How many holes can I drill with my 8 inch k drill with my Milwaukee fuel brushless drill with a 4.0 battery before it dies.

I put this video link on a tag on a drill/auger video of mine. I hope you don't mind. I recently got a new set up but my set up doesn't get as many inches of ice as yours so I wanted to show the comparison.

Cool. No problem

I would had thought you'd get well over 20 holes. I did a test with a Ryobi 4ah. and the new StrikeMaster 8" Lite Flite, had 8" of ice and got over 70 holes with that setup!

My K-Drill came new with dull blades. I sharpened them and was getting about 12 seconds /hole in about 23inches of ice just yesterday.

Chipper blades are hard on drills. My setup is the Milwaukee 18 fuel on a clam plate and a Strikemaster hand drill. Also using a 12.0 battery. I can drill 120 holes thru 24" of ice.

Nice. I want a 12.0.

how think was that ice? 14 inches I see, looked deeper than that. Nice Fish at the end should have a got a close up of that.

We filmed addie catching one. I should have put that clip at the end

Milwaukee realized that K Drill says their Milwaukee M18 Fuel works best with the K drill so Milwaukee knows that they'll sell the new drills with the handles. I just bought my M18 3 months ago and it's already worthless for ice fishing unless I want to clamp a huge vice grips on it. Planned obsolescence

Milwaukee discontinued the side handle for the M18 Fuel drill, the #1 rated ice drill. No love for their customers

Whatever came of the drill, are you using the brushless Fuel setup?
@thetoolsman496 жыл бұрын
I made a video explaining the drill. They covered the drill under warranty
@thetoolsman496 жыл бұрын
Yes it was brushless fuel set up. It shouldn't have failed.

Thanks for replying, do you think an 8” auger is too much for the drill? Most auger bits I’ve seen only call for 700 inch pounds, the Milwaukee Fuel has 1200 inch pounds. Personally I have the Milwaukee Fuel 3rd Gen, it does have the newest chuck on it. The older 2nd Gen chucks had issues. Good luck and please post up to KZbin if you have more issues.

You need to find where the drill is chewing and hold that angle. You are just riding the tip

I have the k drill with a ryobi hammer drill. Brand new 4ah battery. I'm lucky to get 6 poles. Any tips? Might be pushing to hard down
@thetoolsman496 жыл бұрын
My drill is brushless which burns less juice. I was pushing down kind of hard also. Not sure what you can do. Sorry I am no help
@93rbrex6 жыл бұрын
Mines brushless as well
@thetoolsman496 жыл бұрын
@Ge Lee yes. I was just trying to push it to the max. Yes, I agree it would help with the battery.

@@93rbrex they make these kdrills and test them 5 miles from where I live. I talked to the guy who test them and he said he highly recommends Milwaukee or dewalt. I think your drill is fine I am just telling you what he told me. Drills have come a long way in recent years. You might just need a bigger battery.

I have a 4ah battery. I'll try not pushing down as much. It's a brand new battery and I've been told it takes a couple charge cycles for the full capacity

Walking on the ice and banging your drill into the ice for stability because you aren't wearing spikes and then saying your drill doesn't cut enough holes is an oxymoron.
@thetoolsman496 жыл бұрын
I never said it doesn't cut enough holes. I was trying to put it to the hardest work I could.

Man that K-drill is just trash! Takes forever to drill a hole

I love it

There is something obviously wrong with your blades. I've been running the KDrill 8" with Milwaukee Fuel 2603-22 for 3 seasons on it now with thousands of holes drilled with it still on the original blades and mine cuts ice WAY faster than yours does on this video. There should be no reason why you should have to lean on the drill or put any downward pressure on the auger to get it to cut.

The only hole I leaned into was the first half of the first hole.it looks like I was pushing. I actually wasn't vmbesides the first hole. I live a mile from where they make them. I will bring in the blades to see what they say. I was in the lowest speed also
