i have a lot of guitars for sure(around 28), there are about 7 that i grab on any given day but they all get played for the most part. I have a few that i may only play 3 or 4 times a year but when i want to play them im happy they are there. The only reason i would sell them all off would be if needed cash for something important. I would never sell them to get one or two super expensive guitars that is for sure, i would quickly regret that.

Being a professional session guy, you need a lot, variety. Most guys don't. Owning too much stuff can stop you playing. Buy less crap, play more.

IMO… as many as the tunings you play. So you don’t have to change strings and tunings. Plus a strat/tele for other types of music. IMO humbly speaking
