Is it OK to make amendments and add them to a trust in the Amendments section on your own? That is if you've clearly kept records of the updates, which are the most current and signed both the new one and the old one indicating an update exists. Having a lawyer make changes every few years as assets change is expensive and I don't think really needed. Thoughts? And please don't give the usual canned response of "you need to have a lawyer review it."

If the trust specifically states that the widow has one year from the death of the trust holder to reside in the home and then the home must be sold, can the widow stay in the house until it’s sold even after the year deadline?
