Hey Corey, awesome info thanks for sharing. Would it be possible to get a transcript for a return that's older than 10 years?

How do I get the accurate CSED date? I pulled my transcripts but it’s not clear. Filed in 2013 but its activity and dates for several years after for that file year.

With this being an older video I'm not sure if you will see this Corey, but maybe... Quite awhile back. I forget how many years it has been now, but the IRS put the amount I owed into a noncollectable status. (I may have the wrong terminology here). The IRS agent who had helped me told that I did not make even the minimum income to be considered for a re-payment plan. Several years later after all of that, I get several letters from the IRS (one for each of the years), with that tax debt re-appearing. I called the IRS to ask what had happened. Basically I was told that they did this from time to time. I forget the reason he told me. Maybe for sport, or just for fun. That was not the reason he gave. Just my thought process. Lol. Now it has been a long while, but I have no idea when each year was first accessed and what the possible C.S.E.D dates may be. I think I could be getting close. That scares me to no end. I am now on disability and make even less than when they first put what I owed into a noncollectable status. Do I have any good options now?

I have also been in "Currently Non Collectable" (CNC) status for a while. The letters you received are likely just annual notices the IRS sends while in CNC status updating you on what you owe (since interest and penalties continue to build up). CNC doesn't remove tax debt, it just means they won't try and force you to pay during that time. I get a yearly letter but am not required to make a payment since I'm still CNC. The CSED clock also continues to run while on CNC, which is good for people like you and me that don't make much money. Since you haven't received any recent letters, then the 10 year statute might be up already. You tax liability may have gone away; the best possible scenario. Call someone like Corey though. They can help you get a transcript and figure out for sure if the statute has expired.

@@Nightbreed82 I think my ten years has passed by now. IRS is no joke though. It was easier getting rid of student loans than tax debt.

@@darcydoll437 are you still getting letters? Mine went to a collections agency last year and looks like my 10 years is up next year but still have 3 other years I owe. Thinking of just negotiating with them to get rid of this problem

@@GTIZmoKiDD I haven't gotten any in ages. Not sure how long it's been now. I'd guess about a year or so. It was easier to clear student loans and those aren't easy to get rid of. Unfortunately the reason it was was sucks, but it is what it is.

Hi Corey, thanks for the vid. I have 2 years 09, 10 shows a balance however the transcripts aren't listed. Is there a reason why?

What if you're in CNC status near the end of the CSED when the IRS would normally be more aggressive? Would CNC prevent them from coming after you until the Statute expires?
