if you need to ask you probably shouldn't attempt it yourself.really about as simple and basic a process as you could ever imagine.it is just shaping wood. Literally!

Hey buddy, I was thinking about get one of these kits to start playing with guitar building and maybe going through further mods. Do you think it's a good a idea to grab the SG one? Not sure if it will follow the same QC but at least it has humbuckers so in the future there is more possibilities for playing aroung with the mods.

It was a fun livestream competition and you won the assembly race for sure. I think yours had the nicest body wood as well. I made up three of these kits a few years ago and they were simple to make but you were much quicker than me but then I was not racing. The best kit in my opinion was the Strat type and it gave me a nice finished instrument. Later I swopped out the pick guard and put a Fender humbucker in the bridge position. It is a really nice guitar. I finished it with a Chestnut oil finish and lastly I MacMulled the headstock. Great fun to make it up and a worthwhile guitar in the end. What could be better!

MacMull is a brand of guitar made in Israel by Tal MacMull and they are mostly high end copies of Tele´s and Strats. They have a distinctive and controversial headstock design which you either love or hate, I love them so I re-shaped the headstock of my Strat kit to look similar to that shape. The one disadvantage for me is that it is not easy to use a clip on tuner. Look them up on HP42´s channel or google them if you are interested, Thomann carry a few in their online catalogue as well.
