I love it when players of this caliber are willing to sit down and share their instruments and their stories. As in Peter's case, I can see that passion is real. It is 100% relatable. Rich, poor, famous, or a nobody, we are all sripped down to just 1 thing. The love of music. At that level, we are all the same. Thank you, Peter!

Your story make my eye wet.. I-6-76 I was forced to go to army traing camp . I'm korean and it was mandatory. After 3 years duty I return to my band and I played peter's songs.. When I heard songs of his album Flamton somes alive it blew me away.. His lp tone sound was fantastic, amazing. It makes me huge fan of les paul. I have one lp traditional now it's tone always make my heart melts.

Peter Frampton is one of my all time guitar heroes. I was in junior high school when Frampton Comes Alive came out. I can’t believe how long ago that was! That album still stands out! I was lucky enough to see Peter in concert 4 times over the last 10 years. Each time he sounded inspired and put on an incredible show. It brought me back to being a 14 year old kid in Germany listening to that live album. It was magic.

I don't think you will remember me. I was walking through JFK AIRPORT.. Killing time to flight back to Orlando Peter you had hair down to the middle of your back. You saw me walking with my 67 GIBSON SG special 200. Baritone 24 frets and ebony finger board. American standard. Pat pickup. You told me you were going back to England to record in the studio. At that time you don't know who to believe. But when we could hear someone hanging on the other side of the wall. the person was saying your plane is ready . Then the wall opened up and You went through the wall. Right then I believed everything you said. Some years later went to your concert at the Florida orange bowl. You gave me a wonderful memory. thank you Peter Framton.

This was an amazing interview! I've been a fan of Peter's since listening to my first Humble Pie album, "Rock On," in 1970-71. I was 17, and played this album every single day. Sometimes, I would fall asleep listening at night, and my Dad would come in and turn it off. Then, to my amazement, he would go down into our basement with his guitars and I could hear him playing! Peter, this was such a nice tour of your guitars, and convo with Mark! I will be hoping and praying for you to retain your good health always, so you can do what you love, and we can love what you do!! You are a treasure!!

I bought my first Gibson Les Paul in 2020 and started showing signs of IBM about a year afterwards. I got a confirmed diagnosis in November 2023. You try your best to figure out how to make it work with playing guitar. I’ve changed all my electrics to use 8s. I suppose I’ll end up being a slide guitar player after a few years of this disease. I do believe in keeping hope that there will be a treatment. Always a fan of Peter Frampton. Keep on rocking. 👍

Yeah, I like that they don't cancel Fender in this series. I think they're smart enough to know that it gives the series a wider appeal. After all, Fenders aren't going to go away, almost all of the most famous players own at least one, and Fender and Gibson are really the two pillars of the electric guitar and you can't change history.

I am an original Humble Pie fan. For me, there was no better chemistry between two guitarists than Peter Frampton and Steve Marriott. When they moved to electric exclusively after their first two albums (I listened to the HP cover of Holly's "Heartbeat" a thousand times; your solo was so fine), the transformation was complete. "Humble Pie," and "Rock On," grabbed me. Not forgetting "Comes Alive," "Performance" is one of the best live albums ever recorded to me. Peter, you broke my heart when you left Stevie and the guys, and went solo. Clem Clemson, while a fine guitarist in his own right, just couldn't measure up to you, unfortunately. You were the perfect throttle to keep Steve from going overboard. HP was never the same after you left. The rest is history. Mark, the Rick Nielsen interview was fantastic, but you outdid yourself here. Thanks for bringing Peter alive for me. It was so encouraging to see him doing so well. Great performance.

Great stuff, thank you. A few things: - Harrison's red Les Paul Lucy has a bit of a backstory. It was previously a Burst with a Bigsby owned by John Sebastian of the Lovin' Spoonful. He put it up for sale via a shop. Rick Derringer, then with the McCoys ('Hang On Sloopy'...which had Bernard Purdie on drums; later w/Johnny Winter, recorded w/Steely Dan etc) purchased it, had the Bigsby removed and the body refinished in red. Being quite petite in stature I wouldn't be surprised if he also had the neck shaved, because for whatever reason he didn't like the end result so had the shop put it back up for sale. That is when Clapton purchased it. As with his SG 'Fool' he gave the Les Paul to George Harrison. Clapton played it on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' because Harrison asked him to solo on the record while they were driving to the studio (Clapton was to be a spectator). Clapton pointed out that he had no guitar, to which George said he could play 'Lucy'. - Yes, the Shadows were massive, particularly in the UK. Because they were primarily an instrumental group, everyone from Beck, Clapton, Page and Trower, to May, Moore, Knopfler and the Beatles have cited them as major inspirations. As Peter notes, Jet Harris and drummer Mehan left the Shadows to do their own thing as Jet Harris & Tony Meehan...and they were huge for a minute. What isn't mentioned is that Jimmy Page's breakthrough moments was being on their chart-topping hit 'Diamonds'. He said that overnight everyone wanted him on their records. Also, John Paul Jones (then known as John Baldwin) got his first profession break as a member their touring band (Harris's bass functioned as 'lead guitar'). And...Jet Harris was the first bassist in the original Jeff Beck Group alongside Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. Though Wood played bass on that band's two albums, he was originally enlisted on rhythm guitar, with Viv Prince - Keith Moon's smash 'em up hero from the Pretty Things - on drums. But Harris's issues quickly became evident so he was dismissed, with Prince also soon getting the boot. - Worth noting that Bill Wyman also managed Peter's early band (possibly that was said in the chat). And when the Stones ejected Brian Jones, apparently Bill and Charlie Watts wanted Peter in his place. Though no Stones were on Peter's debut solo album 'Winds of Change', Stones affiliates Billy Preston and Jim Price were onboard, as were Ringo and Klaus Voorman as well as Spooky Tooth's Mick Jones, who later formed Foreigner. (Worth nothing that Greg Ridley, Peter's bassist bandmate in Humble Pie had also been in Spooky Tooth, as was Gary 'Dreamweaver' Wright.) - Peter was also a massive star prior to Humble Pie, a band he assembled after leaving the Herd, with whom he had several major UK/European hits and was a massive pop star ('The Face of '68'). So really, he has had three major successful careers: the Herd, Humble Pie and solo. And with those highs he has suffered some serious downs including coming out of 'Frampton Comes Alive' with no money. But look at him - he exemplifies the joy and sense of creative adventure that being a musician is all about. He ain't in it for the money, he's in it for the love. Good on him!
