Hey everyone! I am glad you all like the video concept so much! It appears I have missed a couple things which I figured was bound to happen. I will definitely be making a correction video in the future, so if you notice something I missed and don't see a comment for it please feel free to let me know! I think it best if I wait until I get a new mic before making an updated video, so apologies if it takes a while to get it out there. Thank you all so much for watching though, Zelda community truly is the best community :)

You're actually missing quite a few required rupees: Zelda 1: In addition to the 60 required for the Bait, you also need 80 to get the Arrows, which are required to beat Gohma in Level 6. You can't just wait for the free Silver Arrows because they're in Level 9, which is inaccessible until after clearing every other dungeon. Also, it costs Rupees just to shoot arrows in this game, so you'll need a couple more on top of that in order to actually kill Gohma and Ganon, making the true final minimum 142 Rupees. ALttP: In addition to the 100 required for the Super Bomb, you also need 500 for the Flippers and 110 to pay Kiki the monkey so he'll open the Palace of Darkness for you, for a minimum total of 710 Rupees. MM: There are two times Powder Kegs are mandatory to beat the game, once to access Romani Ranch on Day 1 and get Epona, and again in Ikana Castle. You get one keg for free when you obtain the license to use them, but this free keg is a one-time deal, so you need to make sure that you get the license itself on Day 1 and get Epona immediately afterwards, otherwise the freebie will be wasted and you'll need to buy an extra keg to beat the game. Also, as far as I know, the Bomb Bag isn't actually required since you can just use the Blast Mask or even Bombchus whenever you need to explode something. Lastly, you also need 10 Rupees to race the Gorman Bros. and get the Garo Mask, and at least 30 Rupees to get 6 Magic Beans (1 to reach Woodfall and 5 for one of the Gibdos Under the Well). This means the final minimum should be 90 Rupees. WW: In addition to the 80 required for the Sail, you also need 30 to purchase the Bait Bag and a single Hyoi Pear, since there's a point during the Triforce Hunt where you need to control a seagull. Also, depending on the version, you need either 3184 or 1194 Rupees to decipher the Triforce Charts, leading to a final minimum of either 3294 or 1304 Rupees. MC: In addition to the Wake-Up Mushroom, you also need 20 for the first Empty Bottle and 40 for the Grip Ring, both of which are required to climb Mt. Crenel. This makes the true minimum 120 Rupees. TP: In addition to the 150 required for the Slingshot and Bomb Bag, you also need 300 to repair the cannon and reach the City in the Sky, making the true minimum 450 Rupees. There are probably more required Rupees that I'm forgetting, and definitely more optional ones, but you get the idea. Even so, this video was still pretty solid, so keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll improve fast.

@@thebroham7503 If you do, I'd be willing to lend a hand, since there's actually a lot to consider when trying to determine what 100% truly means. For example, in Zelda 1, you can technically re-purchase the Blue Candle and Blue Ring as many times as you want, even if you already have them. Because they get overwritten by their red counterparts anyways, which are free, one-of-a-kind upgrades, one could argue that buying the blue versions at all is just arbitrary enough that they aren't actually required for 100%. To help explain what I'm getting at, we can look at three other items, the Boomerang, the Magical Shield, and the Bait. Like the Blue Candle & Ring, the standard Boomerang is completely overwritten by its upgraded counterpart, but unlike those other items, the standard Boomerang is one-of-a-kind, just like its upgrade is. If you skip the standard Boomerang and get the Magical Boomerang first, the former will still be sitting in the dungeon where you passed it, and stay there until collected, at which point it cannot be collected a second time, which I would argue means that collecting it isn't totally arbitrary, even if you wait until the point that doing so would be useless. On the opposite side of things is the Magical Shield, which can be purchased infinitely from shops just like the Blue Candle & Ring, but *doesn't* have an additional, permanent upgrade to overwrite it. The Magical Shield can be bought, lost to a Like Like, bought again, lost again, and so on without limit, but because it's the best shield available, having one on hand when finishing the game is definitely required for 100% *despite* its repeatable nature. I'd argue the same applies to the Medicine of Life as well, where a 100% run should try to finish with a red double dose of medicine still in their inventory. Finally there's the Bait, which is in a strange middle ground. Like other items you can technically buy an infinite amount, and obviously you need to buy one in order to get through Level 7, but doing so will consume the Bait, meaning that buying a second Bait after giving up the first will actually serve the non-arbitrary purpose of replacing the Bait you no longer have, which for the record IS useful because Bait has the secondary use of attracting enemies, making them easier to handle. Because of this, spending an extra 60 Rupees one time to replace your spent Bait and permanently fill what would otherwise be a glaring gap in your inventory screen is a legitimate criteria one could argue for including in 100% completion. Compared to these three items, the Blue Candle and Ring are in a situation where they might as well be completely optional, even in a 100% run. Of course, you *shouldn't* skip them in a typical 100% run because there's no harm in grabbing them and not having them would seriously suck, but if we're strictly talking about 100% while spending as few Rupees as possible, I would argue the following: - 90 Rupees to buy one Magical Shield (don't lose it) - 120 Rupees to buy two pieces of Bait (one for the Goriya and one to keep) - 68 Rupees to buy a red double dose of Medicine of Life (don't use it) - 200 Rupees to buy both Bomb capacity upgrades - 80 Rupees to buy Arrows - 2 Rupees to fire said Arrows at Gohma and Ganon Total: 570 Rupees to 100% Zelda 1, plus 310 more if you want to include the Blue Candle & Blue Ring anyways. I definitely *wouldn't* count Recovery Hearts, Bombs, or Keys in the total though.

In MM, the first Magic Beans you get to get through Deku Palace are free, so you only need to buy 5 on N64 and 1 on 3DS. N64 Total: 110 Rupees 3DS Total: 70 Rupees

You need to burn the web at the entrance of the Forest Temple, but before then, the monkey uses up all the oil in your Lantern... though I think you can just steal from Trill if you don't mind never using that shop again? I think you can dip your Lantern in the oil pot directly. Guess what? You got it for free! Are you proud of yourself? Ah! Water Bombs! I think you need them to get inside Lakebed Temple, and I don't think they're available for free anywhere outside the Temple. I don't think dropping 1200 Rupees in donations to the Goron Elder -- 1000 for the bridge, 200 for the shop takeover IF you do the hot spring water delivery -- in order to buy Water Bombs for a little cheaper would be worth it, though it probably would be for the "buy one of everything" tally, since you can't get the Magic Armor without it.
@Luigifan30514 сағат бұрын
@@Nyperold018 If you're going for a minimum Rupee run, then yeah, stealing from Trill would unfortunately be the move there. It's not like you'd be using the shop otherwise, since you aren't gonna buy anything you don't absolutely need. From there, it's just a matter of conserving your oil until you can either find some Yellow Chus, or at the very least reach Arbiter's Grounds where you can find pots of oil to refill for free. There's actually a couple ways to get Water Bombs for free, one of which is by catching a Bombfish with the Fishing Rod. However, I don't know if there's anywhere that you can find them *before* entering Lakebed Temple, since the only other locations I know about are inside grottos, and catching them there would require the Master Sword first so you can turn back into a human after digging inside as a wolf. Likewise, I know for a fact that there are chests outside of Lakebed Temple which CAN contain Water Bombs, but those might require that you already have some, since the contents of certain chests changes depending on what you do or don't currently have in your Bomb Bag(s). If there's any other location I missed where Bombfish can be caught, or any chests that grant Water Bombs without already owning some, then it *might* be possible to enter Lakebed Temple without needing to buy any.

7:01 In OoT, while it’s not an “item” you do need to pay 20 rupees for the Diving Game in order to get the Silver Scale and get Ruto’s Letter to move King Zora out of the way. That brings the total to 60 rupees to beat the game.
@thebroham750313 сағат бұрын
This is a great shout, since you are required to get the Silver Scale in order to progress the game and get to Jabu, thanks for catching that!

For Ocarina of Time, you don’t have to buy the Hylian Shield. You can get it from a grave in the graveyard for free.
@thebroham750313 сағат бұрын
Very true! I didn't count it towards the required rupees but I did count it towards buying every item once if its sold in shops since you don't get it through main story. Half the items in shops in this game like poes, fairies, etc can be found in the overworld but if I am not gifted them I will still buy them to add to that count.
@ShowerofmelodyКүн бұрын
This may not count because you dont buy these directly but in Wind Waker you need the 8 triforce charts to beat the game. And to get them you need to pay tingle 398 rupees for each triforce treasure map. So even if you dont purchase the charts directly you pay for being able to obtain them. And they have all a different shape. And to get all triforce maps you need also the food bag and I think minimum two seagull controlling fruits. In Oracle of Ages you can get the potion by chance from the witches apprentice or from a gasha nut.

8:55 you can’t beat Wind Waker without buying Tingle’s deciphering service for the last few Triforce shards right?

Heya! I love videos like this! Can't believe there aren't more views. I do think your method is leaving out rupees required for services - the one that comes to mind being Wind Waker's Triforce Quest. In order to get the completed Triforce and beat the game, Tingle has to decode your Triforce charts (8 in the original) for 398 rupees each. Even if you know where the pieces are, they cannot be dredged up unless you have a decoded chart from Tingle. Trust me, I tried. That would put Wind Waker quite a bit higher on your ranking!
@thebroham75032 күн бұрын
Ahh yes how could I forgot the infamous Triforce Quest! These are needed to get all the triforce shards before heading into the last section of the game and are required. We will be using the remake since that's what I used in the video. Therefore we only need to decode 3 charts costing us 1194 rupees. This would change Wind Waker required rupees to 1274 and its total rupees to buy every item once to 4589. Thank you so much for letting me know!
@robingrooms75342 күн бұрын
Also in wind waker don't you have to buy the bait bag? You need the seagulls for a triforce quest too.
@rabeckaleeann2 күн бұрын
@@robingrooms7534That's true! You need to control a seagull to get into the Triforce cave on Bird's Peak. I've always disliked that one. So you'd need to buy the bait bag (20 rupees) and then one Hyoi pear (10 rupees).

In link's awakening you can steal from the shop and the only downside to stealing multiple times is adding 1 to the death counter, therefore no rupees are required, and you save a lot for getting every item

for oracle of ages you dont actually have to buy the magic potion as it has a chance to drop from maple who you can bump into around the map after killing a certain amount of enemies (although her drops are rng based you can easily farm her as she has guaranteed spawn locations and i think 30 kills, or 15 with a special ring between each spawn), i think you still need to buy a shield before dungeon 2 as theres a mandatory fight against spiked beetles that require the shield to beat if im not mistaken, the cheapest source being 10 rupees from a deku scrub. although i guess if your playing a linked game impa gives you the shield free
@brandonwithnell61220 сағат бұрын
another thing i just remembered is that before the third dungeon you get stranded on an island and all your items get stolen and while you get them all back fairly quick the one excetion is once again the shield. you can get the upgraded shield free later in the game but thats after dungeon 6 and i cant remember if theres any mandatory spiked beetle ecounters before that. if there isnt then theres no issue but i theres spiked beetles you have to kill in dungeons 4-6 then you once again need 10 rupees and if theres siked beetles in dungeon 3 then you need 30 as you cant leave that island to get it from a cheeper source untill after the dungeon
@thebroham750313 сағат бұрын
The shield is a good call I will have to look into it as I had thought it was optional, but I did find out you could get a potion from Maple, but due to the RNG aspect of getting it I felt it violated one of my rules and decided to not consider it. Perhaps I can clarify in an update about the possibility of doing that instead tho!

Don't you have to purchase both the Cannon and Salvage Arm in Phantom Hourglass from Eddie's garage? You need both of them to beat the game I believe.
@thebroham75032 күн бұрын
Great catch! I was bound to miss something in my research. For anyone wondering, the cannon costs 50 rupees and is needed to get through a progression gate of blowing up a rock barrier to access more of the map. While the Salvage Arm is anywhere from 200 to 1000 rupees depending on how loudly you scream into the mic, so we'll use 200. It is needed in order to get the Sun Key and access the 3rd dungeon of the game. This changes Phantom Hourglass required rupees to 250 and its total rupees to buy every item once to 6330. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
@KingRaatz56 минут бұрын
In Oracle of Seasons, the Treasure Map is completely optional. If you know where the jewels are located, you can just go and get them at any time; the map is not needed to find them. So, OoS joins the 0 Rupees club.
@gumballfan134 сағат бұрын
Eddo's cannon and the salvage arm are required to progress in Phantom Hourglass, but the price for the salvage arm changes based on how loud you scream into the mic, so the amount of rupees required to beat the game is inconsistent. But you will need at least 50 to get the cannon, however.

@thefaceisbaitdonttrustit898516 сағат бұрын
For Majoras mask you can get into Goron city with Blast Mask which is free on both versions, you don't technically need the bomb bag, and for 3ds you only need 2 magic beans and one is free, so MM is 10 from the bean guy plus 20 from the Goron guy in 3ds, but I am pretty sure it is cheaper from bomb shop on N64, and I am pretty sure you need more magic beans on N64.

Wait, doesn’t the silver arrow in Zelda 1 cost 1 rupee to use (because it doesn’t have its own inventory), and you need 1 shot to kill Gannon? So isn’t the final total required to beat Zelda 1 61 rupees?

@ Oh right! For some reason, I thought silver arrows were in level 8 (so you could pick those up and bypass the regular arrows). So now we’re up to 147 required (meat - 60, regular arrows - 80, 3 shots at each of 2 Gohmas, and 1 final shot).
