Day in the Life of A Travel Respiratory Therapist | Come to Work With Me | Night Shift Routine
Today, I take you guys along with me to work again! Pretty much a typical night working at a small community hospital. I show you guys the types of equipment this facility carries. Just a little reminder for all my RT students, that this is not your typical nightshift as a RT! Most assignments for RT's are definitely much busier. Trust me, I've worked them! But, hopefully you enjoy watching what this assignment has been like for me. If you have any questions or would like me to try to show you more things about an assignment like this, please let me know! Don't forget to subscribe to stay notified for more content!

I've been a travel therapist since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and couldn't imagine ever going back! I'll show you the pros and cons of travel life. I'll also try to share some tips on what I've learned along the way for anyone considering a career in respiratory or taking that step to become a travel therapist. I also wanted to make this space a place where I can share different pieces of my life. So, let me take you along on the mini journeys that come along with this lifestyle. Why, TheRachelProject? Because life is a constant work in progress and I love watching where the ups and downs take me!

Youre vids are super informative, i do have a question, if i may? Do you have tips for Filipino or foreign educated RTs become licensed in the US? Would really appreciate if you can share some insight on it.

2 questions how do you deal with new equipment you haven't used before in each new hospital? And how bad is living out of a hotel?
@RachelDellee
@RachelDellee Жыл бұрын
I just ask! Usually, Ill ask whoever is precepting me or charge. Just kinda go thru the basics with me and also ask where their resources are like training guides and stuff. That usually comes in handy especially if you're on nightshift and there's not a lot of resources. And honestly, KZbin! lol. Theres a lot of information out there and it helps! After working thru COVID, I don't mind living out of a hotel. The lack of a kitchen sucks sometimes, but with air fryers and stuff like that there are options to make food in the room. I personally, don't mind living out of a hotel!

hi, I am currently licensed in CA but I think to work in different states, and do you know how can I register their license . thank you
@RachelDellee
@RachelDellee 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I spoke a little about this on my Q+A video if you haven't checked it out! But, right now most states are doing emergent licenses because of COVID. Usually, I just google their RCP license and check out their website to find out what the steps are to obtain that license!

Hi! As a travel RT the pay really depends but you can make anywhere from 50 and up an hour. But most of my salary comes from my non taxable stipends!

Can you be 21 and an rt? I feel like if your young the other medical people will look down on you or treat you less then.
@RachelDellee
@RachelDellee 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Age has nothing to do with anything when it comes to the medical field. As long as you know your scope of practice and come thru with confidence - you got this!

Do you get to do many intubations as a traveler?
@free2trvl
@free2trvl Жыл бұрын
Mostly no, as a travler you are not "worth" getting signed off for intubation since you are only there a short time. That probably changes in smaller hospitals but for the most part no unfortunately.

What’s the pay ?
@RachelDellee
@RachelDellee 3 жыл бұрын
travel pay is dependent on location and needs. feel free to check the Vivian app to see the pay that travelers are finding right now. this assignment was based off urgent staff needs and is definitely more than what average pay is right now!

Are you able to pick the state in which you want to travel to??
@RachelDellee
@RachelDellee 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would just need to have your license from that state. Or if they’re offering emergent licensing that works too.
