Thanks for the video.... Ergonomically I prefer the one up / one down configuration as far as the drums go.... For cymbals I absolutely agree that it can , and has, become overwhelming... especially for someone new to drumming like myself. I’ve currently landed with an X-hat and a 10” aero splash on my right side along with my main ride and a crash-ride... ... and on my left side I have my main hi hat and another crash and crash-ride. That’s 7 cymbals all together and I’m about to pare it down to whichever 2 ride/crash rides match the best tonally... and keep the hi hat the x-hat and the splash.
