The better the acting, the more insane they are. Very true. I think even Joe rogan said that on his podcast about alot of the actors in Hollywood, it's like bringing back trauma for the feels. Kinda sad too when you think about it bc it's like they torture themselves to get that feeling just for that scene.
@Ahumanbeing22
@Ahumanbeing22 Жыл бұрын
@@thtswutshesaid I wouldn’t call it torture. As someone who can cry on demand it’s definitely not torture. I don’t know how else to describe it other than it feels good to cry, to let out the sadness. I mean I’m depressed, so…. Yeah idk, I feel very misunderstood, and a lot of times it feels so good to just cry. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. I put on this everything is ok face all the time, but really I just want to cry and sleep

@losingweightgaininglife7253 Are you an actor that needed to get to the point to "cry on demand"? Bc if not this particular subject doesn't apply to you because it takes "work" for actors to get to the point to where they can "cry on demand" which can be tortuous. Have you not heard about Shelley Devall when she was in the movie, "The shining" her director literally mentally & emotionally tortured her to get her to react to the scenes they needed for her to react to in that movie. Also the definition of Torture means "the action or practice of inflicting severe pain or suffering on someone as a punishment or in order to force them to do or say something." There have been plenty of horror stories describing how director's would push their actors to the extreme to get the reactions they need.... what do you call that? Constantly bringing up bad or sad thoughts take a toll on your mind, body, & soul.

There are two kinds of people. Those who are always holding back their emotions and are forever on the brink of tears; and those who shove their emotions down so deep that they don't cry.
@evajohns3217

What helped me ‘cry on cue’ what a genuine attachment to the script. I had an exercise with a partner where I had to look at him and do a rather funny script- but the premise was he was my dead brother here for a visitation dream and we both knew when I wake up we’ll never see each other again. Every joke was an ache like an Indian sun burn.

I had to learn this for a monologue I was doing in Theater at one point. Honestly, I learned by memorizing how my body felt when I felt like crying; watching movies with topics yk will make you cry is the best way. I’d assume it’s slightly different for mixing different emotions with crying tho. Learning the sensations you feel when you are experiencing emotions is really beneficial when attempting to improve your acting
