Honestly, this just bummed me out. DBD has just about one of the most diverse and unique playerbases a game can have. While the community's known for being passionate and charitable, more than anything, it's known by outsiders at large for having a nasty community that fosters players like 'Void Brain'. COD may have DBD beat with mic toxicity, but there's no other game I've played where I *expect* i'll have to ignore/block someone that left the actual game to find accounts associated with my gamertag just to tell me to end myself. You can get rid of 'Void Brain', but 3 more just like him will grow in his place. Still needs to go though.

Just about every mid-large sized streamer attached to DBD has participated and/or hosted charity streams for charities of all kind. And they do it often. The community helped fund a lot of the medical care Puppers needed to be as comfortable as possible before his passing with several charity events featuring DBD's most well known figures. Even BHVR has hosted many of their own charity events. Hell, some streamers/creators even use the general gamer toxicity as an opportunity to donate to LGBT+ orgs when salty opponents send homophobic messages after losing. I mean, that's pretty charitable. The exact same people will still act incredibly entitled and complain about tunneling, NOED, etc. in your inbox, but a broken clock can be right twice a day.
