De Ligt, Yoro and Martinez makes it the best ball playing CB's in the league. Mazroui, Dalot and Shaw (hopefully Kadioglu too) are very good passers also. You start from the back if you want to be a possesion based team.

Juve fan here, from my memory M.D didn’t play on left. IMO, he seemed off pace in play, struggling to keep up with the game in his last yr at Juve, could have been his will to play or tactically misfit at the time. Do hope he does well but didn’t seem to pick up style from Chiellini tenacity or Bonucci build up. If u see Bremer play u will see what MD should have played like. Ty for video & space to opine. I think that's not a fair conclusion. At Juve he had a poor start but got progressively better, playing the most out of any CB at the time. Juve had to sell because they were going bankrupt after getting Ronaldo, de Ligt being a high wage player and being very marketable at the time made him an easy sell. It both gave them immediate funds and cut their wages wich were way too high to sustain. At bayern in his first season he was by far their best defender and got the player of the season award at Bayern, in his second season he was injured for a long time and still played most games out of any CB apart from Upamencano. But once again his high wage and marketablility makes him an easy sale to make room for other signigns. Bayern fans are anything but happy about this sale since they loved him. He's also had 6 different managers in 6 seasons showing that both clubs he went to have been anything but stable.

People are quick to point out it didn't work for him at Juve and Bayern but he's a very good defender on and off the ball, good in the air as well. He will transform how we will play out the back with his quality compared to Maguire Evans and Lindelof. He's still fairly young and mobile so we can play a higher line in defense and close the massive gap between midfield and defense.

de ligt - won the league with Juve, went to a better team and won the league with munich playing over 40 matches. Last yr was injured but started all their big games and played over 30 matches still United were by far the better team in the shield. MARTINEZ and DE LIGT - is a brilliant pairing.
