i have pros and cons of crystal ultra nanoceramic versus zirconia. i personally think zirconia done from a high quality lab is the best option. problem is when you get zirconia done, you want to make sure you see some sample photos and products. zirconia is done amazing by some labs while done horrendously by others and can be very ugly. who you're getting your all on 4 matters because your dentist may want to be cheap and choose a cheaper lab to save money. if they have an in house lab, they may have a great ceramist or a horrible one. thats why we personally work with a lab that gives us beautiful zirconia. i've tried with others and i didnt like the esthetics. crystal ultra is a great option for many people but if you clench or grind, it may not be the best option because its not as strong zirconia. in general it looks a bit prettier than zirconia but over the long haul, i tend to think it loses some of its luster. its more lightweight and flexible and has some advantages. i dont think there's a clearcut winner for every single person. its a case by case basis.

If you have 4 implants top and bottom with acrylic teeth, can you upgrade to zirconium down the road? Can you do zirconium with just the 4 implants or do you need 6 or more implants for zirconium?

Temporary teeth are generally acrylic which then get upgraded to zirconium. To answer the question though, yes if you had acrylic, you could upgrade to zirconia later on down the line. The more implants you have, the better it is, you can do all on 4 full zirconia upper and lowers with 8 implants (4 upper and 4 lower), but if you can do 5 or 6, this is the better option as it will spread out the load much better and gives you a little bit of headway for a worse case scenario of an implant failing. For example, 2 weeks ago, I had 28teeth pulled and did a full upper and lower arch. I am currently in my acrylic prosthesis now and in roughly 4ish months I will be fitted for my zirconia upper and lowers. My dentist did 6 implants on the top and 6 on the bottom, I also had to have a bone graft directly under my nose as I was missing a decent amount of bone there. Anyway, the 12 implants that he did 6 and 6, really allow the forces of chewing, biting, grinding, whatever it might be, to be spread out amongst several implants. Especially in the rear where all the chewing is being done. So TLDR: Can it be done on 4, absolutely, that is why they are called all on 4s. But if the patient is able to have 5 or 6 implants, it could be a better option. We were able to do 6 and 6 in my case because I am only 35 years old with very minimal bone loss overall, just a lot in a small area directly under my nose, where the two top teeth would be :)

@@zachmullins9444 Hello Zach what food can you eat for the next 4 months with your temporary teeth????
@zachmullins94442 жыл бұрын
@@michaelmeyers3664 for the first month its pretty rough, you have to eat super soft food. Oat meal, soup, scrambled eggs, rice. Pretty much anything that doesn't take much chewing and doesn't use the front teeth to like tear or sink into.
