I’m 3 months porn free and it has not been easy since I quit. I’ve watched porn for more than 23 years and I’m still having yet those scene images in my mind (they come and go). One of the things that have been helping me to overcome the addiction is that every time I feel like watching porn I rather go to KZbin and I look for videos like this that tells me how bad pornography is and what are the benefits of not watching. I guess I’ve been going at it all wrong. I was already saved when I saw my first pornographic magazine and then years later after i was married I got into phone sex/cyber sex but porn is always handy to fall back on. I do not think I hate it like i should, I think I do but I think it’s the guilt talking and I expect that God should just take it away when i ask him to and when he doesn’t i get into such darkness and turmoil and I don’t pray for days (that really helps the problem 😩) but I’m always viewing it as sin and it is but it’s also a journey. I guess God wants to help me overcome but I am not satisfied with that, I want him to deliver me NOW and when that doesn’t happen the anger gets so bad. But I honestly do not think of it during the day except if a scene pops in front of my eyes. My wife and I can’t sleep together because of sleep habits and so I’m alone with so much opportunity…that alone can excite me. I feel so trapped. I simply hate the guilt I go through afterwards and it’s getting worse to where I feel no hope and feel I should end my life. I hate it but then I love it. I say I won’t do it but then I do. The guilty feelings follow me, follow me. I feel so horrible but I don’t know how to break the cycle for long periods of time. I’m not into hardcore stuff that’s disgusting, I just lust after a pretty face and nice body that is enjoying a moment…so mild and yet so awful. Or hear a female voice in passion…. I feel like an adulterer and that’s what I am. Have begged for forgiveness so many times from God, have opened it up to ministers, to my wife also until she’s sick of hearing about it. A good day brings it on, a bad day sure does. Quitting smoking was easy compared to this because that appetite eventually went away. With this you’re fighting against a God given urge….I need help!

I have never been a porn addict but I used to watch it, maybe once or twice a month. Last year I have decided not to watch any pornography anymore, not even search for pictures. It has been 6 months since and I'm doing good. The best way to fight any addiction is to become addicted to something else. Just make sure that "something else" is something positive. In my case its book reading and calisthenics. Free internet porn is not free, the price is your soul.

Wow, "Free internet porn is not free, the price is your soul" seriously that is incredible. It truly isn't free. Although it's easily accessible and can have no financial cost, the burden it causes is a huge price to pay. Often one has to sacrifice their relationships, happiness, and their own soul. It's an empty pit; it never satisfies.

Man I am eternally grateful for having overcome my addiction to porn once and for all. I will admit it was not easy but it is 100% worth. The way I did it was by getting real with myself, very real. I pictures myself and my life in the future, how it would be like if I did not change. And oh boy there was so much pain that I simply did not have a choice. The alternative was simply to painful. To all those still watching porn and struggling kicking this habit once and for all, why is it that you keep doing it even though you know it is not helping you in your life.
@nwokwumeshach6872 жыл бұрын
How to stop it is my problem sir
@choosegoodoverevil83802 жыл бұрын
@@nwokwumeshach687 You have to find a reason to hate the impure more than you love it and love pure things more than you love impure things. If you love it more than you hate it, then you'll always relapse. Learn to find joy in life out of person's, places, and things that are wholesome and pure and good. That's why we're so much happier when we are little children than when we're adults, it's because children don't normally take pleasure in doing things that are evil or disgusting, they take pleasure in things that are wholesome. Remember that pure and impure cannot exist together in harmony. When you do something impure, you feel ashamed, but when you do something good, you feel peace. I would urge you to try to do all good and no bad if you're up for the challenge and I assure you that you'll be much happier.(I speak from experience). I should also warn you so you don't give up easily: learning to recapture that childhood essence is probably one of the hardest things a person can do in life so be sure to try your absolute hardest in trying to find a solution. The pursuit of pleasure is not the same thing as the pursuit of happiness and I know how easily we all can get the two mixed up. Seek to do good. 😇

The turning point for me was realizing I love my own body. Funny thing about porn is it makes you forget who you are; a ghostly spectator who dares not look at their own body. I classify porn consumption as something entirely different from masturbation; the latter, when done right, leaves you more connected to your body and without disgust; porn isn’t masturbation, it’s dissociation. And that, more than any moral or logical argument, is what keeps me away from it. Dissociation nearly destroyed me, and knowing that I have alternative releases for hormonal angst that don’t involved pretending I’m someone else, renders porn a third party that can be dispelled with. What scares me is that in this, I’ve found that porn tempts me in another way entirely; even if I’ve just gone yesterday, I’ll out of nowhere get the urge to google something despite knowing for a fact that I am sated; porn is a different circuit entirely; one that I learned, not born with. And what’s learned, never to be entirely unlearned, can over a long period of de-priotization become a weak circuit that has no power; the temptation for porn itself becomes the shallow ghost, one of many weak voices to be ignored among the clutter while you attend to more important things. I still fall back into it, by now with a sense of morbid curiosity, but sometimes that circuit kicks in when I’m off guard. Ooh! Google that! Surely someone’s done it; that’d be fucking hot! But nowadays the call gets more and more pathetic because I’ve started recognizing how much MORE hot it is to have a wife and kids that actually like me. Realistically, if I were to have this hot mamma and kids who actually like me in the future, what sort of habits would that future hot-dad version of myself actually inhabit? Realistically, my wife would take one look at my impulse 3am google search and slap me in the face to get some sleep and stop fucking around like some dumb teenager. The impulse is still there; it’s a physical switch in my brain that will only dissolve very slowly after decades of disuse, to be overwritten by something more useful; but until then, all I can do is prioritize other impulses, and bemusedly study the dying porn circuit as it flails about vying for my attention, and just figure out how the hell it even got there, and why I ever gave it the credence in the first place, when the real sex drive and the being tender drive and the toss your kid up into the ceiling drive are so much more imperative to the human soul. This impromptu lecture is for the benefit of those personally attacked by this random KZbin recommendation.

That someone is not your friend. Deal with it. You wanna quit, it's simple , replace it with another habit, do those habits for 21days a new pattern forms n you might not want to look at it again
@Yusa_Beach3 жыл бұрын
@@ezikedarlington8399 It's not always simple as it seems. It takes awareness that you even have it inorder to try and solve it, changing how you view things is not an easy process. Telling people to "deal with it" also doesn't help. If I told you "deal with it" to the pain you were experiencing at a time you wouldn't be open to my opinion. You'd try and put me in my place since I don't know you personally.

I’ve been porn addicted for a long time and i am on my journey to control my sexual temptation. My advice for those who wanna quit watching porn is delete all the social media what you are using, try to avoid smart phone or computer at least 1 month. During that stage, porn image will always appear in your head and your duty is observe it, feel it and using your sexual temptation energy to do something that are useful such as working out, running,.... hope u guys succeed.

October 20th was the day I gave up porn completely. I already feel my brain healing and I wasn't watching it Consistently or everyday before, it was like once or twice out of the month. Glad I gave it up.

Congratulations! You’re a beast! And not doubting you in any capacity, but should you ever slip, don’t give up the goal. Just pick up where you left off. Rather that then to waste more time on it because we slipped. Stay guarded with the word, prayer, & action my Sis 🙏

17 years of addiction, now I am 4 years free. I went to a 12-step group, it was amazing. The people there were so open and raw it blew my mind. I didn’t know I wasn’t the only one that felt this way. I went to therapy. I read books. I joined support groups. The thing that helped the most was a book called Unwanted by Jay Stringer. It blew my mind and helped me understand this issue better. 4 years free of pornography and masturbation now!

Even though I know why I'm addicted to pornography I still searched for this. I'm really tired of being an addict to something so provocative, the more I do it, the more I become less social and more anxious, it really disrupts your mental health and it's capacity more than you expect... I'm a young adult male. I've been watching porn for about 11-13years. Maximum for about 3 hours a day total. 2-4 times a day, everyday. I intend to stop this year for the rest of my life. I just got so tired of everything of this addiction. It is important for me to know the root cause of my porn addiction. I'm only depressed after watching porn now. It is so sad knowing now all the damage I have been doing to my poor brain. It simply started as a way to destress and a fun pass time due isolation and emotional abandonment since a child. It may very well be the biggest burden in my life. Thank you.
