My buddy runs 28 3 gals in a 4x8 space and gets 10000+ grams (wet fresh frozen) a harvest. He vegges super short too. It’s Coco with Drip Hydro. He always makes fun of me for running big 10 gallons and vegging super long. He’s honestly right that it’s a better way to do things, if you run coco or hydro that is. I think soil needs the long veg but it’s because we don’t have the sun. Soil goes quicker with more light. Soil also keeps plants able to handle higher light levels IMO. In vegas I know people who grow outdoors in 100+ degrees F. They say they achieve it by planting in ground and allowing for a large root system that can stay cool.

@@GoliathGrower SMH that's not what I am saying, you never define yield by what you get off a plant. You define yield by the light and volume of the space. As long as you have a full canopee you will get the yield you should get for that light and space. A 4x4 area requires HID 600W of light to get 1 and a 1/2 lb dry. If you didn't get 1 and a 1/2 lb dry then you didn't do something right. I don't care how much is on any plant, as long as my end yield is 1 and a 1/2 lb dry. Now, a 420W LED is equivalent to a 600W HID so you no longer need 600W to get 1 and a 1/2 lb dry, you can get that yield with 420W of LED. All you have to do is ensure you have a 85% full canopee before u flip to flower. That means you need to have a top in each trellis hole to get that yield. I don't care if you vegged 4 plants for 2 months, or 6 plants for 1 and a 1/2 months or 100 plants for 10 days, I don't care how you do it. If you have fewer plants your veg will be longer, if you have more plants your veg will be shorter. However, each has its weakness and strengths. You would never do 100 solo cups as it requires a ton of labor and time watering 100 plants vs watering only 4, which is why you would never do something as ridiculous as 100 solo cups. Instead, you would do a SOG in a 1 gallon not solo cups because solo cups will become root bound and your yield will not be their. You did not get 1 and a 1/2 lbs dry from that grow neither. I know you didn't.

@@GoliathGrower I only tell you this as a Biosystems Engineer in Algriculture and a Pr. Design Assurance Engineer in Medical Technology for Quality Assurance. I know my stuff from the bottom to the top when it comes to this. This is what I do and I try to help others when I can. I see on youtube out of 100 growers, 98% of them are doing it wrong and you Sir my friend are number 99 therefore 99% of 100 growers I met are either Failing, Doing it Incorrectly or are Killing their plants with to much water, to much light or to many nutrients. 85% of them are doing all 3 at the same time. They have to much light for their space, 80% of the light is hitting either the walls, the floor or the dirt. They are in too big a pot, their plant(s) are not 2-3x wider than the bucket which results in them over watering which prevents the plants from branching and instead it doesn't grow horizontal it grows vertical like a bean stalk with no branches, looks like the ultimate clone 😉. Once this happens the root hairs die from chronic overwatering and since the root hair fibers are responsible for uptaking nutrients the plants can't absorb nutrients so the plant starts having nutrient problems that appear like they are nutrient deficiencies from not enough nutrients when infact the soil has a shit ton of nutrients, it just doesn't have the root hairs to absorb it as they all died and it takes the plant weeks to regrow more. This causes growers to add more nutrients thinking theirs deficiencies then once the plants regrow new root hair fibers there's too many nutrients then your plant leaf tip burns and the plant further shows more Toxity issues like leaf curling and deformations etc and now the grower is lost. He says to himself how can a deficiency and a toxity happen at the same time? Well, that's how. They misdiagnosed their plant and made it worse. All which started from too big of a bucket.

@@GoliathGrower that's a nice example and too the point as you mentioned "why not throw it in a cup?" Because the cup can not sustain the proper overall health. Yes the buds are large. But you've been forced to force feeding it synthetic nutrients. As a result you can see the toxicity and the dark green heavy leaves. That's why synthetic nutrients are so bad. You never truly know when the plant will need and exactly how much. Mycholrizal fungi and bacteria blend like GreatWhite in combination with organic amendments in the healthy rizosphere delivers this micro and macronutrients whenever the plant requires them. You can clearly see the plant is not only toxic but so stressed from being in that cup. Creating the bud formation in the Hope's of manifesting a seed. Is all the plant had in mind. The trichomes being the least important thing. Which it's lacking severely. Not against the idea or sea of green method. Just your choice in pot size. A 1 or 1.5 gallon would of worked a lot better.
@GoliathGrower3 жыл бұрын
@@tgitsmydad2156 I disagree. And the great white is just as synthetic as the nutrients I used to grow this. It was far from toxic. This was also 10 weeks into flower and the plant faded correctly.

@@GoliathGrower do what? What are you smoking on your ego...come back down to earth and become grounded in your reason before you go reaching for the stars my son. Great white mycholrizal fungi and trichoderma bacteria blend is just that. The spores and only the sores and bacteria needed to quote: fund the entire organic grow and it's literally the life support system of the rizosphere. Rizosphere; A living host of organisms which feed of and make decaying earth matter readily available for plant growth and development. These fungi and bacteria share a symbiotic relationship with the plants. By sending down sugars in the cooler evening hours during lights off, or the dark period. A time when the roots take in oxygen and exhale CO2 and, at the same time sending sugars for the mycholrizal fungi and bacteria to feed on. Then when lights come on and especially in the first two hours when your plant is the most bioactive. The mycholrizal seeks out decaying earth matter at the points where air and moisture are in equal parts and best to provide and healthy way for the bacteria to feed on the soil amendments. So to say that great white is full of synthetic is impossible because these microbes live in between. 6.0 and 7.5 ph levels at best. This means that any synthetic like all synthetics are extremely acidic, would Immediately kill the microbes in the soil. Not to mention these synthetics are of no benefit to a full organic system. Since the plants only need talk to the mycholrizal fungi and bacteria and tell them what they need and when. Synthetic nutrients are Immediately taken up by the roots in whatever form or amounts you give to them. There is no going back. Because the plant stores them in the oldest growth and thus the cell walls bulge and this leads to drooping or clawing with yellowing tips = nutrient toxicity. This is almost impossible to do with full organic rizosphere. You only need know your source water is as close to 7.0 between 6.0 and 8.0. The rest will fall into place as the bacteria and mycholrizal fungi in great white will even act to buffer the ph levels. Bringing it into a perfect balance, depending on which faze of growth the plants are in. Making every nutrient right on sight and at high or lower demand...until...and without flushing at all. The cannabis plant shuts down nutrient uptake and fade out naturally

@@tgitsmydad2156 first off I'm not your son old man. Second this is my channel and I don't have to be disrespected from someone who doesn't even know me. Third you probably don't even know what I used for nutrients. So don't come here burning down your keyboard on me. I think I know what I'm doing since I've been very successful at it.

That’s not how you do a sea of green
@GoliathGrower Жыл бұрын
A sea of green consists of many small plants, resembling a sea of green. A scrog or s.c.r.o.g is when you trellis larger plants to resemble a sea of green. I hope this helps you since you seem to be confused.
