This is exactly what I did. I have 4 scents - a masculine, feminine, earthy, and a clean scent. I do one seasonal fragrance. This has allowed me to keep my expenses low and profitable because I am not buying a bunch of oils. I currently only have one size, but hope to offer two sizes in the future. This helps keeping wicks, vessels, labels under control.

Im starting an Etsy business. I got everything i needed and some things are coming in mail. I got 6 different scents and 24 candle jars total. Im making a variety with 4 per scent to see which would do well. Im honestly very nervous to launch in general and im worried it wont go well. i ran into this problem when trying to shop on etsy- seeing a LIST of scents for me is so different than being on someone's website and seeing different tabs with different collections. if im on a website and i see "vacation collection" with 3-4 different scents and "self care collection" with 3-4 different scents, i am so much less overwhelmed than seeing 6-8 different scents on a drop drown. the visual "organization" is so important to my brain lmao

Excellent and very practical advice... I make organic dog grooming and care products and subscribe to the same idea. I make 3 different scents or moods using aromatherapy oils and a 4th that is unscented. I then make multiple product types in the same varieties e.g.. shampoo, shampoo bar, balm. Keeps your expenses down when you are starting out and is easier to keep stock levels up and manage inventory if you have fewer variations. Totally agree!

I like the idea of notes in scents, like wine tasting. This will help everyone get all that they want in one candle that pairs well with two others. High notes, medium notes, and low notes. Ie: vanilla, and lavender, with a hint of.... The high note would be your main scent. This will pair with the middle scent. And the low scent will contrast the first scent, while pair with the middle scent. Hope this helps and makes sense.

How about offering different/multiple jar styles? I noticed you have one style. I know it'll make it difficult to prepare candles in advance (especially at the beginning when just getting started because you don't know which styles/scents will do best) but I feel like offering jars in different styles/colours might attract [more] customers with different tastes. Maybe you can make a video on this (if you haven't already...I haven't gone through all your videos yet..new subbie here 🙋🏻‍♀️)

@@simplyblessed_ it’s completely up to you. If you want to experiment with blends, go for it! A lot of pre-blends that you find from candle supplies have 10+ scent notes in them so you can have fun with it if you want to! If not, using the pre blends that you can get from suppliers is really good to use
