We need KZbin to allow us to A/B test thumbnails and titles. I said this to them a year ago and it looks like Facebook is implementing something similar. KZbin should have the ability to allow us to upload two thumbnails per video and two titles. When it goes live, it shoots out both a and b to your following and within minutes it should know which one is getting a higher CTR!!!!
@paddygalloway87804 жыл бұрын
You're so right. It would be such a useful feature but I think they know that, they just choose not to implement. Who knows why, but I have my theories...
@J0daa4 жыл бұрын
@Paddy Galloway I'm guessing there is a correlation between high quality videos and channels who use A/B testing, so having that skill gap allows for the viewer to be guided towards channels that they are more likely to subscribe to and continue receiving/watching high quality content, keeping them on KZbin for longer. I use TubeBuddy too and it's been SOOOOO useful over the past few months (gained 50k views from nothing in 7 videos); it really shows how much information KZbin *intentionally hides* from its creators.
@westly7rock4 жыл бұрын
Actually they do... There's too many variables to make this a simple to use feature. So they left an API (application programing interface) that lets you query metrics about your video and change it's metadata (like the thumbnail and title). This is exactly what Tube buddy does.
@inemanja4 жыл бұрын
@@paddygalloway8780 do it manually...
@LuLeBe4 жыл бұрын
@@westly7rock too many variables? If it's an optional feature, they can implement a good guess and people can still use some other software / method. Just look at minutes watched per thumbnail view. 10 people see it, they watch a total of 50mins? Better than 8 people seeing the other one and watching for 10mins. So go with A.

Tom Scott, mentioned in another reply, is another example of this - the no fluff, straight to interesting content (well written, rehearsed, and competently presented) and thanks for watching. You know that Tom will not waste your time. His current stuff is usually shorter than most similar subject videos. Got a few minutes? Watch aTom Scott and be entertained, informed, and turned loose so you can waste your time elsewhere.
@L1ght_74 жыл бұрын
Grian is a great example of a large gaming channel that is the same way. He NEVER asks for people to like and subscribe. One day at the very end of his video, however, he said in the nicest way possible, that a large majority of his viewer base was not subscribed and they should consider subscribing. And guess what? The very next video he thanked his viewers for a bunch of new subscribers and he was shocked at how many people did. Just goes to show that KZbinrs don't need to constantly shove "LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE NOW" down our throats to get people to subscribe. A gentle reminder every once and a while is all that is needed and makes for much better content overall.

Tbh, the last point (Quality over Quantity) highly depends on the strategy... There is a whole different market for daily uploads that is very successful in itself. Dream is also crushing the KZbin scene, he started uploading a year or so ago, and already has 7 mil subs. He’s a Minecraft youtuber known for speed running and such. He’s growing insanely l, last week he has 6mil, a couple weeks ago he had 5, he’s growing at such an INSANE rate.
@irok14 жыл бұрын
Yep, and Dream is known for studying the algorithm. He even hid a lot of his videos from a certain point back to "restart" his channel

You’ll be shocked to know he now is at 10 million plus subs

Dank Sinatra yep! I’ve still been watching him. It’s insane how far he’s come and how quickly he got to 10mil.

Geoffrey Moore probably never imagined his “chasm” graph would be so viral and so useful for so long. He published that book with the famous graph way back in 1991.
@QuantumS1ngularity4 жыл бұрын
One very important thing you forget - Mark's channel gives the old-school early Mythbusters vibe and since pretty much all of us millennials grew up with that show, each and every one of his videos is like a nice stroll down memory lane. Also it makes it catchy enough to appeal to much wider audience with viewers who aren't all the deep into science. Because Derek from Veritasium also does incredible videos, but his a bit too detailed for the average viewer so not as many people stick to them as with Mark. Also can't deny you nailed it with the "homemade" part in the video. KZbin really started as a platform to watch homemade funny stuff and fails, there was almost no production value to the videos whatsoever and watching it becoming like a polished TV network is sad.

Your videos is very informative, in my opinion they are much better than "how to grow your channel" type of videos as you learn from other's mistakes and live experience. Thank you!

You might want to take a look at a youtuber called Dream, in about a year he grew his channel from pretty much 0 to millions! He recently hit 5 mil- oh nvm he already hit 6 million subscribers! Definitely something suited for your channel :)

Elephant toothpaste will just appeal to more people than how youtube works. this is a niche topic and is not for general audiences, that is why. Going niche can be one strategy to have less competition to deal with but the overall viewership can be lower too.

He has 150k subs and get over 4kk in the mr beast video, and has a lot of 500k+ vídeos as well. And KZbin isn't about just making money, for some people the plesure is making a good video even if less people will watch it

The algorithms in Facebook and KZbin have always had manual adjustments. It's the opposite of shadowbanning, it's really easy to spot when KZbin wants to make someone famous, and in general in social media when they want somebody to fall into obscurity.
Now everyone is beating the algorithm...everyone need to beat the new algorithm

I would suscribe, BUT : 1. I just ended up here by the algotithm, I don't have the need for making a youtube channel 2. I don't really want analysis videos on my feed for all and each one of the top youtubers out there I don't even know 3. Your content is focused for an north american/international audience and doesn't calls me out as a south american Have been said that, I hope you get that 99% of unsuscribed people aboard in anytime in the future, but for now, thanks for making this type of content.
