At least the marring from the clay bar, comes off easily polishing with a all in one polish of even just a polish. So its not actually that agressive on the clear coat. Nice video!

Thanks TDG! I don’t use clay anymore and prefer clay towels which seem to be far nicer to the paint . I still polish afterwards

Whatever works for you. There are many ways to come to a good result although when you have really harsh contamination the “normal” clay will perform better. Regards, Y.

Will claying a ceramic coated surface with an ultra fine grade clay induce marring as well? I have some overspray from anti rust coating that can’t be removed via chemical decontamination.

It will always leave marks. In your case using a lot of claylube and Q²M Clay mild with very gentle moves is possibly the only way. Regards, Y.

So the 9h coatings will be marred? Shouldn’t they be unscathed unless the clay has a super hard abrasive? Couldn’t a lighter hardness abrasive be used in clay bars so that harder coatings are unaffected?

This is a bit to technical to fully explain but we explain the 9H myth and others in our trainings. But claying + contaminants will always create light scratches even when you have a “10H” coating. Regards, Y.

I’ve asked a couple times how do I correct wet coat if it was on the paint for a long period of time and now it has left streaks

The use of Q²M Prep on the streaked area can help but all depends on how long and in what circumstances it stayed on the paint. If Q²M Prep does not work then a light polish will do the job very easy. Regards, Y.
