Jedi Order only turns people because people form attachments, which is kinda what Jedi aren't supposed to do. It's more of an issue because the Jedi teach force users how to be deadly with the force and how to use a lightsaber. So anyone who goes off to the darkside is well equipped to fight against the Jedi.

Sure being resistant to rage, jealousy and similiar feelings can be trained but every species that even somewhat relys on cooperation to survive will always form attachments. The mistakes are not that Jedis grew attachments but that the Order teached them to ignore their feelings instead of talking about them and solving their personal issues. The entire Jedi Order was basicly in dire need of an army of therapists but instead decided "u gonna get over it" is enough emotional support. Anakin is just one big prime example and there are dozent others. If u look at Lukes Jedi Order in Legends it workes far better in that matter since people werent afraid to talk about their feelings and could better cope with them. Falls to the dark side still occasionally happend since no one can withstand infinte amounts of trauma but they were severly more rare then during the high republic era.

From what I know of Force lore, that would have required the level of finesse or brute power that Cal might not yet have. Force users (Jedi, Sith, whomever) are trained to envelop their bodies and objects they interact with a Force shield, that disrupts other users' Force powers. If Cal tried to Force-Pull the khyber mid-rant, it might've just not work other than to jolt Dagan into thinking Cal is fully hostile.

Well sort of, but he seems to intentionally bleed it. I think it's necessary to bleed them to maintain that bond after you go to the darkside, because a crystal naturally is not aligned with the darkside. Darkside users have to force their will onto crystals to make them work properly for them

It doesn't just happen. You have to intentionally do it. Anakin falls to the dark side pretty hard when he murders all those children but his lightsaber is never bled. Obi-Wan takes it and passes it off to Luke (eventually) and it's still blue when he does. The process of bleeding is an intentional process.

Not exactly, even if you turn to Dark Side your crystal will stay the same, you have to Bleed it to turn it red and even if you come back to the Light Side or just stay in between, it will still be red until you won’t purify it. Still, original color will never come back.

I remember reading the data pads from KOTOR on the Great Hunt for the Terentateks. One of the jedi had a crystal that acted as a conduit to her connection to the light side, but when she faltered the saber deactivated and wouldn't function in a critical moment leading to her demise. Not really bleeding a crystal, but I would think the opposite version of it

I always play Fallen Order with yellow because of the symbolism. Yellow ligjtsabers (or pikes) were used by temple guards, and he was (to his knowledge) one of the last Jedi alive to "guard" the tradition. The temple guards failed to stop the temple's destruction, but I (playing as Cal) carry it to remind me not to fail my mission and to honor their sacrifice. Just a little cringe roleplay because I like Star Wars.

Miss the old canon way of forging red crystals, making them synthetic as a "perversion" of the Force rather than the way Jedi collect the natural crystals. It showed the divide between the two factions, Jedi promoting life and growth and Sith promoting cold emotional fury and power over all.

I see where you're coming from but I respectfully disagree; I think that the crystal responding to the wielder's alignment makes the alignment of force users so much more impactful. A force-user's inner soul shapes their outer appearance and corrupts their weapon, so much so that it becomes a telltale sign of their evil. That's so much more badass than "we don't have access to a rare resource hoarded by an elite group, so we make synthetics." In any other plot, the side using synthetics would be the good-aligned underdogs trying to take down a corrupt elite.

I think forging a synthetic crystal works for a dark side user that was always a dark side user. Bleeding works for Jedi or light side force users who become corrupted by the dark side as it shows their fall by forcing their hate into the crystal.

I like to think they can be both. A Sith who's never been a Jedi could find a red crystal, via a twisted form of the same ceremony the younglings go through to find theirs. But a Jedi who turns can also bleed theirs, like this. I love the way they showed it here, its exactly how I pictured how a crystal can bleed. We know there’s a bond between a Jedi and their Crystal, so it makes sense that it can feel their anger, their hate, their feeling of betrayal. It reminds me a lot of wands from Harry Potter, which is funny because it’s always joked that Harry and Luke are the same.

Yep, much prefer the original lore that the red kyber crystals reflected the originall trilogy's themes of the Empire being mechanized and artifical with how they were artifical kyber crystals which had an artifically stimulated growth to meet the needs of so many sith warriors. Which inverted their Jedi counterparts where the Jedi had an individuality marked by their crystals as they conformed to the image of what the Jedi were seen as while the Sith had the same crystals but carved their own image as they sought to dominate the environment around them. This new 'Bleeding' just sounds like an edgy teen's idea of why all Sith blades are red and Disney Wars ran with it.😮

Dagan murdering his fellow Jedi and being wounded and sealed in the Bacta tank by Santari happened very quickly. @@VAOdin It raises an interesting moral conundrum however, one that the Jedi responded to with apathy and pacifism. At what point do you act to stop corruption? Do you act when you first see the corruption? People could get hurt and resent you for acting too early. Do you act when someone asks for help? That request might take a long time to come. Do you act when the regime is in full swing? What if the culture you’re reshaping liked the regime it had? It’s a tight line to walk and the Jedi failed at it, but then it’s not possible to apply one set of moral ethics across trillions of cultures. They may have set themselves up for failure.

Poor Daisy Ridley was lumbered with a character that had all the depth of a frying pan and the function of being the ‘magic wand’ to every problem that appeared. She had no real struggle. No real drive. No real purpose. They failed her and the plots of the films failed her, and that doesn’t make me angry, it makes me sad. There were some genuinely interesting concepts touched on in those films that would have been incredible if the writing had been coherent, thought out and character focused. That being said, I agree with you. That is what the films tried to touch on and I wish we could have explored that idea more.

Even when I got the game 2-3 months ago for series X, the game performed well but was not the best on Koboh but well. The performance on Koboh when you returned and head over to the lucrehulk was terrible the entire time but I’ve played the story multiple times since then( on my 6th play-through now) and the performance is wonderful now.

It's a whole test for padawans to get their own crystals on those rare planets that hosts caves of them, and to take it without breaking it. And with the new lore, the siths have to kill a jedi to get their lightsaber. It's more appropriate to the siths beliefs to kill someone to get a lightsaber than to just make one artificially. Siths thrive on death and fear, and the whole process of getting a Jedis lightsaber, pouring all that hate and fear into it and making it one of your own is just perfect. It's literally how Vader was born, sidious took a jedi, anakin, made him fear the loss of his wife and hate the republic and the jedis more than ever, and then proclaimed he was a sith, it's a perfect parallel.

As far as I can find, there is no such thing. The Je’daii, the order that predates the Jedi order, were primarily composed of humans, just like the modern one. It was a splinter of these (the vast majority of which were human, which likely promoted the xenophobia the Sith are known for) that were exiled, and found Korriban, the homeworld of the Sith Purebloods. These dark Je’daii stole the title of Sith by force from the people, and founded the Sith Empire. The natives of Typhon, the place where the Je’daii order was founded, was actually just a place of interest of the Rakata, who developed the earliest form of lightsaber technology (which was actually grounded in the dark side, surprisingly enough). However, the Rakata were long gone by the time the Je’daii reformed into the Jedi order we all know, except for some near-mindless, crude versions of the civilization’s species known as Flesh Raiders. Of course, this is all Legends information, the idea of the Sith Pureblood is yet to be canonized, unfortunately. Oh, and the Sith Purebloods as a species were already almost certainly extinct by the time of the High Republic, when Dagan is from, as would likely the Jedi Pureblood, if it indeed existed at all. Thus, Dagan is probably just some new species that Respawn cooked up, or is some obscure species they found in some niche comic somewhere, but it’s not one I recognize.

I still prefer the legends explanation for red crystals. The Sith had to make artificial crystals that weren't as high quality as the naturally occurring crystals that the Jedi had access to on planets like Ilum, which is why they glowed red (the lowest color on the visible light spectrum). The Jedi had access to much better quality crystals, which would glow green/blue in most cases. Green/Blue are next to each other, and sit near the middle of the visible light spectrum, which would be fitting since they would deem something of that color to be high quality enough to ensure that the lightsaber didn't explode when the energy was flowing through the crystal. Yellow would have been the lowest color quality they would have accepted since it would have sat just below the center of the visible light spectrum, and they would have used it for the temple guards who would not have been counted as important as the Jedi themselves. Still makes Mace Windu's saber unique in that he got a crystal that was so pure, it glowed violet (the highest color on the visible light scale). There would surely only be a few of those crystals in existence, which would explain why his lightsaber was so unique. Also still gives an explanation to why Luke's second saber could be green. He stumbled across a method to make a better synthetic crystal than the Sith did.

This is the most stupid thing that changed in SW. Crystals colours are like wands in HP, choosing its owner... Changing colour of the crystal whenever. Its weird. I really like this game, and as a game mechanic to change colours its great, but seeing it in a cutscene, like ooh iam angry, iam gonna transform my colour to show how evil i am, feels awkward and forced, and him fighting you with his original (orange or yellow was it?) would be better imo. I preferred it the way it was, being just rare crystal that powered the weapon.
