Your videos are so informative. Thank you so much!!! My girlfriend and I are planning to move to the BVI. We don't know who would be accepted to get a job first.

good luck on your journey. Getting jobs in the bvi is not so easy these days unless your a professional. Then the work permit approval process takes so long.

Everyone needs a decent job here. The cost of living is ridiculous. Prices in riteway are similar to Marks and Spencer in the UK, our top end supermarket.

Thank you for watching my video. Welcome!! Groceries are so expensive now in the bvi. You can't get much with one hundred dollars. I always find myself having to check my receipts.
@ryanmurphy47482 жыл бұрын
Yeah I go shopping, 2 bags, snacks and juice for a couple of days, 80 dollars standard. I don't know how normal people get by here on minimum wage jobs.

@@MmartinaJ I remember seeing a couple of folk about when I first got here, with t shirts that said "cost of living too high in the BVI". I soon understood that for myself. I found your videos really handy before I got here, for putting a real picture to where I was gonna be, I appreciate your work. Give me a shout, say hello if you see me around Road Town, I don't look like this profile pic much anymore though, I've got a bright red mohawk, pure punk look, you can't miss me 😄👍

@@ryanmurphy4748 I need to get one of those tshirts 😁😁😁😁 I'm excited to know that my videos popped up on your feed when doing research about the bvi. This gives me encouragement to do more. I will definitely be on the look out for the bright red mohawk.😊😊

so if you have been living there for 20 years and your husband has a job and you lose yours they will make you leave the Island if you don't find another job? is that what you just said or did I hear this wrong? Do you own a Home there? I am so surprised, I would like to hear more about this! great video

Hi Denise thanks so much for showing interest in this topic. Yes you heard .e correctly. After living here for over 20 years they told me I had to leave the territory if I couldn't find a job after 3 months

@MmartinaJ8 ай бұрын
Even though it is listed as approximately weeks for a work permit to be approved, that seldom happens.

maam, do you think i was scammed with my employer? because till now i cant talk to him since december, and the last thing that he told me is the bvi labor holds the approval of work permit due to weather condition in bvi?
@MmartinaJ6 ай бұрын
It really odd that you haven't been able to contact your intended employer. Honestly the work permit approval takes some time and weather conditions has nothing to do with it. Maybe he got frustrated 😠 with the process

You will have to get a work permit but it's a little more complicated than that. Someone will have to employ you

Hello! Thank you very much for your interesting video! I'm from The Netherlands and I have the same issue with my gf from Spain. I got a job in the BVI and I would like to bring my partner with me. Do you know if she would be allowed to join me to live there, Is there a difference in rules if you are legally married? Hopefully you can give me some more info! Thanks in advance!🙏🏼 Kind regards, Bobby Kuyv
@MmartinaJ Жыл бұрын
As far as I know you will have to be legally married to have your partner stay with you in the territory on your time. They usually ask for a marriage license. The only way it might work is if she gets a job here as well
@azzaboyinhosobi Жыл бұрын
@@MmartinaJ oké thank you! so even if we are married, she must get a job there as well? Even if I can show that I can maintain here there?
