After 55 years left in 2006, went back last year and found it horrendous, could not wait to leave.

Interesting video. I was discussing with a friend only the other day what the road configuration was like near the Magazine. We knew it was different from now and we had a vague idea that it was effectively a traffic island but couldn't believe there was enough room on the northbound side. However, you have provided the proof!

I just returned myself after 7 years and this video mirrors a walk around just last week. Fascinating

I also took photos around that time. Some changes are good but more were bad.

Yes, it’s lovely to see how places have changed over the years or not, some places very little change has happened and other places are not recognisable anymore

Great video. I've lived in Leicester for 60 years & Iove the place & it's people. Such a pity that the town centre is so run-down.

The statue at the beginning of the video in what used to be called Welford Place is of John Biggs. Although much older, it was erected there in the late 1960 despite most people at the time having no idea who he was !

One of the few councils that actually paid for graffiti to be painted on one of the tallest buildings in the city. Madness

The city centre is a joke immigrants tearing round on bikes for Uber eats and beggars accosting you.
