Just a little theory of my own: Perhaps Link didn't feel drawn towards the forest but the military recruits had to do this like a final test, venture into the woods and try to find the hidden sword. It would also fit like a trial of courage to enter the lost woods , since the triforce piece of the chosen hero/knight is the piece of courage.
@meaghanness80033 жыл бұрын
I like this idea! I was thinking it could have been a dare among the recruits. There's a rumour about a super powerful sword hidden in the forest. Several of them decide to try and find it but all return unsuccessful. Except Link.

@@meaghanness8003 I have a twist on this. Ok so we have all these adult soldiers and young teen Link. It would not be hard to imagine the adults messing with and teasing Link with pranks. When Link Vanishes and the person in charge, a friend of Link's father, starts to go nuts that the young man is gone... That is when Link returns... holding the blade of Evil's bane. @@chrispork1443 It didn't really expand on THE world of the past though. @@chrispork1443 Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is completely inaccurate to botw’s expansive world and history, and it’s story is a joke. Nothing lines up with how it happens in the original story, and I’m not just talking about the timeline diverging, there are several huge inconsistencies long before the egg ever arrives. I’m tempted to call this game fan service, but that couldn’t be true since it’s so, so much worse than the story we already had, so what part the game am I supposed to view as ‘service’ exactly? This game’s story is nothing but amateur fan fiction given a budget. If Aonuma really wanted to ‘expand the world’ as you say, then why was the game in a seperate timeline? @Rosie Garcia It’s possible Fi was annoyed/angry at Link for letting her get so damaged, so was doing the whole leeching life thing as payback.

@Rosie Garcia Why’s that? Why wouldn’t a sword’s spirit be annoyed at somebody if the person who used the sword for a good 5 or so years never listened to them, and in one fight damaged them so much chunks were missing from the blade, which took at max 100 years to heal? You also have to consider that BoTW link had wielded the master sword for the longest out of any past Link. Everybody else would pick it up for a few days or a week or so, before laying the blade back to rest. It’s actually shown in some way that Fi has resentment for this link. Not only do you have to have at least 13 hearts to lift the master sword, but in order for it to be fully charged all the time, you have to undertake several long tests of worth, strength and endurance. If Link dosnt prove his worth in the trials, then the blade only charges up when around Malice. If we take it from Fi’s side, then after each trial, she puts more effort into her/the swords abilities. She’s slowly accepting Link and forgiving him for his abuse and embarrassing failure to stop the calamity. This sword spirit has been the partner of countless hero’s and has brought down Demise’s reincarnation so many times with a perfect track record spanning thousands of years. And then this guy proceeds to ruin her flawless run of slaying and sealing evil by falling in the heat of battle.
@Agent-Ig3 жыл бұрын
@Rosie Garcia Ik, he got overwhelmed. It’s just a more Intresting thing to think about, with Fi being so old and being the weapon of so many past hero’s, what would she think and feel if one actually fell in the heat of battle after damaging her so much? To be honest, it’s actually more likely that after Link fell, Fi decided to update her criteria for removal from her pedestal, making it harder for unworthy/unready people to take temporary ownership of the sword.

Personally, in terms of explaining Age of Calamity's later sword pull, I like to consider that Calamity Ganon's malice exited Terrako's time gate at an earlier point in time, say 10-15 years before Age of Calamity occurs. This would explain why Astor has been able to rise to as much prominence as he has, as well as gaining the trust of the Yiga through his possession of Harbinger Ganon. As for how this affects Link not pulling the sword at the same time he would have in Breath of the World's timeline, Calamity Ganon's presence could allow for him to infest Hyrule Forest with monsters, like how we see it has been in the game, preventing Link from stumbling upon the Master Sword.

I had the idea before, that I was planning on using in my fanfic, which would also explain how Zelda knew about the Great Deku Tree and where the Master Sword was supposed to lie: that King Rhoan brought a contingent of his best knights to the edge of the forest, hoping the GDT would let them in so one of them could pull the sword. Zelda was with him, obviously, and Link accompanied his father. As a cadet, he was not one of the knights supposed to draw it. Sensing the presence of the Spirit of the Hero, the Tree let them in, even parted the mists around the Woods so the company could pass. One by one, the knights tried to draw the sword. Some fainted from the effort, some (the more arrogant ones) were shocked by the sword, Link's father was unharmed, but couldn't get it to budge. Rhoan, frustrated, ordered his knights to leave. That's when they hear a "clang", look behind them, and see one clumsy cadet frantically trying to put the sword he knocked over back in its pedestal. I think I like your idea better though, even if it doesn't explain how Zelda knew where it was supposed to go.

When Zelda goes to meet Daruk she talks about Link as "the most talented knight in Hyrule". He probably didn't have the Sword at that part since she would've called him "the knight with the sword that seals the darkness" instead. Obviously, that's just speculation but let's be real here, nobody wouldn't elude to the Master Sword when talking about Link to someone who barely knows him.
@fluffynator62223 жыл бұрын
@@SirTell Hmmm... They could be talking about the hypothetical hero. Nevertheless, it's weird. Those two cutscenes obviously contradict each other, maybe looking into the Japanese version would make sense.
@stuffz17573 жыл бұрын
She refers to him as being the most talented knight in all of Hyrule because she's talking about him having been the top contender to be her personal knight, he is later selected to be her personal knight after he deflects a Guardian Beam with a pot lid, and the day after the final Champions Ballad scene, the one where they take the group photo, he is officially appointed her personal Knight which is what we see in Memory 1 of BOTW. This presents a lot of issues as we don't see the Sheikah Slate until that last Champions Ballad memory, but we do see Link being referred to as the "Weilder of the Blade that Seals the Darkness" in Revali's Champion Ballad memory which happens before all the others and in Mipha's memory. We also see that Zelda has already developed quite a lot of self-doubt by the time of the Champion Ballad memories which she developed in the first part because of Link having the MS, and self-doubt like that takes time to develop, just like it takes time for the news of Link pulling the sword to spread across the kingdom, so at the very least it's been months between Link pulling the blade and Zelda asking Revali to Pilot Medoh which is the earliest memory we see in the Champions Ballad. Taking all of this into account and also the fact that Revali actually forced Zelda to ask him twice to Pilot Medoh, and his Diary confirms that Link had the MS before he was asked the first time than the gap of time between Link having the MS and Calamity Ganon resurrecting only keeps getting bigger Basically 100% BOTW has to go like this: Link pulls the MS -> He becomes famous for doing so and over time that fame and responsibility starts to weigh on him. Around the same time Zelda grows jealous and spiteful towards him over the years because she can't unlock her powers -> Ganons return becomes more obvious so the people of Hyrule start to quickly make preparations -> Link visits Mipha again for the first time in a while and has the MS with him -> Zelda sets out to ask the Champions to Pilot the Divine Beasts -> sometime during this the Sheikah Slate is discovered and Link is declared to be Zelda's knight -> Final Champions Ballad Memory happens -> Link is officially appointed the next day -> BOTW memories start. Age of Calamity barely followed this storyline at all and largely supplement their own set of events so they could tell a story involving their OC, Terrako, so the game should be consider Non-canon in my opinion.

Age of Calamity doesn't contradict Breath of the Wild here I think. You can't rely on Creating a Champion for the lore, it simply isn't canon. Just like the other books it was written by a third party and most of the lore exposed (when it doesn't come from the games themsleves) come from the autor's own head canon and interpretations. It's the case for the Master Sword and for most of what's in the book. Not everything is to be ignored obviously. The developer's notes, the concept arts and the interviews are the only things we can consider canon (of course the concept arts are still just concept arts). Another important thing is that Age of Calamity's story started earlier than you think. Hyrule was able to prepare for Ganon's revival earlier thanks to Terrako's warning, that's a big part of the plot. That's why Link didn't have the Master Sword while recruting the Champions. In Breath of the Wild they were recruited fairly late. When you look closely at Breath of the Wild's story there's nothing that contradicts this, and nothing that proves he had it for a long time either. Similar events happen in Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild, but they don't happen at the same time at all. And the entire story and context are very different in the two games. Now is Age of Calamity canon? That's a whole other topic, but it isn't important here so I won't go into that. And I couldn't say for sure myself.

My own headcanon: It’s not made explicitly clear when Terrako arrived to Hyrule. We can make an assumption that malice traveled with Terrako to infect the old Terrako, or Terrakold, creating the Harbinger, but we don’t see this in that opening scene of AoC. I think Terrako was whisked away to the exact place in space that he left from (outside Zeldas study) but at a different time and that is where the malice infected Terrakold. Terrako could have been blindsided by an attack and that’s why we see him deactivated so far away from the Castle in the beginning of AoC. When did this occur? Unknown but to preserve canon it would have to be a few years prior to the events of AoC. This gives the game devs freedom to rewrite any part of the story as they see fit. Terrako didn’t change much until AoC started but Terrakold did. It was because of him that all these monster attacks spiked up so we know he was active before the game started. He could’ve been the one to activate and corrupt Astor, or Astor could’ve been working to revive CG all along in the BotW timeline.
@AmirPrinceling3 жыл бұрын
That's actually a pretty good theory. It would definitely make more sense if the Harbinger appeared earlier, so as to get to Astor and whatnot. Harbinger appearing earlier and aiding Astor behind the scenes would definitely have changed a lot of events. Maybe Terrako appeared before Link attained the Master Sword and the Harbinger, possibly knowing how Link had gotten the Master Sword in the first place since it was from the future, created a diversion or some other scheme to drive Link away from the Lost Woods (maybe this was around the time the Lost Woods got infested with enemies) so that he didn't get the chance to draw the blade.

@onewingedmoogle3 жыл бұрын
I have a theory on the AoC timeline that would fit rather well with your version of how Link obtained the Master Sword in the original timeline. It's that Terrako actually traveled back much further and lay dormant for years. Meanwhile, the shard of Calamity Ganon that followed roamed around for a while gathering information before eventually possessing that timeline's Terrako and recruiting Astor. Astor and the Yiga clan then begin gathering monsters to form an army to help further their cause. They then begin to relentlessly attack the Great Forest to get to the Master Sword. Although they are repelled each time, the increased monster activity around that area means that it is considered too dangerous to station recruits anywhere near the forest. This would mean that Link wouldn't get a chance to pull out the Master Sword until years later, when they had the Divine Beasts to clear out the monsters in the area.

I never understood how Link can even get the Master Sword back when he was 12 or 13, wouldn't he have been put in the Sacred Realm until he was 16 like in OOT, Windwaker I can kinda get since the sword was depowered when Link got it in that game so you could use that as an explanation but I still don't get how it works in BOTW

Creating a champion does say Link pulling the Master sword when he is 12/13 is speculation, not confirmed. Since Link doesn't have the Master Sword during the Battle of Hyrule Field, and he has it when he meets Mipha later on in Botw's timeline, the only logical time when he would obtain it is after the battle of Hyrule Field. Link would also meet Daruk after the battle of Hyrule Field, just like he did in AoC. Since Terrako intervenes, Link wouldn't go to the korok forest as he is escorting Zelda, Impa and Terrako. Harbinger Ganon also had overrun Korok Forest with monsters in AoC. He knew the events of the future, so its likely he sent an overwhelming amount of monsters to kill Link and prevent him from obtaining the Master Sword.
@stuffz17573 жыл бұрын
Link had the MS long before any of the Champions were chosen in BOTW. Long enough for news to spread of him having it, for Zelda to develop a great sense of jealousy towards him, long enough for Link to develop his new found personality, and long enough for him to go and visit Mipha several times before she was asked by Zelda to pilot Ruta. This all had to have happened before Zelda asks Revali to pilot Medoh since that is the earliest thing we know happened within the year and some before the Calamity struck. Moreover this presumably happened before the discovery of the Sheikah Slate since Zelda actually does not have it at all in any of the Champion Ballad memories. So personally to me that's way too much to explain away just to throw AoC on some branch that will never be touched again.
@ZeldaLore3 жыл бұрын
@@stuffz1757 events play out different in both timelines. Link getting the Master Sword after the battle of Hyrule is before the champions are chosen and before he meets Mipha and Daruk, events which would happen much later. In Age of Calamity these events happen much faster. Zelda grows a resentment towards Link, yes, however these feelings turn into romantic feelings when Link saved her from the Yiga. In Age of Calamity, before Link gets the Master Sword, Link saves her from the corrupted Guardian, and it is from there that Zelda begins her romantic feelings for Link, explaining why she isn't resentful. Furthermore, Link gets the Master Sword and saves Zelda yet again from Astor. Zelda knows Impa, Purah and Robbie already, Impa has the sheikah Slate already, so their expedition described in Botw happens before the battle of Hyrule Field. Zelda not having it is because Purah and Robbie are researching it, Impa being the one leading the research operations, hence why she had the Sheikah Slate in AoC. You also have to take into account several things: 1. Creating a Champion, like Hyrule Encyclopedia, is written by a third party. Both books have information that is speculation by the writters, and some errors, like how they label ruins as Zonai when they are hylian made. 2) the games always take precedent over the books, specially the Japanese version as localizations lose important details when translated. 3) Age of Calamity was co-developed with the Zelda Team, to ensure the story was perfect and had no flaws, and they succeeded in doing so.

They enlisted the Champions first in Age of Calamity because Korok Forest was overrun with monsters-Harbinger Ganon’s forces prevented Link from getting the sword by himself, so they needed a Divine Beast to clear the way. I see this video was made before the DLCs for Age of Calamity released, which is a shame because the Guardian of Remembrance DLC actually allows us to reconcile AOC's timeline of events with BOTW's : Firstly, Terrako didn't arrive a few weeks before the Calamity. In the first DLC mission of Age of Calamity, we can see Terrako being crushed by the rubbles of the coliseum, which at the time were in pristine condition, then there is a cut, and these rubbles are now covered in moss, Terrako is all dirty and the whole atmosphere makes it clear that a lot of time has passed, it could be months, it could be years. The game never states how long before the Calamity Terrako arrived in the past, this cutscene is all we have. Secondly, it is also never stated in Breath of the Wild that Link has had the Master Sword for years. This information comes from Creating a Champion, but as you point out in other videos, Creating a Champion (1) wasn't written by Nintendo, and (2) contains several errors and inconcistencies. As you point out, it _is_ stated in the game that Link had the Master Sword before Mipha was recruited to become Ruta's pilot but as far as I'm aware that's really it. There is to my knowledge nothing in the game that would suggest Link has had the Master Sword since he was "twelve or thirteen", based on in-game information alone, he could very well have picked it up much later. I also don't see how Revali's journal implies that Link was chosen as the knight "long before" the Champions were chosen. I mean sure, he was chosen before they were selected, as I've already pointed out before, but nothing in his or anyone else's journal implies that he has had it for years, it could very well be weeks or months. In fact, I would argue it makes more sense for Link _not_ to have had the sword for that long. Why wait for such a long time to recruit the other Champions if the Hero has already been chosen for like 4 years? With all that considered, I don't think the two games are incompatible. Considering (1) the fact that Terrako, followed by Harbinger Ganon, arrived much earlier than the base game implies, and (2) the fact that, as stated in the DLC, Astor arranged for monsters to invade Korok Forest soon after in an attempt to delay the picking of the Master Sword (an invasion which to our knowledge didn't occur in the original timeline), the problem is solved : a younger Link wouldn't have been able (or allowed*) to travel to the forest due to the crazy amount of monsters which, in AOC, had to be taken down using a Divine Beast, and thus, wouldn't have been able to acquire the Master Sword at the same point in time as he did in the original timeline. Of course, it means that the picking of the Master Sword in AOC is not in any way representative of the events that transpired in the original timeline, but it doesn't mean these two sequences of events are inherently incompatible. *My headcanon for how Link got the Master Sword is that in the original timeline, knowing that the Calamity was upon Hyrule, some selected soldiers would be handpicked based on their character and abilities and would be sent on a "pilgrimage" of sorts to Korok Forest and would attempt to retrieve the Master Sword (after all, the Sword's location isn't a secret, it's just hard to find because of the Lost Woods). Link, being exceptionnally gifted, would eventually become one of those handpicked soldiers and would bring back the Master Sword. In the Age of Calamity timeline, this "pilgrimage" would be halted because of the monster invasion, the king likely deeming that his soldiers' lives were more important than a sword. Perhaps its immense significance had been lost to time, or the king thought Zelda's sealing power and the Divine Beasts would do the trick, or, as he ends up doing in the game, he was waiting for the Divine Beasts to be ready to rid the Forest of monsters and start sending soldiers to the forest again.

Another problem is ocarina of Time vs creating a champion...because as Rauru States link was only 9 or 10 I believe and was too young to wield the master sword so he had to sleep for 7 years until he got to 17 or 18. The book you know more or less retcons that saying it didn't matter and he was able to wield it at 12 or 13... Either Fi was like "fuck it I'm tired of waiting pull me now!" or this was just a big slip up...maybe a missed translation possibly? Breath of the wild has to fit within the timelines right? "The Champions' Balled" is so vague on how much time has passed between when Link got the Master Sword and when the Champions were recruited that it doesn't completely support "Creating a Champion" as cannon over "Age of Calamity", Terrako could've just time-travelled to before Link got the Master Sword and upon finding out about about the future the King accelerated the recruitment of the Champions.
@toschiworlds72123 жыл бұрын
I alaways explain it to myself by saying that perhaps Terrako arrived several years before the calamity, went out of commotion (maybe because the time travel used up most of his energy) and went unnoticed until the first battle in AoC (that's just speculation on my part though), meaning that the malice from BotW's Ganon would have infected the Terrako of this new time who would then have slipped out of the castle and went on to start corrupting monsters and probably setting up Astor as well. That way Korok Forest would be overtaken by monsters before Link had a chance to go there and obtain the Master Sword. And maybe the Hylian Army was too preoccupied in other parts of the kingdom to go and take of this. That is just my personal theory for this and it heavily relies on speculation and adding details, so take it with a grain of salt.

I know it says in the loading screen tip that Terrako created a split path, but its easier to explain if its not literal (because if Terrako hadn't traveled to that timeline, the Calamity still would have struck the same as the main timeline). This could also possibly be explained by Totk. Perhaps the timeline split was caused by Zelda traveling to the past to become the Light Dragon, with the Botw timeline being the timeline where Zelda was in the past, but Age of Calamity is the timeline where Zelda never went to the past.

It's not black and white. Some parts of Creating a Champion are direct quotes from developers, others are written by Nintendo Dream (a 3rd party japanese magazine who worked with Nintendo on this project)

It would have been possible to make AoC canon. All they would have to do is give Link the Master Sword at the start, for one or two battles and more quickly introduce the villain Aster. Have Aster use some kind of powerful dark magic to steal the Master Sword. He can't wield it himself, but he can re-seal it in the Yiga clan base. The first major plot arc would involve infiltrating the Yiga clan base to get the Master Sword back.

Strictly speaking, I think it’s possible for Botw’s events to be compatible with AoC’s. My impression was that Terreko’s appearance accelerated the sequence of events prior to the Calamity. Link, through Terrako, meets Zelda earlier and, by saving her from a corrupted Guardian (which couldnt exist in Botw’s timeline) is appointed as her knight earlier. Aoc makes it clear that the malice from Botw’s timeline accelerated the arrival of the Calamity. Additionally, the Champions could have been appointed earlier because of Terreko’s arrival and the pictures it brought with them. In fact, Mipha’s diary supports this. In AoC, Mipha’s dialogue when meeting Link directly mirrors her diary entry, except in her description of Link’s demeanor. If Link visited Zora’s domain for the same reason in Botw (accompanying Zelda as she appoints the champions) then Link doesnt have the master sword because he visits Mipha before he drew the blade. As for the circumstances in which Link drew the blade in Botw, we’ll never know for certain. But strictly speaking, AoC’s lore regarding the Master Sword is possible because not all events need to line up with Botw. If time-traveling Terreko and malice accelerated the timeline, then Link drawing the Master Sword before or after the Champions are appointed in AoC doesn’t really tell us when Link drew the sword in Botw.

There's a major issue with this video in the fact that Creating a Champion isnt canon. Or at least not confirmed to be Nintendo had no hand in writing the books, it was solely written by Dark Horse. On top of that, the book is extremely inconsistent with if it writes lore details in a speculatory manner, or in a definitive manner. Granted though, you do clarify that. But, Age of Calamity also isnt solely third party, as the Zelda team worked alongside Koei Tecmo, specifically in the story department of the game. As for the Champion diaries, that is solely interpretation. Notice how wordings are vague. "Link came to visit the domain. It feels like forever since he was here last" can be interpreted as a month, six months, a year, etc. Drawing from personal experience, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it took me about a year to physically meet with my friends once again, and I described that as "forever". Not to mention Mipha's feelings for Link, which would of course exacerbate any period of time the two spend apart. I should also note that the part of the diary does not explicitly state that Link game to visit right after Vah Ruta was uncovered/because of it. Here is page 2 of the diary: "A Divine Beast was excavated from Zora's Domain. This one is called Vah Ruta. The first time I laid eyes on Ruta, I was surprised by how cute it was. It's so big and round, with a long, awkward nose. According to the Shiekah who found Ruta, Divine Beasts require someone worthy to control them. It's fun to imagine someone piloting this enormous beast in the distant past. I wonder who will have the honor next." And here is page 3: "Link came to visit the domain. It feels like forever since he was here last. He no longer resembles the child I first met. He is now an accomplished knight and keeper of the sword that seals the darkness. I am so proud. However... He hardley speaks anymore, and smiles even more rarely. He is still the kind soul I knew, but something has changed. I asked him if something had happened, if something was wrong. He merely shook his head. Perhaps it is his newly acquired height, but I feel he is ever looking past me, into the distance beyond..." Source: zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Mipha%27s_Diary If Creating a Champion didnt exist, would you even interpret lines like "Link came to visit the domain. It feels like forever since he was here last" as about 5 years? For clarity, I never read the diaries blind, except Daruk's, so I wouldnt be able to say what I would've interpreted the line as, plus there'd be no way to verify it anyway. Regardless though, I feel like you're making reaches in order to make a point. Breath of the Wild doesnt explicitly state one way or the other when Link got the Master Sword, the only media that do are the book written by a third party, and the third party game written by the Zelda team. Im personally taking my bearings with definitive material written by the Zelda team.

Great video MM as usual! I have a follow up for your theory and some ideas that could match both timelines. Link went for the MS when he was 12 as you said, and from that moment the Sword chose him as the hero, but he didn't took the sword with him, because it was not necessary yet. He only commented this fact to his family and close friends like Mipha, he then returned as a young adult to finally retrieved the Sword just before the memories of BOTW, he might have another dream telling him the calamity was close. In Age of Calamity this was not possible because the malice that followed Terrak made the monsters attacked the castle, event that didn't happened in the OG timeline, this made Link getting to know Impa and Zelda sooner, thus preventing him to retrieve the MS as a young adult as I suggested happened in OG timeline. It's just a thought.

My own personal idea as to AoC's timeline is that Link went into the forest just as he does in the video's theory, but when he goes to pull the Master Sword, for some unknown reason it decides that he is not yet ready, and rather than pull an OoT and seal him away for years, he's sent back to the forest entrance, with all memories of the incident either erased or replaced(i.e. instead of remembering finding the Master Sword, he would remember seeing nothing there, and leaving).

Age of calamity could still be canon, if the timeline split wasn’t caused by terrako Instead we go with the fallen hero a scenario, where a great coin flip occurs Link feels the pull to the forest, and must choose wether to listen. Just because a person has possession of an object doesn't mean they can't leave it in it's slumbering place. Kind of like Sword in the Stone fable. Not just anyone can pull it out. Sure they can place it back in but can never pull it out. Link was in "possession" of it whenever he wanted it. Nothing really concretes your theory. "Possession" is not a place. Kind of like I possess her love for me. Matter of how you define it.

What if it's similar to how time travel is described by the Flash in the Flashpoint storyline, in that traveling back in time the traveler sends out a sort of shockwave that possibly affects events that took place before their arrival? Terrako going to the past might have made the timeline ripple just enough to change when Link obtains the Master Sword.

I was thinking about the MS retcon the other day. It can be worked around, I think. Like, maybe Link started feeling pressured because he was simply the best knight, and everyone looked up to him during the coming Calamity, Master Sword or not.
@ChaoticHoly3 жыл бұрын
The split occurred when Terrako was built. In BotW, he was never built, and shit happens. In AoC, Terrako IS built (right when the Queen Mum mysteriously flops over dead), creating the split. Its mere creation altered events in some way enough to prohibit Link from even finding the sword for an extra 5 or so years.
@MonsterMaze3 жыл бұрын
He was built in Breath of the Wild too. The opening cutscene of the game is literally Breath of the Wild's timeline. Terrako in Age of Calamity is from that timeline. That's why there are 2 Terrako's in the game. One is the one from the future (botw) and the other is from the present and is taken over by Ganon's Malice.
@ChaoticHoly3 жыл бұрын
@@MonsterMaze Ah, but there's no mention of Terrako in Breath of the Wild. That's what I mean by its creation being the split. Even if it was seen in the "BotW flashback section of AoC, it didn't exist IN BotW. It's later actions concerning the Champions? From the AoC timeline from after its creation but as a "what if" it hadn't gone back in time, not the actual BotW timeline. Because, thematically in the game, it's the only option that makes any sense given all the other discrepancies.

I bet dollars to donuts that the Hyrule bootcamp was constructed intentionally close to the resting place of the master sword. They probably thought that the hero would likely be in the military, as someone with extraordinary skills would likely become a soldier. So they built the camp on the edge of the forest, hoping that the chosen hero would be called to the forest by the sword and pull it. And that's exactly what happened when Link went to the bootcamp after joining the military. The sword called out to him, and he wandered into the forest and pulled the blade, exactly as the military had predicted.
