The best Conor I've ever seen was against Alvarez. He controlled that fight like Eddie was on a leash. He was patient and just countered Eddie to the point Eddie realized he couldn't do shit to him other than takedown but at that point he was gassed enough he couldn't. He looked like he could have went 5 rounds in that fight and wasn't even breathing hard after. That fight was brilliant.

It’s Conor (not Connor). His biggest mistake is taking the time off. DP is not going to let him win the trilogy. He outworks his opponents (minus Khabib) Conor would /will have a better shot at beating Nate (my favorite fighter ) simply bc Nate looks for the knockout and hates the thought of being out pointed. The problem Conor had was he fought flat footed. He used to keep ranged cause he could bounce in and out of shots or kicks. His opponents were left with only certain moments to take their own shots. And when they would Conor either bounced out to avoid, or he'd step out then quickly step back in and hit them with a left or uppercut. Conor always forced them to throw punches so he could counter. He would parry their punches and then hit them with a left. And because he was so light on his feet if that left hurt them he would quickly move forward and throw more shots before the opponent had even a second to gather himself or his balance. Conor was so quick with all of his movements. His opponents couldn't read him, they had to wait for his shots or kicks. They were afraid to shoot because they new he could catch them with his left, or an uppercut. He fought Dustin flat footed, and moved too slow. He hurt Dustin a number of times but wasn't fast enough to avoid Dustin's counters. That limited the number of shots hed take in combos. Instead he'd back off after a couple shots, take a breathe and either get leg kicked or hit while he threw his own punches.

The fact that he's fighting after having $350M in the bank says everything about how much he loves fighting. Now activeness is very true, and Dustin put in so much time while Conor was off that ofcourse he's in favour of winning the trilogy. And I like it when Conor is the underdog, is doubted and counted out by everyone. He shines under pressure. The second fight, he was smacking Dustin and if it wasn't for the calf kicks, I believe he'd have been KOd. Post fight, Dustin is more bruised in the face than Conor. I think with adjustments, beating Conor at his weight class that too standup is not happening that easily. I would argue that what Conor needs isnt so much physical, but mental. It seems to me that he needs to get that killer instinct back. That mindset and attitude. Being "Good Conor" is cool outside of combat, but when he gets into the arena he needs to drop that completely. In the last fight it looked like Conor was holding back - in my personal opinion. He needs to flip that switch ON and get that absolute focus that we have seen in him before.

If you watch Izzy Vs Marvin 1, Izzy easily avoids calf kicks because of his quickness and distance control, I think Conors karate stance would allow him to do the same. It also makes it harder to for someone to take him to the ground as seen in the Khabih fight.

We can’t expect Conor or even Dustin to come out in the trilogy fight and suddenly their gonna be on the same level of calf’s kicks as Justin Gaethje. Realistic both Conor and Dustin are new to calf’s kicks, getting kicked in the calf is like the getting hit in the head their nothing you can train to better absorb shots to those areas so you just have to avoid getting hit as mush as possible. The nerve that runs along the outside part of the knee gets hit one to many times and you just can’t move your ankle and foot anymore and you become a stand still fighter and an easy target for anyone in the UFC.

If he doesn't then Connor will probably win. All of Connors losses are because he's become complacent and overconfident. He overlooked Diaz, didn't respect Khabibs skills, and then he thought Dustin was the same person he beat before. These aren't the habits of a great champ.

Guys really you just gonna sit here and make excuses for connor in the rematch and not think dustin actually out preformed him.because he is generally better than him. For such a patient fight he was for sure initiating the striking in round 1 even in round 2 but dustin still lit him up. Dustin deserves more credit.

I think Conor wins cuz it’s probably the most important fight for the ufc in the history of the company. If Conor wins he’s even a bigger star but if he loses again it’s basically over. I could see Dustin making Conor quit in the later rounds but if somehow Conor can last the 5 I could also see the judges robbing Dustin

The thing is Dustin is aware of the difference in the two fights. Dustin will absolutely destroy Conor in the next fight. Conor has no heart to push through. Think about it. He got exhausted and gave Khabib his back and let him submit him. He did the same with Diaz. Dustin hurt his leg and he already gave up and the TKO was a technicality at that point.
