Hi Guys! Today I'm talking about lips.I'm just sharing tips on application along with the best lipsticks to use. Please use what ever makes YOU happy. It's just a fact that the darker the lipstick color the smaller our lips appear. Unless you are blessed with large lips. If you don't care about having smaller lips and you LOVE dark or bold colors go for it. For me the darker the color the smaller my lips look and the more attention it draws.

What a great video! I struggle all the time with trying to find the right lipstick. I'm in my 60's, so smaller lips and/or yellow teeth is a big issue! Thank you so much for covering this topic - I feel like I've got a better handle on what not to do now! xo

When you show us the side by side photo, the difference is remarkable. The lighter lip looks so much fuller and plumper. I'm a gal who loves red lipstick but haven't been able to pull it off lately. Now I know why. 💖

I own so, so many lipsticks and lip liners, but nothing makes these 66-year-old lips look better than CT Stoned Rose lipstick + Super size me lip liner! Beautiful combination! I totally agree about the dark colors!

Thanks for the tips. My takeaway is not to skip the liner and not to be afraid of slightly overlining. I agree with you about darker lips, especially if your lips are thin. My problem now is my mouth is downturned now so the shape has changed. Another reason not to draw too much attention to that area.

Amazing tips! I'm in my 30s and want to learn anti-aging tips now from women who have more experience than I do. I learned a lot! I personally dislike matte lips too because they shrivel and dry out lips and I know that dryness can age skin. My skin tends to develop light wrinkles during winter than during moist and warm months and soil assume using a drying lip product might wrinkle my mouth area prematurely. I did not know that about dark colors and I totally get it now. Thank you!

What a difference between the dark and light lipstick! The lighter shade is definitely better! I have fair skin and if I wear anything with color, it seems to reflect on my face and gives me a very odd coloring, if that makes sense. I don’t really see it until I play back my video and realize how horrible it looks. 🙄 thanks for sharing this information!

Hi Anne. I suffer from cold sores and over the years they've eaten my lips natural contour. I've been overlining them since my late teens to shape them up and add the missing colour. This works for me: the best pencil to contour is the closest to my natural lip colour and to fill in with the closest to the lipstick. Thank you for these good tips. Greetings from the UK.

Some great tips Anne. I have to admit I am blessed with good genes as at nearly 57 I still have full lips top and bottom and high cheekbones. My sisters are the same. I still prefer to use light or medium colours as I don’t really like dark colours and also avoid drying matte lipsticks 💕 xx

As you age your lips for most women do seem to get smaller I have lined my lips forever....I find as you to use the lighter shades, too..one thing that I have not heard mentioned is using a lip base, extend it beyond your lip line. It makes the lip liner go on so smooth and also the fill in..love the soft color you wear..very pretty on you!

It’s been a long time since I’ve used a lip liner, but I’d like to try one again. Lately, I’ve been wearing Colorescience Lip Shine in Coral; I have it in Rose which is very close to my lip color. Good morning ☀️ sweetie. I’m glad you did this video. I tend to line my lips then feather it a bit with my finer so I don’t have a harsh line. I’m always exfoliating my lips and I like to fill in my lips so my lipstick will stay on linger too. I was just playing with some of my lipsticks I’ve had for 3+ months. A neutral lip makes my lips 👄 look larger. I red or raspberry color makes my teeth brighter. Excellent advice Anne. You have beautiful teeth. Have a wonderful weekend hugs 🤗 and Aloha 🌺

My concealer is aging me and driving me nuts. I’m going through a horrible dry under eyes stage (for the rest of my life probably). None of the formulas work anymore. I’m going to try the Lancôme one you love and I can’t wait. You know it’s bad when you take forever to get it applied then proceed to wipe it off and start over every other day. Great tutorial Anne! 👍 Some of my favourites in my pinky nudes are Mac Modesty & Faux as well as Estée Lauder Desirable & Sephora Oui. I’m going away from the stronger nudes like Mac Velvet Teddy or Estée L Intense Nude. You are so right about the yellow teeth problem with the shades that go too peachy or orange brown. Mac Kinda Sexy & See Sheer or Marc Jacobs lipstick in Cream & Sugar ALL do that on me. And I have gone down to 3 reds that I only use in fall winter. I rarely reach for them now, only when I wear red or cranberry colours. Thinking about this, I need to de clutter my lipstick collection! Maybe keep 1 red. Not 3. And as I age I wear the strong colours less and less. They wash me out and the softer shades in clothes and cosmetics are more flattering.

Hi Anne, really good video today. I love lipstick, always have. Once upon a time, I could wear any color, but with aging that is no longer true. Bright, bold red was once my fav, now that color just seems to make my mouth look old and “pinched” if that makes sense. I have been struggling with finding the perfect fit for my 66 year old face, so I really appreciate your tips. Happy painting, I also embarked on the same project last week, I decided my trim needed freshening up. Ugh, I hate to paint.

I always apply my Lancome Effecernes first to give a smooth even canvas before appling my lip pencil( I fill in to). I actually think the first shade if brighter and( less brown which I don’t think flatters anyone) makes your skin look more porcelain and eyes pop.

Hi Anne great job on the lips! I agree didn't think the darker lipstick was a good one for you good demonstration. Yes agree about some lipsticks can make your teeth look more yellow-that really comes with oranges in lipsticks. I myself can't wear a nude lipstick I need colour but don't like a dark colour - just a bit brighter. I think you definitely have to take your colouring into consideration too. Excellent video! Great vid. I always love your choice of lipstick and gloss, always looks perfect with your overall look. I still struggle with finding the perfect lipstick color and end up correcting the color I've chosen with gloss. My go to glosses are Fenty's Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y and Fenty Glow. They look great on my mature lips I only wish they would come out with some new shades. I love wearing dark shades but only in the fall/winter and only with a minimal eyelook. Do you have any suggestions of lip color for fair skin with pink undertones? Guess I should invest in some CT. I've heard only great thinks about her lip products. Thanks as always Anne. I agree that we should fill in the whole lip for the reason that you stated. Further, if the lipstick wears away a bit, you don't just see a line drawn. Seeing the line on the lip is not a pretty look. Nice job!

Yes, absolutely. I actually do that. I line my lips, fill them in and add a gloss on top. Sometimes clear and sometimes it's tinted.

Thanks for the lip lesson. I think your lips/lipsticks always look really nice. I hate that my favourite Chanel lip crayon bleeds into my lip lines. You don’t look as if you have any lip lines. Lucky You! Lol. Even my Lancôme lip pencils seep into my lines...

Chanel lip liner doesn't work for me either. It's a bit too creamy. I prefer Charlotte Tilbury or Lancome lip liners.

Hello thank you for this information. I am a red head with green hazel eyes and I have noticed that darker colors as I age do make me look older. I can't find a warm coral or peach tone that doesn't pale me out horribly. Most lipsticks go pink on me no matter what the color. Do uou have any suggests?

Okay, I have a question? I, like most ladies, used to have beautiful lips!! And at age 60, my top lip is disappearing. Also the lines around my mouth seem to have deepened overnight!! I have tried so many different brands of lip liner to stop my lipstick from bleeding into my lines, but none really help!! And I just HATE that look, ugh!! The long lasting lip color stays on my lips but I hate the feel of it and after a few hours, it seems to start to crumble or flake off a bit, I can't explain it very well. But is there any lip liner out there that can do a good job to keep lipstick from feathering???

Three lip liner brands I love are Charlotte Tilbury, Lancome and Makeup Forever. I find them not to be too creamy which can cause bleeding or drying.

Hi Melissa sounds like maybe the colors are too cool on you. I would try looking for nude colors with peach or pink tones. A pink or peach with a blue base will also make your teeth appear whiter😊I hope this helps.

I have silver hair light skin and blue eyes. A red lip would very much make my eyes pop. However, because of mature skin in general, one more thing a darker lip enhances is the wrinkles around the mouth. At least on me. Those vertical lines immediately become the focus even if there is no bleeding into them. A mystery to me is all those mature ladies on You Tube and elsewhere who really rock a red lip. Seems to take years off them. I suppose it is a very individual thing but for me I agree with your viewpoint.

Yes you can apply it on your lips first but I need to line my lips so I put it on before and after applying my lipstick ot sometimes only on top of my lipstick😊💖
