The schedule is one of the things that drew me to the field. Nice to know I can work OT and still have a few days off

I just got accepted to a RT program and I'm very excited to start. What kind of shoes do you wear at work? I have plantar fasciitis so I really need to be sure that I won't be in pain when starting clinicals next year.

Check with your school to see if they have a uniform requirement for shoes because that might limit your options. I use Asics at work but while I was in school they required all white hard toed shoes, so then I used sketchers. Check out my amazon store (link in video description) and that has a few links to the shoes i used then and now.

Most schools want all white shoes or sneakers to be worn when in the hospitals

My school also required white “non permeable” shoes. But I wore whatever I wanted. I guess it depends on your instructors and whether or not they care.

Do you think a mom of a 5 year old could successfully complete the RT program or do you think it will be too stressful? Also I don't have much help from family 😭
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! It will likely be hard but I am sure you can get through it! Look for resources to help with child care in your area and it will be so worth it once you're done!

I'm curious what type of facility do you work in? Is it a trauma 1? Also have you actually worked in the trenches during RSV/FLU season yet?

Great info! How exactly do you go about balancing out your per diem jobs over your full time job offering OT? Because wouldn't your OT day at your full time job pay more than the per diem day you signed up for? Can you miss the per diem job to work the OT at your full time job without risking loosing your per diem? Thanks in advance!
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 4 жыл бұрын
Your full time job is your priority but you have to decide if you are going to keep the commitment you also made to your per diem job. Just like any other job, if you call off multiple times, you are at risk of losing your job.

I got accepted in RT bachelor and I'm pretty excited, but I heard that it's not available in Europe! So I'm afraid that hospitals don't really need them and I'll end up jobless. Can u help me please I'm in my 2nd year and I didn't go to hospitals yet, so I really don't know. Thank you,

Hello i have a question, great videos by the way? Im starting a two year program soon and I was wondering, how does this compare to say a four year program as far as accreditation?
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 5 жыл бұрын
Check out www.coarc.com That is the accreditation agency for Respiratory schools. 2 vs 4 years doesn't have a difference in accreditation but you should always check that your school is accredited before attending.

I'm so interested in RT. Do you have to have healthcare experience before the program?
@BreatheEasyRRT
@BreatheEasyRRT 4 жыл бұрын
No, it isn't necessary unless the program you apply for requires volunteer hours.
