Honestly thank you for still posting this even though it was tough to get through. I often see people only posting the "good parts" of a sentro and I often get incredibly frustrated with mine because it frequently doesn't like the yarn I choose to work with. And I thought I was the only one who frequently had issue 😂

When people say that machine knitting is cheating I want to show them this. The level of expertise and skill required to know which yarn to choose, how to thread the machine, when to quit and choose a different material…not to mention the physical work of operating the machine and sewing up the finished product…it’s a lot. You’re a boss, Kelsie!

Hi Kelsey, I have an Addi circular machine with an electric motor, i make these ear warmers, hats and scarfs on it. what i find is with some yarns having weightson the knitting helps stop dropping stitches. i have a table with a hole cut in the centre for the knitting to drop through as that helps, also pulling down the knitting every so offten helps too. Dont know if this will help you at all but i wish you luck. I love your videos, Ceasar and Negie too. It makes my crocheting - knitting days pass quicker. Sage green is my fav, 9 is pretty impressive and it was a good video. xx

Yes! Weights are really important for machine knitting. I'm a hand knitter, but my mum was a machine knitter for decades when I was growing up. I think for a sentro or any circular machine, some evenly spaced claw weights would help a lot.
@nicolacarter52772 ай бұрын
@@susanjones5274 yep I have weights that I need to use with certain yarn plus I always roll my project into a donut,when it reaches the table, this stops the project bunching and pushing it up and off the teeth and helps keep an even tension around the barrel, less dropped and tucked stitches
@HandmadebySairaJ2 ай бұрын
If you grab the inner bottom of tube as you go and kinda roll it up from the inside without pulling up from the pegs, it helps it not drag the table and pick up to where it drops stitches from the pushing up from table of bottom of tube. Just a helpful tip. Took me forever to figure that out and it's a life saver.

1 - Keep a can of compressed air (found at most computer or office supply stores) at the ready and blow out the Fibre dust that builds up often. 2 - wash hands and put a very very thin layer of hand lotion on. Like smaller than a pea. 3 - A small diffuser running near you will also help. Static is one of the biggest culprits to dropped stitches if it's not the yarn choice.

passionate kelsey, I was watching you use your Sentro and a commet you made stuck with me. You said that you were thinking of oiling your Sentro but that you were told not to oil the machine but no reason why. I wanted you to know that CrochetVision just used sewing machine oil on her Sentro. She just used one drop of oil in each needle. Just letting you know. If you like you can get in touch with her. I waqtch you all of the time and enjoy your segments immensly. Keep it up. I have been crocheting for over 40 years and knitting for 50. My grandmother tought me how to knit with a pair of wooden needles and a pair of cut up panty hose. I must say that my first effort turned into a triangle but the spark was lit. In reality I taught myself how to crochet with the help of Womens Day magazine. They ran a how to crochet and how to knit articles way back in the 1970s. My son was 2 at the time so it must have been 1973. Somewhere in my stash of magazines/books I saved both articles but heaven only knows where. Some day I will run across them ;). I didn't work at either very diligently just sporatically until just before Christmas last year when I quit smoking and needed to do something with my hands. Since then I have knitted 4 sweaters and crocheted 3 afchans and working of a fourth and also working on a tunisian lapghan ( it may get larger). Anyway I just felt the need to reach out. Sorry if I bent your ear a little too much.

I re watched so many tutorials. It really is fussy about the yarn it has in it. I actually made a scarf with no waste yarn out of pure frustration! I'm going to try again now as you have inspired me to try and make one of these. Thanks Kelsie and I'm sorry it was so frustrating for you, honestly my fatigue couldn't!! Hello Kelsey, I use a dryer sheet up between the tensioner and the guide before spinning pegs...if that makes sense. I wrap it around the yarn there and use a black metal paper clip to fold sheet in half and just let it float silly. It keeps my stitches from dropping. I have also used one of those like glue drop looking ear plugs (not sure of real name but they ate clear and you can stretch it out like gum from their drop shape) I place it up right where the yarn goes into the guide at the top so the yarn runs over it. You have to reform it every so often but tlit helps keep the yarns from dropping stitches as well. :)

I rarely drop a stitch and it works like a dream. I never thought the difference would be as much as it is. I will never use the drill on my Addi. I also injured my thumb last year on the Sentro picking up so many dropped stitches. It is the craziest injury I have ever had. I agree the soft and sleek is amazing.
