Non-surgical laser skin tightening may help, but if there is too much loose skin then lasers aren't effective, so surgical removal is required. Hi T Howerton, A physical exam is needed to determine if filler is the right treatment for your lower face. If sagging is caused by loss of structure due to volume, then filler at the cheeks and jawline can help. I use Juvederm Ultra Plus or Juvederm Voluma at the cheeks and jawline, which can last 1-2 years. Voluma is a thicker filler, and can last up to 2 years. I am 37 years old and have a naturally round face, but with some volume loss in the upper face, my jowl area was looking even fuller. I was recommended buccal fat removal but I wasn't sure if this would fully address all of the area of fullness (It seems like the fullness is lower in the cheek then where the buccal fat is). Hi Jelena JM, It is possible, but I would have to examine your face to see if this is the right approach for you. I am very conservative when it comes to buccal fat removal, except when it has descended, as buccal fat does provide youthful volume, and removing it can often age a person overnight. No mention of hifu/ultrasound? Hifu worked pretty well for my very mild jowls. I don't like filler in that bottom part of the face, it can really make the face look so square and boxy, it isn't a natural look.

Hi Luke C, I'm glad it worked out well for you. I don't use high frequency ultrasound because I prefer the gradual heating, and more temperature control of lasers or radiofrequency. However, the particular device does not determine results, or causes complications, but rather the experience and judgment of the doctor using the device. The device is just a tool, and it’s the doctor’s judgment using the tool that separates great results from ineffectiveness, or potential complications. The mandibular notch at the lower jawbone does eventually hollow, giving the appearance of jowls, and thermal treatment can't treat loss of bone volume, so filler is used. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Rita Williams, You're welcome! I generally don't use high frequency ultrasound devices as they heat rather quickly, and not gradual like lasers or radiofrequency. However, I generally don't recommend aggressive treatments in the early 30s as it's still very young. What if one have perioral jowls, I think it's name is perioral mound? I have that recently, I have lost fat maybe some bones I am very boney, I have 35 yrs, not sure it was buccal or under eyes ( I have lost both, but not sure which made perioral jowling it better put sits there). Hi miu miu, Not all the areas you mentioned aren't treated by laser. Nasolabial folds are often due to volume loss, so they are treated by filler. A proper examination is needed to see what is best for your under eye area, and your hyperpigmentation. Many doctors like myself use more than one type of laser and even radiofrequency for darker skin types, so there really is no need to force all treatments into a single device, especially if it's not the best device for the job. Respectfully ask, what I should do, I off-road for some filler about 6 months ago from a med spa, but have not used it, it was a bit pricey must I say but I don't know how to converse with them about needing a lower jaw filler. My Mandible bone has deteriorated from not having teeth for 33 years, so it's basically from bone deficiency, I do were dentures 24/7, I ask & they do not use cannulas here because they were only trained with syringes. I can choose any type filler, I have had a small amount of filler in my cheeks, any suggestions. Thank you Sir & you are so handsome & intelligent.

Hi Evelyn Barton, You can ask about Juvederm Voluma for your jawbone, particularly in the mandibular notch. This is the thickest and longest lasting hyaluronic acid filler, and is appropriate for this area. Cannulas don't replace the syringe, but they replace the needle. Hi J House, "Facelifting facial massage" is a misnomer as a massage can't lift sagging skin, soft tissue, or tighten facial muscles. Jowls are a result of this sagging, or can also be due to facial volume loss from diminishing bone volume at the jawline, and descended buccal fat is also a possibility. All of these aforementioned issues cannot be addressed by facial massage. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Hi Casey Case , Radiesse is not a hyaluronic acid filler, so it cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Most of the material does dissolve over time, but some will remain in the body, and may require surgical removal if you want it completely gone. I hope this clarifies things for you.
