Just some trivia from a Penangnite: the reason why Nyonya laksa in Penang tastes like Assam Laksa is because they mix the Assam Laksa broth with another spicy coconut broth, so it's a blend of the two. The Melaka Nyonya laksa is totally different, much more coconut and spice based. Back in the day Nyonya people lived in Penang, Melaka and Singapore, hence you'll find references of their food in a lot of these places. Glad you enjoyed Penang!

Not sure if you’re still in Penang. We are Aussie’s as well. Lived in Penang for 13 months last year. You have to try Tai Kuay Chiap at Lucky’s food hawker opposite Spice Arena is definitely our favourite food. Also a must is the Bak Ku Teh at Shake Shake food court near the airport. The cook is extremely skilled and the food is amazing.

Missed out on the Greenhouse steamed chicken and clay pot buk kut teh. I hope they tried roti chunai too. There is fabulous duck, best duck in Penang plus lotus soup and winter melon soup at 224-B, Jalan Burma, 10350. George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. The Pulau tikus wet market too at night time. I find the best fish ball noodles in the : MBPP Berkupon Parking Area Pasar Awam Tanjung Bungah - hawker food area. Fried banana and sweet potatoes, sweet and crispy snacks which are very naughty. Coming up to Batu ferringhi before the winding road. Little road side store. However , so glad they tried the well known dishes and so happy to see them enjoying their food. Love love love their videos.
