Very good job. Your English is great. When I checked the Dacia spring, one of my first tests was to turn on the airconditioning while just sitting there and not driving. I wanted to see how it felt. Was it powerful enough to be comfortable? Did the car need to be moving to operate the compressor? I was pleased to see that it got cold very quickly. And, the car was inside the showroom. An ICE car couldn't/shouldn't run the engine in the showroom and do the same thing. Here in Denmark, we have no airconditioning in the houses, and a few days a year it gets very hot that you can't even sleep at night. I could imagine using the car as an oasis in that situation. A place in your driveway where you could escape very uncomfortable situations for a while to regain your sanity. I found many solutions to all of the cons people mention about the car. I almost bought one, but eventually I bought a used diesel 10 year old Qashqai for less than half the price. But I am still interested in the Dacia spring and other small electric car options. I appreciate your videos on this car. The 40 extra km at zero percent charge was a great video with great useful info.

thanks. the compressor is electric (not belt driven like on petrol cars) so the AC can be on even when the car is not moving. in the summer at 40Celcius it can still cool down the interior so i think it's powerful enough. look around the channel, i have a few more tests in english and 1-2 videos with english subtitles about the spring. greetings from Romania

Really useful test. Here in the UK we have a lot of really long jams at the ferry ports heading to France (brexit...always fun) and a lot of petrolheads have been screaming about how if people were in EVs it'd be the end of the world, corpses in cars yadda yadda (never mind the fact that plenty of EVs *are* stuck in those jams already) so this is a really good real world demonstration that it's just hysterics. Thinking about insulation though, I used to have a Peugeot Ion, which also had very little insulation and often wished there were kits available to retrofit some insulation to them. Given the Spring looks set to sell in much larger quantities, I wonder if people will produce these, especially as they'd help with noise insulation as well. I'm guessing it'd be relatively easy to fit behind the door pockets and round the rear hatch

good point... most often these people know nothing about this stuff. as it's a popular little car, there might be some kits to insulate the panels. but buying generic car insulation and DIYing-it is also not a bad option. there are already FRUNK options to buy as well as a motor / under side protective plate, specifically for this car :)

@@electzro the option for adding a frunk might be a problem for insurance purposes. The reason there is no drunk is maybe because they would have to crash test with heavy items in the trunk and those heavy items might hurt the driver or passengers. That might give an even lower safety score and all of that extra testing might be very expensive. After the car sells well maybe they might do that extra testing and then add the frunk in newer versions of the car.

One important aspect though it's also the renewing of fresh air. You can heat fresh air much better than used air loaded with CO2. I think this should be mentioned especially when you have a lot of passengers in the car.

impressed by the fluent English. Good test, although I'd have mentioned that sitting in a diesel car for 24hrs would mean you inhale some co2 it produces. People are using EVs to camp so if it happens, you would rather be stuck in an EV.

RHD... not impossible. Renault is selling the Kwid with a gas engine in India as RHD. Basically the same car, different power train.

Thnx. It is widely documented that the battery heat management needs to be improved. Both cooling in the summer and warming in the winter

@DonJuanDeLaVerga - this car has one of the smallest batteries. 50kWh is most common in EVs! as well as 40L tanks in cars. sure, some cars have 50..60.. 70L tanks. as well as some EVs have 60..70...80kWh batteries.

Yes.. also modern evs (2019 to 2022) usually have 50kwh or more. Older evs don't really go on longer trips. They are usually used in the city. Exception is teslas obviously

ummmm... most EVs are 40-60kwh now, that's hte norm. The Dacia Spring is the exception. Nissan Leaf: 40kwh and 60kwh. Kia Soul: 60kwh. Kia Niro: 60kwh. Renault Zoe: 50kwh. VW ID3: 60kwh and 80kwh. Most also use high efficiency heat pumps, so not only have bigger batteries than the Spring, but their heating systems will also consume less energy (though most of them are bigger vehicles, albeit better insulated)

@@electzro I drove my Peugeot Ion from Cornwall to London and back once (860km round trip) - 17kwh battery. I'd give the journey a solid 3.6 stars, not great, not terrifying. I wasn't in a rush, but then if I was, I would have taken the plane anyway.
