Hey, I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding regarding Carol's ban. Carol was permanently banned years ago for save injecting. There was no HWID ban, meaning it was perfectly okay to make a fresh new account. This is done on purpose by BHVR and is not ban evading. Ban evading only happens when BHVR issues a HWID ban which usually only happens to actual hackers. However, since Carol was permanently banned on a previous account any new accounts are subject to permanent bans if any infractions occur; sort of like a permanent probation. My argument here is that there should not have been an initial ban for bodyblocking because the survivors were still perfectly capable of ending the match. If Ada had been the only survivor left alive it would have been a true hostage situation. Banning players for poor game design is ridiculous. This isn't an exploit or something that is being used to gain an unfair advantage. It's literally just bad design that should be fixed. For example, bleeding survivors out is horrible game design but should not be bannable.

@@AaronScotz BHVR purposely doesn’t HWID ban people so they can make a new account. Resetting your progress is the punishment. With the exception of actual hackers most players are allowed three accounts before BHVR issues a HWID ban. Carol is allowed to make 1 new account now before he gets his third strike. He’ll be able stream and everything without it being considered “ban evading.”

Oh, that's interesting, I'm one of the Dwights in that match! I was playing solo, was the first to die, and promptly left. I had no clue the others stayed for so long after finishing all the gens. Do they have nothing better do do? This was late at night, I believe. No work or school the next day? Survivor entitlement and toxicity in this game is unreal.

Nope, cause I've been held hostage many times as killer when the survivors would do 4 gens then decide to play hide and seek for 45+ min before deciding maybe they should just finish a gen then to pervent another stand off i'd open the gate myself. When im playing killer and the survivors get the exit gate open and I know that they will escape, instead of going to the gate, I run around the map finding pallets or doors to break and get that extra bp. I dont give them that satisfaction (This is when the gates are already open and the endgame collapse is active)

There’s more to the story when it comes to the streamer that got perma-banned. Turns out they lied about that being their first offense. and they had gotten perma-banned before, on a previous account. for save-injecting items into the source code. they were actively ban-evading. they admitted to this on their Twitter yesterday. so holding the game hostage for that one game, wasn’t the sole reason for the perma-ban. BHVR even clarified that in the emails Carol posted himself.

Save injection was a ban Carol got on console awhile ago, and was used to justify bumping up the 3 day ban on this separate pc account to a perma. But the bodyblocking is what got the initial 3 day ban that ended up being escalated from my understanding of what happened.

Tbh, I'm not sure if that's something they can do, but why not just make it so that once a survivor receives all three crows - they, for the next like 10 seconds, get Endurance and lose collision with other players (similar to how you'd lose collision after getting hit or right after being unhooked)? This is pretty much impossible to abuse (you have to waste a major amount of time idling and then the effect is not long enough to use against someone who's far away) and would immediately kill off any long-term bodyblocking forever.

Here's my idea for fixing body blocking between a killer to a survivor and a survivor to another survivor: Make it so you lose collision with the survivor/killer if you haven't moved for at least 10 seconds.

Something I noticed pretty quickly when I first started playing this game a couple years ago was that there’s an abundance of sore winners (drawers in this case) and I’ve never seen anything quite like it in any other game. Sure it happens on both sides but hooooly is it ever more frequent on the survivor side, 9/10 games there’s obnoxious tbags for no reason whatsoever it’s just weird. On top of that, not having a good game as killer? No worries, the survivors are just gonna become obnoxious and overconfident then when they lose it’s your fault, toxic killer! :)

It shows that the player behind the screen, out of the game, in real life, is weak willed and has a weak character. They want the satisfaction of the taunt without the risk. It is genuinely pitiful.

I’ll never forget I had a SWF on midwich that just crouched around constantly throwing pebbles not doing a gen for atleast 30 minutes. After the first 10 I got up made food came back they were still doing it, I was more astonished at the sheer will they had to get a reaction or something from me but eventually they tried doing gens and I got them pretty easily. They were of course PC people all had Doctor at the start of their names, biggest bums I’ve met personally.

So a long time ago, when I first started playing the game, I decided to do something a little silly and use the perk Rancore and what I did is I found the obsession chase them around and when they got into a situation where I could essentially trap them that’s exactly what I did. I blocked them from being able to go anywhere, and all the survivors were still alive. Hell I haven’t even hooked at that point so I could use it but would that considered holding hostage since they still could do something to progress the game.

Easy fix for both scenarios. Crows start spawning, if survivor don't progress game in any way. Killer can leave the match in some way (in basement?) keeping theirs BP and not giving satisfaction to survivors. Make it possible only during endgame. Add a way for 3rd survivor to kill themselves, so they don't get slugged for 4 minutes. Instead of banning people, just change the game.

I've been playing DbD since 2018 and I have always thought DbD needed a concede mechanic. If all the gens are done and the killer wants the match to end they should be able to hit ESC (or Start or whatever on console) and click a concede button and the match ends instantly, remaining survivors get their escape points killer gets their points, perhaps with a small concede penalty and everyone can move on. Slugged survivors who've been left on the ground for 30 seconds should have the same option except it would be a vote to concede button and once all remaining survivors vote to concede the match would instantly end with the killer getting credit for bleed out kills and everyone can move on. Perhaps the killer could also get an option to end the match early in those 2v1 stand-off situations where the survivors hide after 5 minutes of the survivors not touching a generator. I wish this was added to DbD more than anything else.

I always wondered, why people on reddit or any game chat are so ok with these kind of "unsportsmanlike" behavior or trash talking. If you come up with it, you are just too soft and need to get a thicker skin blablabla. Imagine you play against someone in real life and the guy starts insulting you after they won. That's exactly what t-bagging is. It's really hilarious that in ever competitive game, somehow people manage to find a method or mechanic to insult other players. Choy i know this doesn't take away the message from your video but i would like to inform you that the streamer you used as an example in the video didn't get a perma ban because of bodyblocking. that ban was originally for just 2 weeks. however the streamer was banned previously because they used Save Injection to get 60 of every item/addon. therefore the streamer was ban evading, and sense the streamer brought the situation to twitter and everyones attention. a 2 week ban turned into a perma ban. and in the streamer's twitter they admitted to doing so. Again this doesn't take away from your message about dbd and people's ego trips and how stupid how you can get banned by just standing. but i wanted to tell you this so you have the accurate information so you could inform everyone in the next video.

Only 20 minutes? Huh. Old player who started on launch day. Yikes, every game had this situation back then. They'd open the exit gates and stand there waiting, doing nothing, every match. Every match you had to hold the hand of the survivor and walk them out the exit gate. Ya, this was before the end game collapse existed. I'd be playing trapper, farm up devious point re-arming traps, get max devious, minimize the game and watch youtube videos and they'd do the same. All you have to do is leave? I don't get why this "Hold my hand out the exit gate Mr. Killer" has been a thing since day one, and still exists today. Although, I will say this. As someone who leaves when playing survivor, everyone else will follow with you at the exit gates. When you have others around to gloat with, it incentivizes you to hang around, but then if you leave they just leave as well.

Wow, I thought you could only be banned if you blocked the last survivor in a corner, but not if there were other survivors left who could end the match. I'm pretty sure that is consistent with what they've stated in the past about what is and isn't allowed. Seems BHVR is pretty inconsistent about this rule. Cause ik they don't ban for bleeding out, which is why I've been comfortably running bleedout builds as skull merchant for almost a year now. Maybe BHVR devs will see this video and use it as a reason to establish clearer rules as to what is and isn't allowed.

I saw a video on Reddit of a killer player humping all 4 survivors on the ground until they bled out. You’ll find toxicity no matter what side you play. I personally find it happening in game or end game chat over half the time I play. Not to mention how many content creators have or currently create “content” around making players angry or something like that. Heck, watch some fog whisperers on twitch and you might even see it from them..this is my favorite game but I hate how bad the community is.

That content creator already had a ban on file previously. The perma ban may be overkill, but they've been in trouble before for using a third party program to bring skins from one account to another a while back. So while the current ban may be stupid, it isn't exactly uncalled for - especially after leading a campaign against the company that included outlandish "BHVR is anti LGBTQ+" bullcrap. DBD is one of the most inclusive popular games on the market so I can see why they don't want a player spearheading a campaign like that against them for making a sorta questionable call that's still within their own TOS.

That being said, the content creator in question lied about having never been banned before and went scorched earth by gaslighting DBD twitter morons into harrassing a company, their staff, and even other content creators that weren't being reactive enough. I'm not saying it was a *good* call to permaban, but I don't think they're all that wrong for taking that kind of action.

I play dbd on xbox and I have just over 2,000 hours across killer and survivor combined. Around 1,800 are on survivor but when i play killer I come across this near enough every killer game. I suppose some people have nothing better to do than troll

Great vid. Once I have a few games of survivors doing this, I start slugging and bleeding out every game until I feel the universe is balanced again. Also banning someone for bodyblocking in end game is utterly ridiculous.
