I run an fs 460-c with a 3 bladed brush cutter..with a setup like that I end up with a nice clean cut without having to go back. I just recently ran .105 line on my 460 and that is a beast for heavy duty trimming/cutting.

Save yourself the trouble... let the local skunks do all the work! Put some fresh cut fruit outside the hole and every single bee and wasp will be gone by morning. Skunks eat more ground stingers than any other food!! Fruit draws them in to the dinner table!

Hi Toolsman. I need to see how the personal pace traction cable connects to the handle. My torsion spring under the handle dangles - its ends aren't attached. I can't tell if something is missing like a broken tab or something, or if the spring simply came unclipped. Thanks! Follow up - I found another tuber show this. A few years ago I got stung while mowing by a ground wasp. I was able to locate the nest hole easily. That evening, after dark, I used a funnel and poured about a pint of gasoline into the nest, then lit the gasoline. It burned like a blow torch and bees tried to escape out of the hole. It looked like 4th of July fireworks with flaming bees traveling about 3 feet and falling dead. This was a complete success.

Getting them at night seems to hp a bit since they seem to be all in nest. Nest in our area dont get as big. Might try get the foam style one next time around, i heard they tend to be better

If you do not put the cord through the outer cover do Not redo it. Simply remove the handle off other end the feed it through way way easier!!!

I just did the method on a good sized nest and it worked. DO NOT HOLD A LIGHT SOURCE. Instead, put the flashlight elsewhere. I'm so glad that I changed plans though. I planned to hold the flashlight while spraying, but at the last minute I thought they would go straight for the flashlight so I put the flashlight about 25 feet from me pointing at the nest. If the nest was the center of a clock, I stood at 6 o'clock and the flashlight was at 3 o'clock so as not to blind me but direct the hornets away from me. I emptied the 3 cans I bought today plus the 4 cans that I didn't quite trust that I had on hand. Those hornets came out of that nest like a bat out of hell and went straight for the flashlight. Thank goodness I wasn't holding it. The hornets never found me, but man had I been holding that flashlight I would have been lit up.

Hey can you use fuel stabilizer in a lawn mower? I’m not confident in a carburetor cleaning, and with my motorcycle I’ve been running a shot of starbrite through the gas at the end of the season - as I was told it cleans it out some. I’m going to do an oil change, but then was thinking of adding a shot of stabilizer to the gas to run through it. We have a rider-size lawn that we use a push mower on, so yearly oil changes, but it still sounds like it’s struggling. Junk in the fuel line/carburetor is my guess, and was thinking maybe stabilizer could be a little cheat before having to do other stuff.

What is it with people beating the trimmer head to advance the line? Put the trimmer down, push the button, and pull the string out a couple notches by hand. It only takes a second instead of beating the shit out of a $400-$500 trimmer.
