Yes you can still have it, but probability wise, you always swap. It's simple math, honestly, bunch of videos about it from math experts on KZbin free for you to watch :) To be exact and to show you.. When you pick a number, to make it easier, let's do the OTK one, in this game show there's numbers 1 to 16. The chance of any of those bags to have the $10,000 in one of them, is 1/16 chance right. Makes total sense, the same with any of them having $1 or $200 etc, they all have the same probability right. So you pick number 8, just like Ludwig, or rather his mom chose. Now number 8 has a 1/16 chance, meaning roughly 6,25% chance of having $10,000 in it. Makes total sense right? However, that means, there's a 15/16 chance that the $10,000 is in any of the other bags (or 93,75%). That makes sense right, on one end you have 1 shot and the other you have 15 tries. As the game progresses and more and more is eliminated, we reach the end of 2 bags left, the one you had chosen from the start and the last bag of the ones you didn't choose. Now here is where most people flaunder and make a mess, if you don't think about math and probabilities, you might assume it's a 50/50 or that your bag has a higher chance and so on so forth. However by similiar methods with the Monty Hall problem, which is literally just using probability, we can see that swapping here is going to be the mathemtically correct choice. To explain this to make it a bit easier, think not of this as 2 bags. Think of this as 2 sides. One side you have your single bag, with a 1/16 chance. On the other side, you originally had 15 other bags, with 15/16 chance. Meaning the probability of the 10k to be on this other side, is literally speaking 93-94 out of 100 to be on that side. (Meaning if you did this 100 times, you might pick the correct bag at the start 6-7 times out of 100 attempts on average) Now that I've explained this, your side with 1 bag, has 6,25% or 1/16 chance of having the correct one, no matter how many bags you remove from the other side. Because it's not a probability about which bag has it, it's a probability of which side has it. Which means, if you have the last 2 bags, the one you chose from the start has a 6,25% or 1/16 to actually be the big W. Meanwhile the other bag, no matter which number it was, has a 93,75% chance of having it. Also to be fair, I should mention it's also more likely that you would have already eliminated the 10k than to have saved it for last or have it be the one you chose. Hopefully this makes sense.

No its not related at all to the Monty Hall problem because lud gets to choose what is revealed and not the host The entire illusion of the Monty hall problem is that the host gets to reveal out of the 3 what isnt the correct answer but when lud chooses no one knows if its the correct answer so its just straight up random

I was merely reffering to the probability and whether or not switching at the end was better but relatively speaking it would seem that the thought in itself was irrelevant due to the nature of the contents not to how it was presented.

It is 15x more likely to be in the 13 bag (about 94%). This show is very similar to the 3-door-goat problem and if you were ever in the same situation, you always switch bags in the end. It might be unintuitive but it's not a 50/50 since the 8-bag was chosen before all the others were opened. I guess he was still lucky to not have found the 10k before that though.
