I started praying the Rosary about 5 weeks ago. My husband is Catholic and I’ve been a Christian (protestant) for over 32 years and have I struggled with the same sin for most of my life. Once I started praying the Rosary it became clear to me that I had an oppressive evil spirit that has been with me since I was abused by an evil uncle at the age of four. The scales fell from my eyes. Blessed Mary revealed to me this spirit and I prayed the rosary and a prayer of deliverance and it LEFT me!! Praise to our Lord who hears our prayers through our blessed mother! I am now going through catechism and plan to convert. My family once were Catholics and she is calling me home to the Catholic Church. I could never understand how scripture says we are a new creation in Christ when we are born into His kingdom. Now I do, I feel like a new person. I just can’t even explain how different I feel. How happy and so unbelievably thankful. Ava Maria

I have had a feeling that something was afflicting me for quite sometime and it driving a lot of my destructive behavior. The more I prayed the rosary, the more I realized that it was an oppressive spirit. When I came to the realization, I prayed for forgiveness and my sins first. I wanted to make sure I came with a request with a pure heart and then I spoke out loud. It had no right to be with me, and I prayed to rebuke the evil spirit and for it to leave me. I just prayed my own words in the name of Jesus. It’s not like anything crazy happened at that moment. I didn’t feel some energy leave me or anything like that. I just realized it over the next couple days and in weeks since that is no longer there! I saw changes in my behavior, changes in my self control and praise God that sin isn’t tempting me anymore! I feel like the missing part to my answered prayers was the mercy of the Blessed Mother through my prayers asking her to be my advocate to our Lord.

I am an ex Anglican with an Anglican vicar paternal grandfather, and maternal grandparents many years protestant missionaries in China. I have been nearly 70 years a Catholic now and am now nearly 90. I was living in Italy soon after conversion for nearly 15 years, including working as a translator in the Vatican for a while. It was there that I had a sudden call to Carmel, but fought hard against it. So I too experienced hard-to-believe demonic attacks, so know how terrifying they can be. By hesitating and procrastinating I think I was leaving a door open for the devil to try and prevent my vocation. After a great deal of deviating and a circuitous route I did eventually enter a Carmel in Northern Italy where I was very happy for a year, but then because of a severe illness it was decided that the enclosure was not where I should be, but with the Secular Discalced Carmelites, OCDS, and have now been a member for 47 years. There has been a reason for God leading me along a very crooked path, which I can now see. But when the Hound of Heaven calls, it is wise to respond immediately. The Rosary is one of the greatest weapons against Satan, and I still find it a struggle to pray it daily! Complaining about the Church also leaves doors and windows open to the devil and his minions! +

Mary's cooperation with the divine plan was absolutely essential. She had free will and could've said "No." To accept God's call for her life, put her in danger. The Blessed Mother has more than once come to my rescue against the enemy and for that, I am very grateful. The Fall in the Garden of Eden was a failure of the first two humans (Adam and Eve) and our restoration is the cooperation of two more humans (Jesus and Mary.)

@@colvinator1611 Big difference between a pagan deity, a Protestant Queen and the Virgin Mary.The “Queen of Heaven” that Jeremiah refers to is not Mary. Therefore, he was not condemning Marian devotion. The fact that Jeremiah was not referring to Mary is obvious, since he was writing around 600 B.C., not the first century A.D. In his day, the title “Queen of Heaven” was used to refer to various pagan deities. The fact that a pagan deity Ishtar was supposedly known as the queen of heaven doesn’t mean this term can’t rightfully be applied, in another sense altogether, to Mary. The pagan king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, is called the king of kings by Daniel (Dn 2:37), yet this doesn’t preclude Jesus from being called by the same title (Rv 17:14; 19:16). Since the destiny of all Christians is to reign as kings and queens with Christ in heaven (Eph 2:12; Rv 1:6; 5:10), and since Mary is the preeminent Christian, there’s nothing wrong with giving her the title which Christ, the King of Kings, bestowed upon her in making Mary his mother. I'm 62 and a cradle Catholic. I was away from the church for years until I was in my 40's. Growing up I went to Catholic school at a time when things weren't so good. I now pray the rosary and realize... that meditating on the particular mysteries that the Rosary is funamentaly scripture. As long as one embraces the mysteries. I've given out many to non Catholics and many are drawn to it. I'm being demonically oppressed presently. Things were good for a few years but old hairy legs seems to be back especially in my dreams. For many years I led a very sinful life flooded with pornography. Those days are gone... praise God... but when you let the devil into your house he wants to keep coming back. So for those presently oppressed by the devil and his minions I recommend to always have a rosary and holy water on hand. Don't miss Mass and stick to the sacraments. Flood your internet usage with Catholic programs and beware of the devil's snares because they are many. We can not deny how evil is such a force now. God bless and Jesus I trust in you.

Also, a blessed St. Benedict Medal with the invocation written on it in Latin, which says: ''Get behind me Satan!'' And keep praying the Rosary! Our Lady will be with you every step of the way! 🙏

But conversions to the Catholic faith have always fascinated me. This one of Dr. Gavin is quite remarkable, especially as it was the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary that drew him into the faith. I realize ( as I realize every time it happens) that it's the Rosary, and the Eucharist, and the Church's own faith tradition that has kept me in the Catholic fold. If I had been alive at the time of Luther I may very well have left, too. Ironically, we have to thank Protestants for exposing the un-Christlike nature of The Church, at the time. So, Protestantism ought to be seen as a force for good. God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. Peace be with you.

You just call evil good. It's very dangerous. Very thin line
@graceygrumble7 ай бұрын
@thymebazil4822 There have been many evils perpetrated in the name of The Holy Roman Catholic Church. They were manifold and manifest. We failed many of God's children, which is why we have become so scattered. They were 'evil times', true. But The Church can not absolve itself from being a part of that evil. To do so would be pernicious, accusatory; lacking in reason and in love, leaving no room for reconciliation. Now, 'that' is a slippery slope.
@dentryn43656 ай бұрын
@@graceygrumble Despite the amount of scholarship dedicated to Luther, a false narrative perpetuated by Protestant propaganda often obscures the real man. This false narrative portrays Luther as a valiant monk fighting against the powerful papacy in order to reform the corrupt Catholic Church of the 16th century. Attacked by the Church for his heroic defense of the average Christian and desire to restore the Christian faith to its earlier purity, the false narrative alleges, Luther was a reformer who was forced into his rebellion. As the 500th anniversary of the beginnings of the so-called Protestant Reformation is recalled in religious and secular media throughout the month, many of the myths and legends about Martin Luther will once more enter into the collective consciousness of the Western world. Despite the false narrative of Luther the “bold reformer,” the real story finds an angry man, whose rejection of papal authority, among other heretical positions, quickly ushered in a revolution, not a reformation, which cleaved Christendom and shaped Western civilization down to the modern day. True that the Church in the 16th century was in need of reform, as many abuses had crept into its life, including the buying and selling of ecclesial offices (simony), nepotism, absenteeism (when a bishop did not live in his diocese) and pluralism (one man appointed bishop of multiple dioceses). Many people in the Church called for reform and desired an end to these practices. Luther came to fame with the publication of his “95 Theses” in the fall of 1517. Contrary to the popular myth that Luther was condemned by the Church for his attack on the “selling” of indulgences, the real issue centered on Luther’s heretical claim that the pope had no authority even to grant an in-dulgence. After the 95 Theses were examined by papal theologians, Luther was ordered to travel to Rome for questioning and to recant his heretical views. Over the centuries, Luther the man gave way to Luther the symbol. The former Augustinian monk who rebelled against the Church and whose writings spawned a century of horrific bloodshed throughout Europe was idolized as a valiant “reformer” who stood against the powerful and corrupt Catholic Church. Luther was not a reformer, but an angry revolutionary who cleaved the unity of Christendom and placed the Western world on a path toward the secularization and indifferentism of modern society.
@dentryn43656 ай бұрын
@@graceygrumble Catholic Reformation was necessary and justified. Although Catholics contributed sins of their own, the “sin” of the Reformation, it seems, was the division among Christians brought about by Protestant changes of doctrine, practice, and church structure. In early sixteenth-century, Catholicism needed reform or purification? Popes, prelates, priests, and the people. Late medieval popes and their clergy were by no means all wicked. Luther brought to the debate his recently acquired justification by faith alone (sola fide). Soon, he moved well beyond the issue of indulgences and wound up defending his ideas against Catholic theologians in such a way that he embraced a different notion of how Christians come to know what God asks them to believe: by Scripture alone (sola scriptura). Luther’s ideas spread to others unable or unwilling to distinguish Catholic reform of the Church from religious revolution. The Protestant Reformation was launched.The trouble was, sound doctrines were mixed up with false theories, which eventually put Luther and others at odds with the Catholic Church. What might have contributed to the Catholic Reformation of the time was distorted and exaggerated. Catholics, as Vatican II implies, contributed to the sin of separation. Yet Protestantism, in the name of reform, introduced mistaken ideas and practices that divided Protestants from full communion with the Catholic Church. While Lutheran turned Orthodox, Jaroslav Pelikan once called the Protestant Reformation a tragic necessity. From the Catholic perspective, it was tragic because it was not necessary. Things Luther rightly sought to correct did not require separation from the Catholic Church; what separated Luther and other Protestants from the Church were their theological theories and reinterpretations of Christian beliefs and practices. Unfortunately, Luther and the other early Protestants interpreted these ideas in such a way that broke communion with the Catholic Church and fostered religious upheaval in Europe. These interpretations were the negative principles, as Bouyer saw it.

@@RecalledtoLifeOur Lord came to us through the Blessed Virgen Mary, nothing impure can touch God, God Himself called Her full of grace, there isn't anyone like Her. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee St. Luke 1: 26 - 28
@joecastillo87988 ай бұрын
@@RecalledtoLife At the Annunciation, we are able to learn of the special grace given only to the Virgin Mary by God. The message of God in English: Luke 1:28 28. And upon entering, the Angel said to her: "Hail, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women." Such unique greeting reveals fullness of grace was applied to the Virgin Mary the moment of her conception. How do we know that? By the words expressed, through the Greek manuscript: χαῖρε, κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ κύριος μετὰ σοῦ. (χαῖρε • ( chaîre ) hail !, Ave !,) The above passage reads: Chaire, kecharitōmenē, ho kyrios meta sou! IN LATIN: "Ave Gratia Plena" Dominus tecum! IN ENGLISH Hail, "Full of Grace," the Lord is with you! In dissecting the Greek manuscript we see Luke uses κεχαριτωμένη. Such unique word: "kecharitomene", seems to have been crafted out of thin air as the word for the moment; used nowhere else in Scriptures or even in secular Greek literature. The technical name for such a unique word is "hapax legomenon", which in Greek means: "expressed once." Such sort of word is sometimes referred as a "nonce" word. A one-of-a-kind word for a one-of-a-kind person in a one-of-a-kind situation. No one in the Bible or in history, is called: κεχαριτωμένη. Pronounced: "Kecharitomene". Though it is one of a kind word, grammatically, the word kecharitomene is the feminine present perfect passive voice participle of the Greek verb χαριτόω (charitóō). In the passive voice, the verb actually means: "To have been made graceful", "To have been endowed with a special grace". Therefore, at the Annunciation, the Angel reveals that: Mary was born Sinless. Clearly expressed in Greek as: "Having already been graced". The word: "Kecharitomene" is comprised of three parts: 1.- A root 2.- A suffix 3.- A prefix. Each part tells something important. The root is: "Charitoo". Such word means “GRACE,” a supernatural endowment gratuitously given by God (CCC 1997-1998). We know Scripture sometimes emphasizes two things: 1.- What God gives (a supernatural gift, Luke 2:40, Acts 6:8) 2.- Why God gives it (His favor or kindness Acts 13:43, Gal. 1:15). Both are always present, because God’s gift of divine help comes from his beneficence and God’s beneficence is manifested by his divine help; which accounts for the different translations of “grace” or “favor.” When dissecting the word we learn: 1 - The suffix "MENE" indicates a passive participle, meaning Mary (the subject) is being acted upon. This is important because it shows Mary did not bring herself into this graced state, but rather it was the Act of God; describing Mary as: “she who has been graced [by God].” 2 - The prefix "KE" indicates the perfect tense, meaning the action (Mary being graced) has been completed in the PAST with its results continuing in full effect in the PRESENT. 3.- What does it mean? The Angel Gabriel’s greeting, means God’s Grace (Which is God's favor) has been given to Mary prior to the angel’s appearance and that such graced state continues on. It hints at, but does not alone demonstrate both Mary’s Immaculate Conception; that Mary “…at the first instant of her conception…was preserved immaculate from all stain of original sin…” (Pope Pius IX, “Ineffabilis Deus”) and her consequent sinless life of grace. May God bless your discernment.
