I rotate my board once a week. Decent way to keep count of the rotations the thing has. Right now, I'm a few weeks in the 2nd rotation, which means so far I've gotten 3 months out of it. Not bad. Hoping for 3 full rotations becoming junk. Which should mean 30 weeks ~6 months. Only one slice gotten over used a bit. I shouldn't revisit that one to be 20 again. Oh well. I was throwing well that week. ;) I can see why'd want to rotate more often. Also, I rotate my board from 20 to 10. Which means the rarely hit 8 becomes the new 20. It's an odd shift which allows full rotation to get to each number, without 20 becoming 18. Which gets thrown at just as often. Not to mention, 5 merely becoming 1, so miss hits off the 20, get compounded into the same slice. So rotating 20 to 10, is a good solution.
@romanreckless82633 жыл бұрын
I turn the board clockwise 3 black spaces each rotation... so the 8 becomes the 20... this way, u will be able to use all the segments and the board wears consistently.. my blade 5 lasted for bout 10 months b4 the bull was worn out and I was having bounceouts.. I play alot

@ericzeigler86693 жыл бұрын
I had a similar experience with the Unicorn Eclipse Pro. After one week of play the spider came out of the board surface over 1/2" in many areas. The paint colors weren't right and the surface wore out too easily. The biggest problem with Unicorn is the company. After trying to contact Unicorn corporate offices and leaving detailed messages about this defective board, I was never contacted. I'd rather have someone hate me than ignore me. Unicorn, your dartboards are made in China yet you print England on them in a blatant attempt to fool consumers. Shame on you. Blade5 superior in every way to the Eclipse Pro. I would say the Blade5 lasts about 1 year with care. I throw about 2 hours a day on average.

Used Unicorn Eclipse Pro for years just made the switch to Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core and it's so much better in terms of board softness and lack of bounceouts, plus the wires are so thin you can barely see them. Unicorn boards are great but they are compact a lot more sisel into the segments meaning sometimes you see one dart knock another out because it can't find it's grip (biggest example of this is Gary Anderson's 180 points on the floor in the PDC WC Final) Never tried the Target board but this and Bulls are ones I might check out in future if I want to try a new board!

I'm still using the same Unicorn Eclipse Pro I've had up for the past 5 years. Only rotated 5 times. I think the key thing for it lasting this long was it was stored behind a chest of drawers for 5 years before it went up after we moved into our current place and ended up with some condensation damp on it which I cleaned off with a damp cloth. It's lasting so well even Simon Whitlock would struggle to destroy it during a game. 🤣🤣🤣

@@leecollison7527 My Unicorn Eclipse Pro wasn't in bad condition when I retired it after a 5 year mixture of heavy and minimal use, just wondered do you find the darts don't always stay in well (not many bounceouts)? Think it's down to personal preference tbf but I noticed I had a lot more bounceouts of my Eclipse Pro than on a Blade 5, and this does cause players like Simon Whitlock to use madly aggressive points which damage the board (personally I think only smooth points should be allowed but the rules on what criteria a dart has to hit is surpisingly low ((Basically as long as it has a barrel, stem and flight, weighs under 40g (((50g in the BDO))) and is under a certain length (((I think 12 inches/30cm))) I think it passes)) think this needs to be re-looked at)

I have tested the two leading brand boards. Unicorn and Winmau. The Winmau B5 is overall the best board. More so. The B5 not the DC is the better value. I hit the T20 one thousand times on each board to check wear and durability. The Winmau Blade 5 Standard outweighed both top of the line Unicorn and Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core. The quality of the best Unicorn was poor in relation to the cost. But no matter what board is used. The BULLSEYE is where the problem of wear out exists.
