Here's some questions for your next video: 1. Can you explain the magnetic coating and movable frame technology more? I still don't get how they work. 2. How would transformable mobile suits make sense in any Gundam timeline? I mean, doesn't the transformation mechanisms put strain on their frames? Any advantages that they give over non-transforming MS (other than looking cool)?
@MrRe-pg7fj2 жыл бұрын
For transformable MS, the wave rider mode usually makes it quicker to move from point A to point B.
@HalfDemonInuyasha2 жыл бұрын
They actually do address some things regarding transformable mobile suits/mobile armors in Zeta and ZZ Gundam (some in the series and some in extra material). One of the issues is simply the complexity of transformation systems - more complex means more cost - which part of the reason why transformable mobile suits/mobile armors become increasingly rare after ZZ (the other simply being that better, and cheaper, technology for regular, non-transformable mobile suits enables them to better keep up with, and fight, transformable mobile suits/mobile armors, so transformations become more pointless). Another issue connected to that is the more complex a transformation, like the ZZ Gundam itself, the weaker the overall frame is because of the amount of space needed for all the parts to be able to shift and move around. So as powerful and fast as the ZZ Gundam was, one good shot to the wrong part of the body could potentially knock it out of the fight (as Beecha Oleg found out the hard way), which is why the ZZ Gundam was given a Full Armor modification near the end of the First Neo Zeon War (though only used once) to help compensate for the frame weakness.
@FanOfKOTOKO2 жыл бұрын
Moveable Frame is a design principle in which more of the components (sensors, motors, etc.) are folded into the inner frame of the unit instead of presumably being functionally mounted to the frame or armor. Magnetic Coating is literally just a way of making use of electromagnets at the joints so there's little to no friction when it moves. Less friction means less torque is needed to move the part and also less wear and tear, there's also some reaction time benefits as a result of this.

@tomhuynh38672 жыл бұрын
They had MS R&D before the OYW, but got push aside due to the threat of MS not taken seriously and a large amount of money invested in the Space fleet and Jaburo construction. It took the witness accounts of General Revil to persuade fed leaders to invest in MS development. The Feds establish air supremacy and used guerrilla tactics to sneak MS into Zeon territory for missions. The V project prototypes were a handful due to development cost. The RX-79 and ground GM were stop gap machines built using lower quality spare V project parts . After the capture of Odessa is when the Feds got the momentum, valuable production resources, and captured Zeon technology.

The team was around half its total member before the battle Odessa and the only one equipped with slightly better suits at that time was LT. Roher with a Gouf prototype that used zaku weapons. White base crew on that dread mission has literal plot armor on top of superior fire power that it becomes a deadly game of hide and go seek. It be interesting if the Fenrir were fully manned and had the best support. Noisy Fairy I can see an ugly struggle with possibly the only one surviving is Alma due to her new type abilities. Mia is a smart supporter, but not the best fighter especially if Amuro going in for the kill. Helena being a veteran would fair better against Guncannon and Guntank. A suggestion to how to format the GM Development History, 1 video to focus on the "technological" advancements or general improvements to the GM (Kai, Powered, 2), 1 for the Environmental/Specialized Roles (Cold District, Aqua, Light Armor), and 1 for the more...unique or experimental ones (Dominance, Juggler, Custom) For a question, this is more of a theory than of question. Looking back at the previous Anti-Newtype combat systems the Federation made like EXAM and HADES, it actually struck me as odd that the Federation didn't think of creating a specialized Taskforce or Unit that deals with combatting Newtypes. While it can be argued that Newtypes were a rarity during the OYW and even later, its kinda weird that even during the Gryps War not even like the Titans would have like a countermeasure for their own Cyber-Newtypes other than just, mental training. So in theory, how would the Federation deal with a situation where Newtypes were more of occurrence and what would be some ways their own forces would deal with one?

maybe the "other parts that could be used for 3 gundams" amuro mentioned were whe ones that would eventually become the G-3/G04/G05

In the anime or movie they say one Gundam unit is operation and the second they gonna use to spare parts.

Could you do a video about the other rx-78 units such as g4, g5, mudrock and the 7th gundam?
@MasterArchfiend2 жыл бұрын
Given how the GM was developed from the RX-78-2 data, you do kind of need to cover that for the development video. Either way I am always looking forward to more development history videos.

Here's a good question for a next episode. What happened to Nu Gundam after Char's Counterattack. It's not stated what happened to the Nu Gundam is it destroyed, recovered by Anaheim Electronics then restore it or dismantled and harvest the Psychoframe, or did it go to a higher plane of existence just like most theory I've found
@jetblackangelX2 жыл бұрын
The best assumption is that the Nu blew up when it's psycho-frame overloaded to create the psycho field. The remains likely burned up in the atmosphere.

Several of the spare Gs could've been kept for use as spare parts. I'm pretty sure there's been cases of unit 1 being piloted while unit 2 is kept as replacement parts for unit 1.

I have a Question I wanna answer when I was looking up some info of the RGZ-91 Re-GZ Early Sources says its a Cheaper Mass Production of the Zeta Gundam others say its Delta or even Plus-R what is the True linage or the Re-GZ?
@unitedstatesofamericareal2 жыл бұрын
they're all kind of part of the same lineage, the delta gundam's transformable parts failed and it was developed into hyaku shiki, but a certain blue haired teen saw the problem, fixed it, and improved upon it, making the zeta gundam. the z plus r is a version of the z plus c, which is itself developed from the zeta gundam.

Quick side question to the first question: do the Guntanks count towards the number of embarked mobile suits or are they considered something else? (Tanks/heavy armor)

Legit question there cause they tend to teeter between mobile suits and non mobile suits.

Here's a question that's been personally bugging me: How exactly do Mobile Suits fit into the Federation's and Zeon's respective combat doctrines, be it in ground, air, or space combat?
@thejokie2 жыл бұрын
For Zeon, MS warfare was the whole center of the doctrine. Given that Minovsky particles (the byproduct of the fusion reactor everyone uses) block a majority of electronics, line of sight combat was what they were made for. By extension, most ships for Zeon were just MS carriers first, battleships second. The Federation on the other hand was really playing catch up as they were more into the 'big gun' idea, and had no idea at the time what Minovsky particles could do in the full extent. With most weapons from fighters and battleships rendered ineffective, it turned into a fight fire with fire situation. Before, they looked at MS as pretty much a joke and a waste of money. The battle of Loum is what got them to start taking MS seriously.

I have a question I hope you can answer. On several occasions, you've mentioned that "The Origin" isn't considered to be canon with the Universe Century timeline. Why is that? What does "The Origin" do or change that forces it to be its own, separate continuity? Thanks. Keep up the grear Gundam content.
@daitoray98762 жыл бұрын
It has its own timeline. In the origin timeline, Sayla is crowned as the true heir of Zeon and ultimately leads a rebellion against the Zabis in the end while Amuro remains at side 7 to help rebuild the colony after the war ended. In addition, the origin also appears to have changed Lalah's death scene a bit.

My question is why didn’t orb ever develop any amphibious mobile suits we know when they where working on the astray frames they developed schematics for amphibious equipment for said frames, and we know as payment for a job Gai was given by orb a set of that equipment, we know orb never lost the data and orb is a island nation so why didn’t orb ever develop or produce in any quantity an amphibious machine or an amphibious variant of an existing machine like the mass production astray or even the transformable murasame?

Actually I got to say thank you for reminding me about the two guncannons but then again I kind of have an issue that I'd like answered why is there three different variants that go on between having two guncannons to G-armors or to core-boosters depending on the show? seems like they have three different variants the same battle but with three very different machines
@tidepoolclipper86572 жыл бұрын
Why are there different variants of the same battles? When it came to the original, the higher ups really wanted it to advertise some toys (granted, that is still true with gunpla to this day, but even more so at the time). G-armor is a good example of this. Not to mention there were things that Tomino probably thought was fine at the time, but later on changed his mind on with the movie trilogy; such as GUNTANK IN SPACE. Not to mention core booster was created to replace G fighter to make the movie trilogy feel less super robot wars. The movie trilogy is implied in Char's Counterattack to be the canon version of events. As for Origins, that is a more up-to-date retelling of the One Year War and before that.

@@tidepoolclipper8657 well I can understand using the gun tank in the first few battles I mean they could have given him some GMS at least but honestly having two gun tanks and two gun cannons I'm glad they took out the tanks at least

wasn't there a novel where the Rx 78-2 was destroyed at the New Texas colony and Amuro used the Rx 78-3 after that?
@tidepoolclipper86572 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you're referring to Mobile Suit Gundam: Awakening, Escalation, Confrontation. Tomino admitted he's not entirely happy with the ending in that novel, as he would have let Amuro live had he known at the time that Zeta Gundam would be made.
@daitoray98762 жыл бұрын
I agree that the Rx-78-1 was scrapped but I think that it was possible that the Rx-78-1 was not destroyed and just became disassembled parts(Hence why it could have appeared to be heavily damaged. In addition, the Zaku pilots assumed that the Rx-78-2 was just a ton of parts that were not completed which means that they probably did come across a disassembled version of the Rx-78 Gundams). On another note, the Origin Manga simplifies the Gundam issue by destroying Unit 1 on Side 7 and removing Unit 3 entirely from the manga.

I have a question: How many Mass Production F91 produced out there ?
@ranggareiss22022 жыл бұрын
I have a good question, is there any particular reason why zeon amphibious mobile suits design so weird, I mean just look at acguy, zogok, juaggu, acgugai, and zock, at least zgok and goog some what "normal" looking, but the rest of them just straight up weird, is there any in universe explanation?
@jetblackangelX2 жыл бұрын
All of zeon's aquatic mobile suits were developed between zeonic, mip and zimmad; each having different design philosophies to compete to become the principalities default nautical unit. The zgok having the most balanced design and getting more units produced compared to the juaggu(powerful cannons and beam weapons but had to be huge for a reactor to power such weapons) or gogg(too slow for land combat and had to refill its water tank or it'd overheat). There's also the various variants from the United maintenence plan like the hygogg and zgok-e.

what if char got the alex
@tidepoolclipper86572 жыл бұрын
That would make for a kinda interesting video series if he ever got around to making that. If don't know all the potential possibilities, but I can see... Bernie survives due to Car being around on that colony now and Bernie himself sticks around for the Gryps Conflict Char forgoes the Zeong (which becomes a forgotten design after the one year war; thus no Neo Zeong) When he takes on Amuro one more time in the war, either (A) He wins the battle against RX-78-2, but Amuro survives and Char uses the Alex as a way to finish off Kycilia Zabi. (B) Both machines completely tear each other apart; but both pilots survive before either can make it inside Baoa Qu. Meaning Char was to wait longer for his revenge plan to be completed. If A had happened, then he would keep the red painted Alex for a long while up to the point he meets up with Haman; whether Axis Zeon seizes control of the Alex and thus use it as part of their mobile suit design research or Char escapes with it but Axis Zeon makes a more active pursuit since they want that machine, thus meaning Char is unable to be involved with AUEG for a some time; meaning he may have to get help from Bernie or get Amuro out of house arrest sooner and join up with him. If B instead, then Kycilia and Haman would have a conflict of interest or Kycilia would recognize Axis as being legitimate, meaning they could become Neo Zeon sooner. Perhaps Neo Zeon would cause major trouble during Operation Stardust. Chat still joins up with AEUG at roughly the same time. The Titans may or may not exist depending if Neo Zeon managed to eradicate most of those who would lead to their formation; one of the exceptions being Scirocco. He either joins up with AEUG but quietly plans to later forcibly have the group weaken the Federation enough so that he can take control of them or he is part of the Federation, but comes off as rather shady. Char would have to deal with Haman, Kycilia, and Scirocco. Bernie would potentially join AEUG.
