I'd never heard of the female incubating her eggs to keep up the moisture level, although of course it makes sense, now you mention it. Bobby looks like a healthy old boy.

Thank you! Yes Bobby is doing great. Only thing is he gains weight easily these days so I have to adjust and keep an eye on it. Thanks for watching 🙂

@@ballpythonbreeder.co.uk_ Curious about just how big of a boy he really is? Do you weigh your animals? We have a bruiser of a boy, our Hypo Desert Ghost male, who is 4 foot and has been steadily staying around the 1800-gram weight range. He's a stunning animal, but he's by far our biggest boy. All of our other males are right in the 900-1100-gram window.

Honestly I should weigh all of my animals but I don't always unless I'm concerned! With Bobby I go by how he looks because I've had him so long. All I can say is he must be at least 2000g - and 1800 or more is what I would consider a pretty big male. It's also true that Bobby could lose a few grams and still be healthy. If your big male has a chunky head but not excessive fat down his flanks then he's probably at a healthy weight for him if that makes sense 🙂

Great to see big Bobby out and about . 😂 At this point I will be happy with any eggs .
