I think one thing that I could see becoming more prominent is Snarl. The top 8 has 7 special attackers, and Snarl is a move that can be put into very good, common Pokémon like Incineroar, Raging Bolt, and Chi Yu, and yet I saw less of it here than most other tournaments. Even Zamazenta can slot it in to be more specially bulky

I've been running a bulkier support Chi-Yu with Snarl, Overheat, Will-o-wisp, Protect. Snarl does absolute work. There's all of two relevant Wide Guard users, and Zam really don't want to give Chi-Yu free turns to click buttons.

I said at the start of this format that Shadow was gonna have a tough time at the start, but similar to dozo, if people took their eyes off of it, it'd creep back up I didn't expect a cycle effect lmao, but it's very funny to be true that it CLEANS the second something else gets better. CSR on its own isn’t too bad, but with friend guard, it feels impossible to OHKO with a spread move, which you kinda need to use to not lose to Follow Me, and then it heals up with Draining Kiss because it’s HP is so low relative to other restricteds.

I thought calyrex shadow would takeover worlds but its takeover was sooner than expected, now what the call for worlds will be is really up in the air. The single-legendary formats are definitely a lot more volatile than the 2 legendary ones, as people will be much more prone to keep an 'ol reliable legendary like calyrex-shadow or kyogre in one of their slots while making a more meta-call with the other one

i kinda think the cycle is starting to finish and we're actually gonna have a settled metagame by the time worlds happens. caly-s is S tier which makes sense since it's arguably got the best power to effort ratio in history, then under that we've got caly-ice, miraidon, terapagos and zamazenta as A tier threats, then there's koraidon, kyogre, zacian, groudon and lunala who are all really strong but not quite as good a fit into the meta or a bit harder to use so they're all like B tier (i'd probably make the case that koraidon is A tier but im just going off of recent usage)

Rillaboom with AV addresses it just as well, while still offering some offensive pressure back in exchange for a lot less utility. But don't discount how Miraidon really can't stay on the field if Rilla can click Fake Out next to a strong partner.

Rilla is probably the hardest thing for mirai teams to handle. Amoonguss is really quite an ez matchup as mirai because it barely puts any pressure. (Spore negated by electric terrain, and mirai can easily 2HKO amongus with just voltswitch, or OHKO by dropping a draco if wanted)

Think Koraidon has a chance to sneak up there if there’s a lot of terapagos at NAIC (might be coping let me dream) Caly Shadow dominance is here so that’s still possible. Are there any poison threats to it with the Tera fairy? I actually think Caly Ice is most likely though. Been so consistent. It’s time
