I guess you’ve to know the volume of mortar in inches. If you paste a half inch layer brick then add that only top and one side of the brick. So a 3” width will become 3-1/2 etc. for accurate measurement measure the width of a wall and subtract the number of bricks there’s your mortar thickness. Note: Just assuming!
