felt foolish, trying to teach them her 140 year old American religion was better than their deeply held beliefs.

Hey, Caleb! I'm a former JW that left in 2020. No one in my congregation knows Im no longer a JW. They think I'm just inactive. I faded. So I'm technically POMO but I've not made a formal declaration of leaving yet. I'm one of those that finally bit the bullet and looked up apostate material. By the end of it I was sick to my stomach and nearly in tears. I was raised a JW and was baptized, This faith was my whole life, I was a JW's JW, if you know what I mean. One of the things that woke me up was my Baha'i dentist, whom is so exuberant she's almost uncanny and a blast to be around. I've never met someone like her it the JWs. I wondered if someone like her could exist in a worldy religion and not in the JWs, so after leaving the JWs I aspire to be like her. She's genuinely one of the most fabulous people I've ever met. I am really enjoying your talks. I was raised in a evangelical type christian setting for my entire life! However, in 2007, I had a life altering encounter with a Catholic priest, while buying a telescope. I was baptized in 2010. Its a longer story, but very incredible that 1 question can open a whole different world, especially about God and who Jesus really is.

Oh my, Caleb, your thought processes and contents are very strikingly similar to mine. This is wild! When you said "Once you start developing your thinking abilities, you tend to question your religion", I thought "Finally, someone with a platform voiced publicly my thoughts". I would add, you need honesty, a loyal commitment to reality to not evade and ask those questions. And if you're honest, you'll always come to reject your religion. On an average a non-JW is happier, more loving of their family, friends, and the society at large, and better citizens of their country and the world compared to a JW. Even before they started, there were millions of Christians here who knew about Christ, his ransom sacrifice, way to salvation, God's kingdom, etc. The truth is the Catholic church did a great job of preaching the gospel around the world, even to countries that JWs haven't reached until now. Speaking from experience I can relate to how hard it is to suffer the loss of friends and family due simply to your need to have things add up. And no matter what you do the stark reality of being labeled a threat is deeply disturbing and only serves to distance you further from Watchtower doctrine which can and does lead you to speaking out. Then the speaking out results in Witnesses concluding that they were right to shun you early on. One of the intellectual dilemmas that I struggled with was if Witnesses feel that they have donned the ‘armor of God’ (Ephesians 6:10-18) and are thus protected from false influences, then why does Watchtower rely so heavily on avoidance as a protective measure? Avoidance that causes so much grief and often results in the opposite of what they claim they want? Why wear armor if you plan to remove yourself from the ‘battle’? I concluded that they aren’t nearly as secure in their belief structure as they like to think and prefer to pick fights, remove themselves and then trumpet the ‘persecution’ that follows as proof of their having found the ‘truth’.

Every point you make here is accurate, not only for JWs specifically, but for All forms of Narcissistic Individuals. Especially those involved with Religious and Political Cults. They put off the perception of "strength and confidence and insight", yet inside they have weakness, uncertainty, fear and lack of stability. They fear being exposed as frauds and having their weaknesses and lacking used against them, so they "fight first" or completely remove themselves from opportunities for interaction and scrutiny. They live as if a young child would when faced with shame and fears.

You should become Orthodox Christian, the New Testament was originally written in Greek, JW have a wrong and distored transaltion of the Bible while not believing in Christ's ressurection or the Trinity. Are you still a Crhistian?

There are some important fact that most people do not know. The Corporations, also known as the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses, created their own customized translation of the “Bible” in 1950, which included the New Testament. The King James Version (KJV) they were using before caused them many problems, after they changed their doctrines so they had to stop using the KJV and create their own customized made bible, which includes significant alterations to support their core theologies. Over the years, they created many New Revised Editions, one of which was the first complete New World Translation (NWT) that included both the Old and New Testaments in 1961. Since then, newer revised editions have been released. Here are the remaining revised editions in order: 1970, 1971, 1981, 1984, and 2013, all of which included more and more and more drastic alterations, such as verses removed, words altered, new words added, punctuation moved, verses restructured, and parts of chapters removed in order to support their own doctrines as much as removing the Divinity ofJesus Christ and distancing Him from his own Father.

Here is just one example of hundreds of examples of alterations in the New World Translation (NWT) that are done to support the Corporations core doctrines. The alteration “her soul was going out (because she died),” to “ life was slipping away (for she was dying),” was done to erase traces of scripture that support the soul continuing after died so as not to give reader the impression that life continues to exist after body ceases to function. NWT 1984 New Revised Edition Gen 35:18 And the result was that as her soul was going out (because she died) she called his name Ben-oʹni; but his father called him Benjamin. NWT 2013 New Revised Edition Gen 35:18 Just as her life was slipping away (for she was dying), she named him Ben-oʹni, but his father called him Benjamin. A very significant change in the word and word structure, shows how honest they really are.

Before that, very brave individuals hand copied scriptures as reference material and did so under dire consequences of being caught. Of coarse God knows who belong to Him and He always has, since He created Adam from the dust. Word of mouth helped spread the truth about Christ since the 1st century til today.

Hi..Id always questioned their false prophets...then re the CSA... I started to learn Tibetan. The man was one who spoke 6 languages.I learned from 2 others as well...but left because of them lying inFather and Yeshua 's names..the children..and I did not want to teach lies to people.I have prayed so much about that.Im qualified to teach illiterate people to read and write so I did that too.They had questions and respect holy books. When they started a Tibetan group..I left as I mostly worked alone and used a Tibetan language Bible..not the incorrect tracts and other things we were sent... Their manners were 100% better than jws( no offence to older ones).. I'm glad you had that experience. Another thought...the Canon was done by the pre Catholics (Nicene creed). So, what's missing or hidden by Vatican? Sad times... I consider myself a prayerful Bible reading Christian...not jw( they are shameful) Acts 1:6-8...Matthew 24:36...Acts 17:11...Acts 17:22-31. Other Protestant church denominations can be in union with each other and hold to true Christianity doctrine, even if they disagree on unimportant issues such as infant baptism. For an example southern baptist denomination can look at presbyterian denomination and love them as brothers and sisters in Christ. Also with messianic Jews. Even Catholics who believe in the Gospel alone for salvation. Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord Jesus and trust in his perfect sacrifice alone for salvation and is born again, is a brother or sister in Christ. Doesn’t matter the denomination.

Have you ever researched the fact that the writings of Josephus are Not without a lot of Criticism and doubt, and that there’s evidence of the Jesus part being added later. Thousands of years prior, there were other myths of Someone dying and then being raised three days later. I believe it’s in the Canaanite religion. Was there someone named Jesus the Nazarene? Most likely. Was he divine or the son of God? That’s highly speculated and Debated. There’s really no concrete evidence.
